What's great about it: the sound the keys make when you press them
What's not so great: Cost, low profile keys, short battery life
This keyboard is the only wireless keyboard I've ever used, and I like it. It comes with rechargeable batteries and a USB cable to charge the keyboard. It has to be recharged at least every 10 days and frequently more often than that, especially if you want very bright illumination. In fact, if you want the brightest illumination, you must keep the keyboard plugged into the computer constantly, otherwise the batteries will drain in like 10 minutes. This keyboard is not for someone who wants the keyboard to be constantly illuminated. Because it's wireless, the illuminated keys will self-extinguish if you move your hands away from the keyboard for more than 5 seconds. If you want a keyboard that is always illuminated I recommend you buy a wired illuminated keyboard instead of a wireless keyboard. The keys are recessed into the keyboard giving the keyboard a low profile, but also making it extremely difficult to find some rarely used keys by feel, like the Esc key. I really, really, REALLY like the sound that the keys make when you press them, it is very quiet and even sort of soothing. Those of you who have typed on an old keyboard that makes a popping noise when you press the keys will really appreciate the quiet of this keyboard. This keyboard currently retails for $100. There is no way I would spend that much on it again because I'm learning that if you know how to type, the main purpose of an illuminated keyboard is for cosmetic purpose and for only a few dollars more than this keyboard's MSRP you can get a fancy, albeit wired, gaming keyboard that allows you to change the keyboard's colors and has other flashy features and allows the keyboard to be illuminated at all times. Conclusion, this keyboard is very nice but don't buy it if you want a keyboard that stays illuminated 24/7, and if you're already a proficient typist, you will rarely, if ever, need illuminated keys.

What's great about it: Very easy and comfortable to use
What's not so great: Too pricey
Very easy to use right out of the box. Keyboard has many features. Haven't taken the time to read all of the manual yet because the keyboard is almost totally self-explanatory. It's great for working in a darkened room while I watch TV (which was the sole reason I wanted this in the first place.) I set this keyboard on top of my laptop keyboard and it fits perfectly leaving the mouse and clicker area free to use. I love this keyboard.

What's great about it: battery life, wireless, illuminated keys, weight,
I choose this keyboad mainly because of the illuminated keys, but after using it I've noticed how I like it's features and how the look and feel is too. what's cool about this keyboard is you can change the brightness of the keys on the fly or even turn the back-lighting off completely. another cool thing is that it has a touch sensor that makes the keys light up when it hasn't been in use for a while. I don't use all of the F keys but I do like that they're their for my convenience. the battery life is pretty good and lasts longer of course if you don't have the brightness so high all the time which in my opinion isn't necessary. I can't think of anything I don't like about it.. works good for my gaming needs as well.

What's great about it: Wireless and backlit, excellent key feel
What's not so great: Nothing
This is a great keyboard for anyone who is looking for both wireless and a backlit keyboard. It uses an internal battery and charges from your PC using a micro USB cable. So far I have left it in the ON position most of the time and the battery finally needed charging for the first time since I opened it (I didn't charge it right out of the box) after about two weeks. Outstanding battery life.
The keyboard has secondary uses for the F keys that can be mapped to various shortcuts in the software. Pressing the FN key in addtion to one of the F keys will activate the secondary feature. There is also one dedicated shortcut key that defaults to the calculator but can also be mapped to something different.
The feel of the keys is perfect. They have just the right amount of travel distance and provide a good tactile feedback. The backlighting is also very nice, it even detects when you hand is over the keyboard and turns on the backlighting which is a very handy feature.
The USB stub reciver uses Logitech's latest technology which can connect up to 6 devices to the single reciver so you don't need to fill up your USB ports with a bunch of recivers.
This is one of Logitech's premium keyboards and it shows. Wireless, backlighting and a perfect feel to the keys makes this a great option for someone looking for a high end wireless keyboard.

