What's great about it: GREAT 3 Season RAIDO SYSTEM
What's not so great: NOT A GREAT BATTERY LIFE IN THE WINTER MONTHS
My findings after 1 year of service in UPSTATE NY's harsh weather system:
The radio's are used for Farm / & Family activities on a daily baises...
The only complaint I have is that what ever radio that ends up in the barn during the winter seams to loose battery charge in 3 hours of leaving the warm house.
We have used these radio's in ALL WEATHER from -20 wind-chill to 110 in the shade, area's covered from 1 to 5 miles in the hilly mountainous terrain where our farm is located - I would not recommend more than 5 miles of operation even on the high power setting.
Also, we have used them last summer for our kids 4-H Horse Program last summer for two weeks at county fair, as we helped the program leaders coordinate, and also for our own kids to coordinate and talked and received for 13+ hours a day during that time, with out a problem...
I SURELY RECOMMEND THAT YOU BUY THESE RADIOS!!!!
