What's great about it: Great off-axis viewing
What's not so great: It's not a touchscreen
Until someone comes out with superior touchscreen version, the Sony frames are the ones you really want to consider.
The biggest reason I got this one vs. the others has to do with viewing angle. Something most people don't think about when looking at frames since you tend to be looking at them head-on in the store. But, that's not how frames get looked at when they're on a desk. While most frames look good when you look at them straight on, this was THE best frame for looking at just off center. It looked good even at extreme angles (left and right). Try this at the store with every frame and you'll see what I mean quickly. Not to mention the frame is just a quality LCD screen to start with. Bright, good color, good contrast. Everything. Sony really did make a quality product.
The minor irritating stuff is that the menu is not quite as intuitive as you might like it to be. It's livable though. Also, there are no fancy internet features like some of the Kodak models. But, it can store a good number of photos in memory; especially if you crop and resize them yourself.
And, that's the trick to getting the most out of this frame. If you do your own crops and resizes, and especially if you do some quick photo tweaking using something like Photoshop Elements, you can store a lot of quality images.
The only thing I would like to see this frame have is a touch screen. I can live without internet access, but I guess wifi would be nice just to throw files onto the frame without having to drag out the USB cable or reach around to mess with a memory card.

What's great about it: display sharpness, light & sleek
What's not so great: must export photos when using iPhoto
There is an issue with the files iPhoto creates (especially if you have edited them) that makes them unreadable to the frame if you simply drag them over. To get around this, simply select your photos in iPhoto and choose "File->Export". You can even resize the pictures to be 800px (the display size) and get a lot more files in memory.
The display is gorgeous and bright, and and I like that you can turn the sony logo off if you want!

What's great about it: Great display. Compact design. Ease of use.
What's not so great: Progress icon shows during pic transitions. Software install needed to use internal memory.
Overall good value. Display is very impressive. Fairly intuitive interface. Simple to set up especially with external memory. Sleek design. The only things I have found that I don't like is the while the pictures are transitioning, an animated progress icon displays in the middle of the screen. This icon constantly popping up between pictures makes the slideshow less enjoyable. The other thing I don't like is if you want to use the internal memory you have to install Sony software on your computer.

What's great about it: Easy setup, great appearance, above-average LCD screen, lots of options
What's not so great: Higher priced than comparable brands
I bought this as a gift and was very pleased with it. Pictures can be loaded either via USB from your computer or by inserting a preloaded memory card into the frame. If you go with a memory card, the frame automatically starts a slideshow with the pictures on the card once it is inserted. The quality of the LCD screen is above-average for a digital frame, with decent viewing angles and brightness. The user interface is very simple and intuitive. It also has a lot of options for how you want to display your pictures, either singly or in groups, if you want to randomly shuffle the order of your pictures, if you want to display a clock or a calendar alongside the pictures, etc.
One gotcha is that the frame is 16:10 widescreen aspect ratio, which means that normal pictures, which are taken in 4:3 aspect ratio, will either be zoomed in, cropping out parts of the picture, or with black bars on either side. You can choose which option you prefer in the settings. For most people, I think the full-screen option (ie zoomed in) is the best, as it fills the screen entirely, and most personal pictures can be cropped without losing too much impact.
Appearance-wise the Sony frame is a simple glossy black. It doesn't appear to pick up fingerprints and smudges too badly. The bright Sony logo on the bottom of the frame can be turned off permanently in the settings menu, which I appreciated. The frame also has good build quality, with a sturdy metal stand attachment as opposed to a plastic one.

hi Joan recently scanned a lot of my old black-and-white and went through shoeboxes getting all of my old photographs together and put them on DVDs. I copied some of them to memory sticks, and I just plug them into the picture frame and set back and enjoy the memories. Whether it was a great fishing trip. Or maybe a great time in the mountains. With this you will never forget those joyful times that you had. No more one picture looking at all the time. Hope this helps you out. Have a blessed day

What's great about it: Multi purpose usage, frame, clock & calendar!
What's not so great: Not easy to navigate initially. But afterwards okay!
This is not just a digital frame, but also a clock and calendar. I love the colors and the choices of options to use as portrait or horizontal. When not reviewing the pictures you can set it as a calendar and also as a clock.
Great idea. It also allows you to change languages for many country.

What's great about it: The display
What's not so great: The ability to show images from your iPhoto library
I bought this frame for my wife for Christmas. It was easy setting up right out of the box. The remote worked well with the nice interface. The problem came when adding photos from my iPhoto library to the SD card. I added about 900 images and about 100 of the would not appear. I went back to the card, checked to make sure I only used alphanumeric characters (which the instructions recommend) and tried again, and the same problem. Finally I reformated the card, and added the images again, but experienced the same problem. I did some research online and some people had problems with images from iPhoto on a mac, especially edited ones. I contacted customer support through Sony, and was told to refer to the booklet. Unfortunately, I decided to return it, as the display on this frame is amazing and the frame is sharp. It was nice matching our Sony TV.

I bought my parents a PanDigital and the interface is terrible compared to the Sony's.
Pros:
- clear, bright pics
- variety of display functions e.g. with calendar, clock, fade in/out, slide in, multiple pics, random.
- my favorite display is a counter type date and time of photo at the bottom.
- can program time to auto-start and auto-shut off
- frame has a very clean, sharp appearance
Cons:
I think this is supposed to be a 9" frame, but it only measures 8 1/4" diagonally or 7"x 4.5"
