What's great about it: Much faster than USB 2.0
Easy install. Had to use drivers on the disk for windows 7. Transfer from USB ports on the card is close to 100 MB/s. Improved transfer from external Hard Drive (holding video library) was improved by 1.5 - 2 X the speed.

What's great about it: USB 3.0 Is Super Fast
What's not so great: You need a free PCI-E Slot in your tower.
This card if you have the slot for it in your tower. Yeah, you can only install it in a desktop PC, but if you have an open PCI-E slot then you really can't go wrong with this card. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to keep the card because I don't have a free slot. This is because my sound card is taking up the only free slot I have. Even so, that is my mistake and you shouldn't fault this card in any way for that. I definitely recommend this card.

What's not so great: Store only carries two port version
Needed this for expansion for USB3 externals. Plug and play in my old desktop; I just wish the store had had versions with more than two ports (only available online).

What's great about it: good price
What's not so great: needs power cord extension - not included
i bought this to gain a usb 3.0 port for faster backup speeds with a new WD hard drive. Found that I needed to attach a four -pin power cord. The connection I needed is too short in my PC. The card does run without it but it's hard to find the 4-pin extension cord necessary. Its seems to work great without it though.

What's great about it: Fast speeds and Plug and Play
What's not so great: The price
I installed it in a PCI express slot in a few seconds. Installation was quick and easy.I am using this with a Windows 8 Machine. Windows 8 automatically installed the drivers that were needed and it was ready to go in a minute. I could only test it with a portable USB 3.0 drive but I got 110MB/s(880Mb/s) transfer rates to/from the external USB 3.0 powered hard drive. Which is three times faster than what I get with a USB 2.0 connection with the drive.

What's great about it: Adds a pair of USB 3.0 ports to an older motherboard
What's not so great: Did not enjoy the hunt for the power cable!
This card gave me the USB 3.0 connectivity I wanted. Like others, I was a bit underwhelmed by the speed increase, but at the same time was happy with the speed increase I got for the price I paid. I put this card into a Dell XPS 8000. I used to start my full system backup prior to going to bed because it took several hours. My first backup with the new setup took two hours. Also, like others, finding a cable to power this card was a bit of a hassle. I don't expect Rocketfish to supply a cable as the necessary cable is a function of your motherboard, power supply, and number of internal peripherals you are powering. Still, it would have been nice for them to have listed a few options on a tech support page to prevent this exercise from being a high-tech scavenger hunt. At any rate, this product gave me what I wanted at an excellent price.

What's great about it: USB 3.0 is SO fast!
I needed to reduce the time it takes to backup my whole computer (disk image) with Norton Ghost. USB 3.0 is a great way to do that. I now backup my whole computer in 2.5 hours when it used to take almost 12 hours using USB 2.0 with an external hard drive. This is an awesome improvement and I am so happy. The install was easy as pie and it works flawlessly.

What's great about it: Fast, simple install
What's not so great: Disappointed that speed increase was so small
I just installed a Rocketfish USB 3.0 PCI Express card in my Dell XPS 420 under Linux Ubuntu 12.04. I'm underwhelmed. Under USB 2.0, I can copy File System/home/randy (43.7 GB) to my freshly formatted Western Digital "MyPassport" 320 GB USB hard drive in *29* minutes. Copying the same directory to my freshly formatted Western Digital "MyPassport" 1 TB USB hard drive took *16.5* minutes. Bummer. I had hoped that USB 3 would provide at least a 3X improvement in speed compared to USB 2.0. Oh well, maybe if USB 3.0 is built into my next PC, it will have decent performance, allowing me to do a backup in less than 10 minutes.

What's great about it: Easy to install and good driver support
What's not so great: Overpriced
This adapter works great and is easy to install. I used it with a new computer to transfer files between two USB 3.0 hard drives and the speeds were what I expected.
The only flaw with this card is that the price seems excessive.

What's great about it: easy to install, price
What's not so great: only 2 ports
It is easy to install.
The only thing that got me was it requires a separate power supply connection. It requires a floppy disk power supply cable/adapter.
IT IS NOT INCLUDED!
It took a couple of hours to find an adapter cable,
than It took a couple of days to get the power cable adapter.
My system is only 6 months old, and has no floppy disk drive, so no power cable.

What's great about it: Easy Install
What's not so great: Need the driver to work (included)
Installed this card in my 3 1/2 year old HP desktop running Windows 7.It needs a PCI Express slot ,which I did not have a spare slot. But did have have one with a TV tuner card in it that I have never used.So I removed the TV card and the Rocketfish card fit right in!
It needs a 4-pin power plug like one for a floppy drive. My HP had a spare 4-pin power plug hanging free inside that I used.after installing the card it didnt work until I installed the driver from the included CD,then It worked fine! my little test was with the Seagate 3TB drive.a 4.4 GB folder took 3 1/2 minutes to copy at usb 2.0,and 1 1/2 minutes using the Rocketfish 3.0 card!

What's great about it: the speed
What's not so great: installation was tricky
The Card works great but i had a bit of trouble installing it. Finding a power cable for it was not too fun. Also the power plug doesn't easily plug and un-plug which made things difficult when i needed to get it into the machine. I almost broke the pins trying to unplug the card. Once it was installed it didn't seem to work, then i had to install the drivers. Now it seems to work fine. I even use it for my computer back up files, not just for individual files. All instillation issues aside, the card works great in conjunction with a external hard drive.

Bought/installed the card yesterday and it went fine, no issues. My 3.0 usb drive connected fine and transferred data. Today, the drive cannot be detected. The power light on the drive powers up but no detection on the drive and it still works fine from my other non-3.0 ports.
Rocketfish support said to return it to the store which I shall do and I suggest you skip the two trip adventure as well. Find another product as from reading other reviews, this card has issues.

What's great about it: nothing
What's not so great: compatability
I don't know about Windows, but under Ubuntu this card is very flakey. It installs fine and recognizes USB2 drives, but mounts USB3 drives sporadically, if at all. It refused all attempts to mount a Maxtor in a USB3 case and one Seagate it connected then disconnected after a short period of time, refusing after that to mount anything. Given that it's twice the price of competing brands, I'd go with something else.
