My internet provider was not compatible with this router and gave me nothing but problems. It was difficult to set up and every time the power went out I had to go through a long process to set it up again. When it was working it worked great, but that wasn't often. I'll never buy another netgear router.

What's great about it: Swanky Design & Ease of use
What's not so great: May take some time to setup if not familiar with device.
I use this wireless router in my apartment with our 2 desktops, the roku box, and the wii. Has short range but have no difficulty using in our 600 sq ft apartment. Easy to install and good instructions for setup! And I'm not even really good with this stuff! I highly recommend this product. A+

What's not so great: Dropped connections
I bought this router because my previous netgear router had worked flawlessly. (It is still working) The old router did not have great range and I was looking to upgrade to something that would work on both levels of my condo.
This router was fairly easy to set up however it worked intermittently. Every time I logged on I had to go through the set up routine again and it often droppd the connection while I was in the middle of doing something online. Thinking I had set something up wrong I had my son come over to check it out, and everything was set up correctly. He then checked other online review sites and saw that this was a common problem for this router. I returned the router to Best Buy. They accepted the return without any problems.

What's great about it: Resonably small, inexpensive
What's not so great: Not easy to install, poor documentation, dropped connections
Bought this router because of good experience with a previous Netgear device. This one was a little awkward to setup, plus the Users Manuel is lacking in a lot of respects. I had to dig around the 'net to find two specific answers. Not a friendly device to deploy, but better than some.
Also, it drops my internet connection several times a week, usually after a few hours of inactivity, but sometimes "just because". I'm using the very same ISP at this location as the previous spot with the same computer. No trouble before. with the older router.
I would have gladly spend another twenty bucks to get more ease of installation, better documentation, and more reliable connection.

What's great about it: Great signal, easy setup
What's not so great: No complaints
We've only been using this for about a month, but so far I've been very pleased with its performance. I purchased it because our previous router, while state-of-the-art at the time, had trouble reaching the upper floor of the house (from the main floor).
Setup was straightforward. We're in a WiFi crowded neighborhood, so resetting the base IP and other changes were necessary to operate effectively. The browser-based menu is easy, and the setup wizard for initial installation was a breeze.
It's been great to be able to print, watch Netflix, and browse from any room in the house. For the price, I don't think this router can be beat.
The most fun, though, was when our 17-y-old son saw it, took a picture, and posted it with the caption: "We have an Iron Man Router!!!" :-) (See the product picture if that doesn't make sense...)

What's great about it: Its speed, long range and easy setup
What's not so great: The huge blue light
I had no problems so far with this item. Its fast easy to use and works great with my new products. If there is something you don't know you can call Netgear withing the first couple of months and they will help you out. They helped me with setting up the usage of the 5ghz band. Turns out you must have the right adapter for your computer to see it. The only problem is the huge blue light on the side of the router. It doesn't bother me because I keep outside of my bedroom so it is like a nightlight. But for people that keep it in their bedroom it probably will keep you up all night if you don't cover it up.

What's great about it: Fast connection and easy to set up
What's not so great: The blue light is kind of bright
This router replaced a Cisco medium performance because we needed a router for streaming movies and gaming. This Router was very easy to set up and is super fast. Takes 30 sec. to load a 2.5hr movie on Netflix and doesn't stop half way through to load more of the movie while you are watching it ( which the old router did). Someone can be watching a movie down stair, and upstairs and i could be on the computer watching youtube videos and there was no drag in the connection. Worth the Money to spend, have not used the USB connection yet.

What's great about it: More-than-satisfactory quality for price.
What's not so great: Some intermediate and advanced functions require significant time investment on the part of the user.
I bet on NETGEAR when it comes to routers. However, installation is not all that straight-forward. Also, there are rare surprises by normal operation interruptions. For the most part, though, the router is doing a great job and handling 4 laptops and a Desktop very well. The extras in terms of separate networks and network storage are a great plus. I believe that this router is well-worth the money and reliable. I haven't had the chance of trying other ones so as to specifically compare but this NETGEAR is a very decent solution for rapid home networking.

What's great about it: Performance per Dollar factor
What's not so great: Not "Made in America"... :(
This router is plenty fast, plus I only needed it to go less than 25 feet.
I have no problems with it what-so-ever!
It does what it's supposed to do, period.
There are other brands which are cheaper and some that are more expensive, this was what I thought was best for me and I went with it and am pleasantly surprised.
Easy to set up too!
