Friends had recommended the product , sales person suggested the product but I personally don't like it. Don't like having to import and export to dsafe pictures not very user friendly.
Don't like that I can't return it either after opening it.... Being told Photo Elements is alot better ..
But dont think it worth the cost for first time user..

What's great about it: capabilities
What's not so great: learning curve might be a little steep, but there are a lot of resources out there
Great software, I am just going to have to get used to it.
I wanted all of my photos in one place and it took a while to get them imported correctly. Most of that was my own fault for not exporting them from iPhoto correctly. Once I got them imported though, I like the organization options.
I haven't done much as far as photo processing, but I think it will take me some time to get the workflow down. I am looking forward to using a lot of the features that the software has though.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Powerful, fast, easy transfer of files, organized
What's not so great: Takes a bit for Adobe to send you the student code
This program has helped my Adobe workflow immensely. I have always used Adobe Bridge to organize all my files, but this does it so much more easily, along with giving you a very powerful photo editor.
Everything can be loaded into Lightroom and then placed into other files automatically on your computer, while still being able to see all of your photos in a core location.
The photo editor is very powerful, and though it can not take the place of Photoshop, it is a great companion, plus I find that most editing that needs to be done can be done here. Also the files can be transferred back and forth between the two easily for dual editing.
Great program for beginners also, with the auto correction working wonders for light users, and thousands of great presets available to make you look like a pro editor with a click of on button.
Only complaint is that Adobe is a bit slow getting the key for students out, about a week to a week and a half, doesn't sound like a long time, but it is when you are waiting to get work done.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My wife uses this product a bunch, and it truly is beginning to save her time after an initial learning curve. As with most good Adobe products, the manual is lacking instructions or tips on how to do anything beyond installation, which is my biggest and only complaint at this point.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Lots of tools to edit your photos
Abode offers excellent software when it comes to programs for photography. I've used a number of other programs over the years but found them lacking. That is not the case with this program. I've been very pleased with the results I've obtained. The tutorials are also very helpful.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is a great program and if you can take advantage of the student/teacher discount, it makes the deal even better. For newbies to powerful editing tools, like myself, I would suggest getting a how to guide that takes you through the Lightroom process step-by-step

Lightroom 3 has useful presets that are so easy to use.
There are over dozen new presets that can turn ordinary images into professional photos by just a click of mouse. In particular, 4 different Black and White modes and PUNCH presets are very useful in creating high quality images swiftly. There are even ways to batch process multiple images for easy work flow.
What makes Adobe Lightroom 3 so unique is that it can be used to both organize and edit digital images. Layout is very simple but it has professional features that are almost limitless.
Adobe Lightroom 3 is quickly becoming industry standard for professional photographer and it is being adored by enthusiast and casual snappers since it is so easy to use.
I highly recommend anyone considering upgrading from Lightroom 2 or someone just getting into digital editing.
