What's great about it: the ease of online gaming
What's not so great: the memory
My son has had great success with this xbox. this is his second one due to the first one getting the rings of death. He has stated to me this this xbox seems to run better than his first one even when it was new. Maybe we should all learn from this... Do not buy something when it first comes out let others figure out the kinks and then buy one!!!

What's great about it: Quite, Smaller than 1st gen., Kinect Ready, Amazing!
What's not so great: Nothing. It's a great system! I just decided to buy the new one. My old one still works perfectly!

The Xbox is a great gaming console. It would be nice if the 4GB entry level model came with more hard drive space (e.g. 50GB). I would recommend getting this model over the 250GB model (which cost $100 more), then buy the expansion 320GB HD for $120. You''ll get 74GB more for $20.

What's not so great: minimal memory space, but that's easy to fix with a capable jump drive
Getting the 4GB XBOX at $199.99 was a good deal. The low memory problem has an easy remedy. Otherwise works like the XBOX is supposed to. Love the wireless option.

What's not so great: Need to by a Hard Drive for this perticular one.
I one of if not the best game systems I have ever used. I bought the basic one then the kinect kit. It would be worth the money to by the bigger one with a hard drive which i have already done so separately.

In all, it’s a good system. You really can’t go wrong with the bigger gaming library than the Wii. Being able to download Classic Arcade Games with enhanced graphics are really a plus. As for craftsmanship and sturdiness, I think Sony and Nintendo makes a better system. The design of the system seems to be bit clunky.
Another downfall is that you have keep paying for enhancements and content. Even though the controller is wireless, playing a game like Street Fighter can be bit cumbersome and little uncomfortable when the action picks up in the screen. The thumb tend to slip and the left and right triggers respond a bit slow.
Even thought the price the base unit is $199, you might be better off buying the unit that gives you a bigger hard drive, 2 games, and 3 months of xbox live for only $100 bucks more.
It a good system if you want to be introduced to xBox. But for the long haul, you might want to get the system with the bigger hardrive.
