What's great about it: Easy to set up
What's not so great: Nothing really.
I got this yesterday, and didn't even have to read the instruction manual. I just plugged one end into the wall outlet and my wireless router. The other end went into the outlet in my home office and two my desktop and laptop. After that everything just worked great and the speed seemed fine. Page loads were much quicker than when I work over wireless. I did a speed test and got the same result as I did when I was plugged directly into my cable modem. The other good thing is that the signal seems pretty constant. Usually I get kicked off my work VPN about once every 20 minutes because the wireless will temporarily fade out. That hasn't happened since I set this thing up.

I moved into a new house recently with no structured wiring and I needed to get my entertainment center wired for use with Netflix, Xbox Live, and my networked TV. I have wi-fi for my other devices. This product works exactly as advertised. I plugged the transmitter in next to my wireless router, and the receiver in the all near my TV. It worked flawlessly the first time and without reading any instructions. I have had no problems watch Netflix on demand or accessing Xbox. The Xbox actually behaves better now than it did with my router.

I have had this kit installed for a couple of months and it has performed flawlessly. Exceptional connection speed when combined with CAT-6 cables. I highly recommend this product for high speed home networks. You won't be disappointed. Unless you have a slower network.

What's great about it: Connection Speed, Ease of Use and Set Up, Range, Consistency

I have been using the Microsoft USB wireless adapter for my xbox for a couple years and have noticed it slow down from time to time and have several frustrating issues when watching Netflix via streaming. At one point I had wired connection and was so happy to never have any hiccups in the system and always wanted a wired connection after that.
Once I moved, a wired connection would not work so I went back to my wireless adapter and had even more problems with connection speed and buffering and it was driving me crazy! Found this powerline adapter and was skeptical at first, but after reading reviews, I decided to try it.
I can not tell you how happy I am! I did not think this would work at all, but you literally hook one up to any wall outlet (after isolating other electronics on the same outlet) and the other to any other wall outlet and the connection is there! I have not had ANY issues with the connection speeds and literally feels like I am directly plugged into the router from the xbox. I mean, technically I am sort of plugged into it via this adapter, but I honestly could not tell a difference between direct wiring and wired while using this adapter on the opposite side of the house. I am currently using this for my xbox and blu ray player and I love the fact that I have two more inputs I could use!
Kudos Rocketfish!

NICE ALTERNATIVE TO WIFI

What's great about it: reasonable price and easy to set up
Wifi via wireless router did not work very well in the back addition to our house without additional boosters etc which was not practical. This product was a great alternative and works very well to carry the signal through the house wiring to the destination (HDTV in family room area).

I didn't know what to expect when I bought this item. It comes in a small box with instructions easy to read. I wanted to connect my Apple TV, Blueray, and Amp (at the same time) to update my software and get access to internet radio, NETFLIX, etc. Once I plugged both sides where I needed it--the unit provided me with instant access to my wireless router and internet. I didn't find our problems with connection speeds when I started using this product. The nice thing is that I can go to any part of the house and connect a computer/laptop (if I don't want to use wireless or am having wireless issues) and connect to my network/internet without any problems. No need to purchase expensive CAT 5 cable to connect your computer/laptop.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Simple operation, multiple Ethernet ports
What's not so great: My local store stopped stocking it
I bought this Powerline Ethernet kit twice. The first time, it worked fine but I decided to return it because I favored WiFi for connecting my Roku to my home network. According to the laptop I plugged into the 4-port switch, I was getting a 100 Mbps Ethernet connection. I was impressed!
Second time I ordered this kit online because my local Best Buy didn't stock it any more. The second time, it never worked. I called Rocketfish tech support, followed the troubleshooting advice given by the very responsive, articulate, and kind tech support agent. Still, the two pieces wouldn't establish a Powerline connection and the agent told me the device was defective. I rate the kit three stars because (1# excellent tech support, and #2) I honestly believe that I received a lemon or the product may be have damaged during shipping. There are too many excellent reviews for the product to be inherently bad. I ended up buying a similar Belkin Videolink 3, which has been working perfectly since I installed it a month ago. The Belkin was also $10 cheaper from another seller.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great for wireless gaming!

