What's great about it: Easy to setup great reception
What's not so great: Line output is low so you have to turn up radio volume
I installed this in my Escape after the car didn't come with the built in satellite radio. It took my about 20-30 minutes to setup. For what it is worth I liked talking to Sirius better then XM. I had two accounts for Sirius and ended up moving one over to this radio.

What's great about it: Quality and ease of use
What's not so great: Nothing to report
We used this as we traveled from Calfornia to Oklahoma and had great reception all across the desert; in areas where we previously would go for many hours with no new or music, we had connections to CNN, MSNBC, the 60s channel and more! Made for a much better trip! I was skeptical when I bought it that it would work as adverised for the low cost; but it exceeded my expectations.

What's great about it: Easy to install and use daily
What's not so great: Sirrius/XM its an XM product so you have to sign up with XM. I know its one company now, but equipment is different.
Very easy to install. The only real issue is with Sirrius/XM. I have been a
subscriber to Sirrius for 6yrs, no problems. My VW Jetta had sat radio ready. I bought VW Beetle no sat radio. We bought the Snap Sirrus/XM but here's the kicker. I had to sign up for XM. Yep even though the company has merged, the Snap is an XM product. So we had to negotiate another deal with XM. A little bit more in monthly payments.

What's great about it: Portable
Not a bad radio, not enough presets. Has an AUX input for direct connection to in dash radio. I like it because It;s easily swapped from car to car HOWEVER you need to have an XM antena in the car your bringing the radio to. I was under the impression that you did not have to have this unit connected to an external antena.

What's great about it: Decent Reception, Easy to Use, CHEAP
What's not so great: No Bells or Whistles, Display is a little small
When I first picked up the XM Snap, I was taking off on a 13 hour trip. I had just gotten a gift card, and it was on sale for $20 - what a deal! Little did I know how invaluable this thing would become for the next week. It was so nice to have a constant radio station over the course of multiple hours.
The device itself is pretty simplistic, and there really aren't any bells or whistles (but I can't complain for the price). The FM reception is pretty good, and fairly strong in comparison to some other transmitter units I've used. Even in a very large metropolitan area with lots of radio interference, I was able to maintain a decent signal.
If you can get as good of a deal as I did, I'd say go for it! But, if you need something fancier with a bit more options, this may not be the item for you.

What's great about it: Sound quality, reception, ease of installation and use
What's not so great: Display doesn't scroll, wires seem a bit flimsy, using FM tuner requires periodically changing to an empty frequency
I have been pondering springing for satellite radio for quite some time, and I finally got sick of the constant commercials on regular radio. My car stereo is sat-ready, but the unit costs about $240, and I would need to put it in myself to avoid another $200 in installation costs. We had a trip to Florida coming last month, so I went to Best Buy and snagged this neat little device. I figured we could use it in the vehicle used on the trip, then upon returning home I would get it set up in my car. What a great purchase, and on-sale for $20 at that. The only annoyance in my brother-in-law's car was he didn't have the audio input jack, so we had to use the FM tuner and every couple hours change to a new frequency. My car has the input jack, so I use the direct feed cable. The sound quality is incredible. The antenna is very small and unobtrusive, and I got the antenna cable run into my car and hidden away in about ten minutes. The display sits right there by my stereo, easily reached. I love it, I love the satellite radio, and I saved myself several hundred dollars in the process.

What's great about it: Small footprint
What's not so great: waste of time without aux in on radio
I bought this for my wife since she has been wanting XM for some time. I thought her radio had aux in, it did not. So basically it makes a local radio station in your car, but that pretty much sucks. If you were stopped in a spot where you had good coverage, no problem, moving, not so much. I would have opted for something more permanent but the wifes cars has 92000 miles on it and I did not want to spend too much on something that her next car will have no doubt.

What's great about it: Easy installation, quick access to Sirius XM. Portable and can switch to other cars, if need be.
What's not so great: Not enough presets and cannot channel surf while listening to one station.
I had a commander before and while this is smaller and much easier to install, it also has less options for storing stations (5 as compared to 30)and is not as user friendly yet. The one pet peave I have with it is that I can't browse the channels without the station changing. As you turn the channel selector, the station changes. On the commander, you could browse without changing until you saw something else you wanted to hear first.

What's great about it: easy to move from car to car
I bought this for a company car that did not have an aux input or satellite radio already. I needed something that was super portable and that wouldn't have to be "installed" in any way. I never even bothered running the antenna cord through anything and it still worked fine (I would either just stick it on top of the dash or out of the window while I was driving and put it up when I wasn't).
I used it on my personal car too and the aux input is obviously going to be your best bet, but the FM transmitter works fine if you can find a station. I live in the Dallas, TX area and am pretty much always able to find a good enough station to transmit to. I do have more trouble in morning/evening traffic. I don't know why, but it doesn't work as well with a ton of cars around me in stop and go traffic. Otherwise, it was well worth the money!
The lack of many presets and the non-scrolling display are not really deal-breakers for me - I was just desperate to stop listening to CDs and the commercial radio, especially with how much I travel with work.
I would wait for it to go on sale, which happens often, because I don't think it's worth the full price if you're only able to use it through FM. That way you can test it out in the first 5 days of the free trial and see if it's worth buying a subscription for.

This in not a high end receiver by any means, but for functionality and price it simply can't be beat. It plugs right into the 12V adapter and can be easily removed. I use it with the auxiliary connection and it sounds absolutely awesome. Very pleased.
