What's great about it: Picks up dirt left behind by other vacuums.
Solid vacuum. Only had it for a few months, but loving it so far. The canister is really easy to empty, and shows you all the dirt left behind by previous vacuum.

I returned the Dc 41 and bought this one..it's so easy for me to clean the whole house in less time than before..I got this one because I have wooden floor as well as carpet.

I absolutely love this vacuum. I should have bought it long ago. It sucks everything and the attachment, although a bit awkward at first makes cleaning dust on ceiling fans and baseboards a breeze! I have a Pomeranian that sheds everywhere and it is no match for this vacuum. I am so glad I purchased this Dyson. You won't regret it!

I'm married to a pet lover, so we have tons of animal hair that seems to accumulate in just minutes. We are really hard on vacuums, and this one has been great! It has good suction power, and the canister is easily removed, emptied, and replaced.

What's not so great: more expensive than most
Great vacuum. Picks up much more than the vacuum it replaced. I was amazed that this vacuum actually works great on tile, whereas other vacuums just blow dirt all over the place. Performance on carpet is also great. So while expensive, you definitely get what you pay for.

What's great about it: Very compact and powerful
What's not so great: The wand is a little hard to handle
If I could get used to the wand and how it pulls out of the handle with its limited flexibility it would be better. But I am not sorry that I bought it as I am still happy with this powerful vacuum. It is very handy and compact and has a powerful suction and goes very close to the floor without having to adjust up or down.

What's great about it: Much better than ball versions on thicker carpet
What's not so great: The hose attachment is very awkward
I first had an DC41 Animal, the ball version. It was lighter and the hose attachment was easier to maneuver. But it was not so good on thicker pile carpet. For the money a Dyson cost, it should do my dishes. I shouldn't have to bend down to help a piece of dirt out of the carpet for my costly vacuum cleaner. So back it went. I did a little research and found that those with carpet like the non-ball Dyson models better. So I purchased this model. It does a great job on the carpet. But I don't need to use the extender arm on my furniture, just the flat attachment directly connected to the hose. The ball version allowed for that...this one doesn't. The flat hose attachment doesn't click in to attach directly to the hose...only to long extender piece. And the whole hose attaches much more awkwardly to the main part of the vacuum than the ball version did. If they could put the attachment technology of the ball model on this model, it would be the perfect vacuum. The cord is longer on this model and that is a huge plus!

What's not so great: Have to check the rollers everytime as hairs/fibres get caught up in it.
After having a cheaper brand and suffering poor suction, I decided to spend more money on better quality. It's a good vacuum cleaner and picks up well but longer hairs frequently get caught in the rollers.

I debated quite a bit before dropping this kind of coin on a vacuum cleaner. I was able to purchase this vacuum on clearnace at BB for $280, which was still pricey for a vacuum imo. Anyways, the thing is a champ at cleaning floors. Would purchase again!