What's great about it: Works better than I expected. Great price, for those that don't have hard wired ethernet through out the house.
What's not so great: I have yet to find anything I dislike. If I come across something I will update!
This is a great buy! I have a two story house with my office upstairs, and my xbox downstairs on the opposite side of the house. My wireless signal was only at half it's capacity down stairs when using my xbox, which if your gamer like me, that is very frustrating. I had tried wireless boosters, running a 200 ft ethernet cable down the stairs, all helped only a little. Then I ran across the Rocketfish powerline networking kit and thought I would try it out. It was around $85 if I remember correctly, but I asked if it didn't work if I could return it and was told yes, so it was a win win scenerio. It works great, now I can use the ethernet cable for my xbox, samsung HDTV, and my Directtv DVR, it is great. I was about to give up, and was looking at hundreds of dollars for hard wiring in the walls, this awesome product saved me $ in the long run. I only wish I had found it sooner. Remember, you can take it back if it doesn't work! (at least that is what my local Best Buy said)

What's great about it: Easy Setup and signal speed.
Before purchasing this Powerline Networking Kit for our family XBox system, I tried a wireless N adapter and I already had a signal expander on my network. Downloads for updates and apps took 20 to 30 minutes and occasionally dropped the connection and had to retry downloading. That was frustrating. I researched Best Buys web site for other options other than a wired ethernet connection to our router which is located away from our entertainment area, and came to this Powerline Networking Kit. I was sceptical about it at first because it works through your homes electrical outlets. I purchased this Powerline Networking Kit. Set up was easy and downloads are 1 to 3 minutes and no dropped connection.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this in the gaming section at Best Buy, but I use it to connect my computer and Directv HD DVR to my home network. Works terrific, my desktop computer is faster using this powerline kit then when I used a wireless connection. Far less expensive than the name brand powerline kits a must try when wireless or running cables is not an option.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's not so great: Price is high
This Product is EPIC. used it to link a gateway/wireless router combo to a second wireless router thats downstairs and across the house, now my xbox 360 recieves full bars from the 2nd wireless router. So easy a caveman can do it... much better then a network extender. Wish it wasnt so expensive...and also how it works.

What's great about it: Works perfectly -- exactly as advertised.
What's not so great: It's a little pricey.
This product does exactly what it promises. I was trying to use my XBox 360 as a media extender and got constant connection errors with my desktop over a wireless network. Since plugging this product in I have had absolutely no issues. Windows Media Center pops in a matter of seconds, and my recordings run smoothly with no lag at all. Best purchase I've made in a while.

i bought this for my xbox360. i had never been online with my xbox, only my ps3 and this worked perfectly for it. i had no idea something like this existed until i saw it at bestbuy. it was a good price and i knew it would be worth it so i bought it.
i would def recommend this to anyone who lives in a semi big house like i do where a router sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.

What's great about it: Works... Works GREAT! Just plug and go!!!
What's not so great: bright green blinky lights can be a bit much in a dark bedroom
I was doubtful this would work well based on this technology back a few years ago.
This product works, works well, easy to use and I would recommend it for anyone with the need for wired networking.
We had to have a wired network jack for our older xBox and desktop computer in a very remote part of the house. This product did the trick!

Bought this for my son's Xbox 360. His room is on the second floor, and I really didn't want to deal with a wireless adapter. The router is in my basement.
My house was built in the 1950's, so I was afraid the wiring wouldn't be up to Parr for this device. I believe they suggest that the transmitter and receiver be used on the same circuit when possible. Well, even on separate circuits, and old wiring this things still rocks!!!!
Plus this has 3-4 ports, so when I get an Internet ready TV for his room, I can just plug it right in. Nice.
Can't comment on speed or anything thru this as I haven't tested that. But I know we can stream netflix without a problem thru the 360 connected to it.

What's great about it: Easy set up, works as advertised
This product was marketed as a gaming adapter, but it is a true powerline adapter which means you can use it for streaming of all kinds of media at the highest speeds. I've got my network ready home theater receiver and wireless capable Blu Ray player hooked up. I'm also in the process of configuring a wireless bridge to it for better wireless network connectivity in my great room. Just plug it in and go! Strongly recommend!
