What's great about it: nothing
What's not so great: functionality, reliability, and ease of operation.
We bought this humidifier for our bedroom as both my wife and I both have issues when the air is to dry at night.
3 days after we bought the humidifier, the light just stayed red... it had water, we tried resetting it, no avail. Eventually after a few days of sitting it started working again.
The unit requires cleaning weekly which is a pain, and the buildup inside is horrible.
Finally after two or three weeks of using the product something happened and the humidifier steamed the wooden night stand it was sitting on, turned the wood black and ruined the table.
I will never purchase anything like this again and do not recommend any honeywell products to anyone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It's relatively stylish, works fine but, as with any warm-mist humidifier (I believe), it must be cleaned after EVERY use.

What's great about it: Price
What's not so great: It sounds like a fancy coffee maker
We were looking for an inexpensive, filterless humidifier and found the Honeywell. It has no bells and whistles, but it works. On the highest setting the humidifier will run out of water before the night is over. It essentially is a hot water boiler that makes a barely visible wisp of steam. It sounds like a quiet coffee maker and does the job for the price. Every now and then you'll have to let the machine rest for "15 minutes" to get it working again. I guess it gets too hot and must cool. Bottom line: It works, and it's filterless.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Brought it home, put it together, filled it up, turned it on and 5 minutes later it started leaking. Did i do something wrong? Took it apart, put it together, didn't plug it in, filled it up and 5 minutes later it started leaking. After looking it over again and again I can only assume that I am missing some critical seal that should be there. The base is gravity fed by the tank sitting on top of it. Obviously, the weight of the water will fill up the base and proceed to leak out if there is no seal to hold it back and that is exactly what is happening.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Consistent and quiet
What's not so great: High setting doesn't last through the night
This unit, so far, is fairly good. It heats up and produces steam quickly and consistently. It is mostly quiet, although at first there is a bit of noise as the water is heating up, but it's definitely not something that either keeps me awake or wakes me up at night.
The unit is pretty small. I have a small bedroom, around 12' x 12', and I feel that there is a good amount of humidity in the room during the night (I don't run it during the day). However, on the "High" setting, the water doesn't last through the night. On "Low" it will last through 1-11/2 nights before needing a fill-up. The auto-shut off is a very nice feature. I don't have to worry about running the motor when there is no water to disperse.
Overall, I like this unit. It's very easy to fill up and use, easy to clean, and does exactly what I need it to. I wish the reservoir was slightly bigger

What's great about it: cheap, auto shut-off
What's not so great: constant refill, flimsy body, packed up in less than 2 months
I have to use my humidifier everyday, but this one did not seem to be able to handle the heavy usage. It was silent sometimes, and other times annoyingly loud- I couldn't figure out why. It is quite a flimsy design- it required constant refilling, and the design does not allow for the frequent taking apart of the tank. Sadly this thing packed up on me just over a month after I bought it- I couldn't figure out why. I had the tank full of water, and it kept switching to re-set, which is meant to indicate that the tank is empty. After about ten attempts to revive it, I gave up. I will try to stick with the old honeywell model I had before, which lasted me about 4 years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Old Faithful reliability
As soon as I moved into a new house, the heating system turned out to be much more powerful than I was used to. My skin dried out quickly and I was having a very difficult time sleeping at night, even putting on lotion and vaseline. I bought this humidifier hoping it would help and two days later I was sleeping like a baby.
About once a month the unit needs to be cleaned because of junk in the tap water, I'm guessing, or the dust in the air mixing with the steam as it exits the vent. Fortunately the whole thing comes apart very easily and without and screws or fasteners. Very easy to clean.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very good portable humidifier. We use it during the winter to add moisture to our house. This brings our downstairs from 30-35% humidity to 40-45%. Not too expensive but does the job. To improve performance, I clean the scale off the heating unit every couple of weeks by soaking it in vinegar. Cannot comment on durability as this is its first season, but so far it is working well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Cheap and easy to use
What's not so great: Refils and cleaning.
I bought two of these units, one for upstairs and one for downstairs. They work very well, although could hold more water as we are filling them often. They make a nice warm steam and have helped my wifes breathing quite a bit. They are not the easiest to clean, and it is importnat to keep up on that. All in all I like them and for the price they are a great value.
I would recommend this to a friend!
