What's great about it: Good story, some really neat gameplay features
What's not so great: Lack of Level designs and some gameplay annoyances
Over all I liked the game. It was designed very lazily though There are basically 4 areas in the whole game and you just go back to them on 3 different occasions. So instead of new temples and new lands you get to see the same lands and temples over and over again. I really like how you pull the nunchuck back to shoot arrows, but I really didnt like twisting my wrist to steer the bird you ride or when your are swimming, I would rather use the joystick for that. Also the idea of you swinging your sword to counter the enemies defenses seems like a cool idea until you play it and you are reduced to just flapping your wrist around cause countering still doesnt work. You may end up with temporary carpo tunnel syndrome... but all in all its still worth playing.

By far the best game in the Zelda series so far. The only thing that could have been better were the graphics, which don't seem to have improved much from Twilight Princess, but the game overall is a masterpiece.

This is the first game i have played on a wii. I love the Zelda universe and the puzzles. I do not enjoy the motion controls though. It sometimes tends to show a horizontal sword swing when I swing vertical or vice versa, I also think the controls for swimming and sometimes the flying are poor.
Even with that, it is still a very fun game and is a great addition to the Zelda library.

What's great about it: great music, storyline, and graphics
What's not so great: Wii motion plus mechanics (at times), smaller open world
OK, so I will be the first to admit, even though I own a PS3, I am a Nintendo fanboy at heart. I'm a bit biased because if it says Zelda on it (outside of the horrible Phillips CD PC title we shall never speak of), I'm going to want to play it. Having said that, this is a solid title to add to the franchise. The music is spectacular as always and searching for that next item to help you along with your quest will keep you going. My only problems with this particular title are:
1. The Wii Motion Plus feature can be EXTREMELY frustrating anytime you go up against the main protagonist which thankfully is only about 3 times in the game.
2. The world is not as large to search as some of the other titles in the past. You could probably breeze through this title in a day if you weren't a completist.
3. If you were hoping for another shot at Ganon, you'll be disappointed. This takes place before all that. No mention of him even at all.

What's great about it: The gameplay is fine tuned and fantastic
What's not so great: I need to learn to not swing my sword so hard. I'm going to throw my shoulder out...
I bought a Wii almost exclusively for this title. Zleda games are always fun and since the Wii came out all versions of Zelda have been fantastic.

What's great about it: Everything, great art, great puzzles, great battles, great Extras, great Side-quests, and it comes with a music CD!
What's not so great: Nothing
The best Zelda Yet?
Quite possibly. Previously I thought that no game would ever beat Ocarina of Time for my favorite Zelda game, but this one is the only other Zelda game to stand up with Ocarina and give Ocarina a run for it's money.
The game is fairly long but it's worth every minute you won't get the feeling that you wished the game had ended 5 hours ago even when you're 45 hours into the game.
Must have for anybody that has an electrical outlet (if you don't have a Wii, go buy one).

What's great about it: Just plain FUN
What's not so great: Graphics (but as good as can expect with 480p)
So this definitely gets my vote for one of the best Zelda's ever, up there with the original, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask. As always with Wii games, the graphics could be better (but I'm spoiled by the 1080p on the PS3 so we can let it slide). Other than that, the storyline is involved, the motion plus controls are great, and the puzzles are a blast to figure out. All in all, its the most fun I've had with a Zelda game in over a decade.

The game starts out a little slow, but it's a good thing. It takes a little while to master the controls, and the game paces things appropriately to let you catch up. The puzzles are challenging without being impossible, and even if you're stuck there are ways to get hints. I've only made it through the first dungeon and I can tell there's a TON more play left. My only gripe is that the graphics and characters are a little too kid oriented, but there is a decent amount of violence. Let me be clear, I'm not objecting to the violence (I love shooters), it's just the mixed message along with the somewhat annoying cuteness of some of the NPC's.

What's great about it: Game style. Zelda is the greatest of all games
What's not so great: Simplicity. It would be more enjoyable if things were a bit more challenging.
I have played all the Zelda games, this one is at the top of the list, only behind Link to the Past. They did an absolutely great job on the game, the only thing is that it's not got the same sort of feel as I loved in LTTP. The dungeons and enemies just don't have the same feel, it does feel more new and update though!

Absolutely great game! The storyline was very good. I hardly noticed that it wasn't in HD with the art style that was chosen. Music score was great.
The only bad thing i can say are that the motion controls are by no means perfect and this can get frustrating during boss battles where precise movements are important. Oh yeah, and Fi is extremely annoying.

What's great about it: Overall a well developed game, great art style...Everything is amazing!
What's not so great: Not HD, but it's NIntendo. The art style, gameplay, and story is amazing!
I have to be honest first.
I'm not really a big Nintendo gamer, but I have played the SNES as a kid. But when I got really into gaming, Sony just sucked me in with their PS and ever since then, I've been with Sony.
About a year ago, I decided to finally get a Wii. I got this game like 6 months into owning a Wii, and I have to say that along with Twilight Princess, this game is just too good!
There's a pretty cool item collecting system that's sort of like an RPG. You use items to upgrade your equipment. The story is supposed to be an origins story to the entire franchise, which is quite true if you play the game.
Graphics aren't like Uncharted or God of War 3, but Nintendo does a phenomenal job through art style. And even with (as usual) no voice acting but just voice clips, they manage to somehow portray what they're trying to say. It's weird, but it works. Nintendo is just too good in that way with video games.
For any Zelda fans or for those with a Wii and want a good game that'll get you sucked in and you don't have this...WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!?

What's great about it: Elaborates on the Zelda storyline and is a fun game.
What's not so great: Game stopping bug at first.
I always enjoy a new Zelda game and this one is pretty good so far and looks to keep being that way. There was the bug that stopped gameplay and forced a restart but Nintendo has that fixed at this point. Glad I picked this up with a free gift card.

What's not so great: the graphics are okay and i have trouble geting some of t he bonuses thaT ARE ESSENTIAL to the game.

Not gonna lie, Skyward Sword is an awesome game. In a market filled with many tedious FPSs and bland RPGs, Skyward Sword presents a fresh and modern way to play video games. SS uses the same Zelda formula, but even a zelda fanatic won't be bored with the 40+ hours story line.
While the motion controls are just now what we expected when the wii first came out, SS delivers the best experience I've had so far with the wii-mote. However, i would have liked it better if zelda was not the guinea pig for the wii-remote plus.
The graphics are cell-shaded-looking, like a cross between windwaker and twilight princess, and it works well both the mood of the game with a realistic approach.
Don't except the ocarina of time for the 2010s, but Skyward Sword is, by any well-played gamer's standards, a game worth playing. Maybe even again and again for years to come.