What's great about it: Design, Illumination, High Quality, Proximity Detector, Wireless, Rechargable
What's not so great: I wish there was a true dedicated Mac version
Let’s face it, first impressions count and right out of the box the Logitech K800 impresses with its sleek design. Its matte black finish wards off fingerprints and the clear bezel surrounding it gives an upscale look. The keys themselves are well spaced and full sized; I appreciate the surface contour of the keys, my fingers rest perfectly on them, much better than a Microsoft or Dell keyboard. While typing, the keys give a muted click and have just enough resistance and spring to them that you can tell that this is a keyboard that's not going to fall apart. However, admit it, the real reason you're interested in this keyboard is the illumination. First off, with a nod to customization, there is a brightness control that allows you to go from off to full on white light and anywhere in between. At lower illumination levels the letters are visible and subtle but when you turn up the light the keys really pop, a vibrant white light and at full power you'll see just a hint of an outline around the keys, really sharp and frankly a pleasure to use in a darkened or dimly lit room. I also like that the functions are lit in a warm amber light making them stand out as well. One other interesting feature is the proximity detector that dims the keys when your hands are away and brightens them as you bring your hands to the keyboard; it’s a nifty bit of magic that certainly aids its ability to conserve energy while being a cool feature. On a final note about illumination, I appreciate that the keys are uniformly lit, from the top to the bottom, left to the right and all points in between; the glow is even, consistent and easy on the eyes. The illumination is the standout feature on this keyboard and Logitech nailed it.
Since the K800 is wireless it requires its own power source, rather than contend with AA batteries this black beauty makes use of a built in rechargeable battery that charges with a micro USB connection to your computer as needed. Sure it means having another cord in your drawer but it sure beats AA's in my book. Speaking of connections, it’s very easy to connect the keyboard using the included Logitech wireless receiver, just plug it into a USB port and you’re ready to go, it couldn’t be any simpler.
Before I finish my review let me answer one other question, will it work with a Mac? The answer is yes, pretty well actually. Yes the box says Windows and no the layout isn't really built for Mac but I thought I'd give it a try. Connecting it to my Mac was easy, even though the keyboard was not "recognized" I was able to select a generic keyboard and voila, I was ready to go. The last bit I'll say about Mac compatibility is that not all of the function keys are going to work as you'd expect them to and you'll have to get used to using the Windows key rather than the Command key but frankly it’s just not a problem.
In a way it’s funny, keyboards, like mice are pretty much taken for granted until you use a really lousy one or as in this case one that's truly exceptional. At first pass, you may say that a keyboard's a keyboard but then you'd be missing out on an upgrade that you'd really appreciate. From the excellent design, high quality fit and finish to the tactile feedback and shape of the keys to its rechargeable power source the K800 is a fantastic. When you factor in proximity based illumination you've got a real winner! This is one upgrade that I'd recommend to any user; now, if only they'd release a dedicated Mace version, so until they do I'll happily continue to use the K800 with both my PC and my Mac.

What's great about it: Easy to install and easy to use and it is backlit!
What's not so great: The cord is strictly for recharging.
This is an excellent keyboard that fills several needs on the market. It has quiet, gentle and BACKLIT keys! Rechargeable internal batteries ARE included. Yes this is a cordless keyboard that lights up! It is ideal for laptop and notebook users who complain about the size of their keyboards. It is great for use on a standard PC and has large letters for people who may have a hard time seeing. It has excellent response time and seems to function well in the same room with other wireless devices. The battery life seems to be good after the initial charge. It is on par with my wired gaming keyboard for response time.
The keyboard senses motion over the keys before you touch it. This is very nice feature that saves on the battery. I had no problem installing it on several systems without the need for drivers. I installed it on an old laptop with Windows XP and on several other systems up to Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. The drivers are probably best if you just download them from Logitech’s website. The ones that come with it are also serviceable. After several days of continuous use there were no complaints or failures. The battery life is more than adequate for normal computer use. Gamers may want to run with the cord installed or at least make sure it is on charge when not in use. I charged it and left it for 4 days and it retained the charge so it will be fine in the office for a weekend.
My only complaint is that it comes with a wire that uses a USB port that is there for the sole purpose of charging the battery. It doesn’t allow for wired use so if you are running short on USB ports you may have to wait or remove another device while it charges. This is a very small complaint as most computers have ports to spare.

What's great about it: Easy setup, Wireless, Illuminated Keys!, Battery life, FN keys.
What's not so great: USB recharging cord is kinda short.
Goodbye old keyboard and hello Logitech K800 Wireless Illuminated Keyboard. This has got to be the best keyboard I've used in recent years and I've been through countless Keyboards over the years. The Ergonomics of this keyboard design is Excellent! I am blown away at how comfortable it is to use and the factor of the whole thing is just so sleek; it almost look like the keyboard is floating on your desk. I haven't enjoyed typing like this in years. The feedback of the keys are responsive and my fingers just fly with each loud click coming from the keys.
Another thing I love about this keyboard is that the "FN" keys are just perfect for using. Thanks to the Illuminated keys (which I will get to in a minute.) The "FN" Keys light up a golden-yellowish making them easy to spot on the keyboard. Everything from playing music to opening up your E-mail and Searching Online for content are all there with a stroke of a key. Calculator key works on the fly to sitting beautiful on the right hand side and well lit.
The whole thing that brings this keyboard together is the Illuminated keys and more then likely this is what your buying the keyboard for. This is a flawless design! I can now type in the dark without disturbing other family members with the light on. The keys are nice and bright and you can set the brightens up and down with the "FN" keys F5 and F6. It doesn't matter what time it is in the day it makes the keys easy to see and blast away at typing. No more fading out letters on my old keyboard due to the light shining through them. At the top right side of the keyboard is a on and off switch so you can choose if you can have the light on or not. Logitech did a GOOD job on making this keyboard. Outstanding build quality.
It was easy to setup and its light weight so you can carry it around the room if you so choose. Battery life of this keyboard have been excellent lasting me longer then 21/2 weeks before recharging. it gives you a 3 bar indicator over the Mute key letting you know just how much battery life you have left. Tap the "FN" key with F7 to check your status of the battery. The USB recharging cord is somewhat short through.
Overall this well-lit keyboard is beautifully designed. It just feel like a very well designed wireless Illuminated keyboard. Something that's just so easy to use and I just can't stop giving good praises to it. This is a must buy especially if you have a hard time typing in the dark. its worth the price. My girlfriend also loves this thing and I may buy another one for her. This is a product I will always recommended to others.

What's great about it: The Illumination, the motion sensing, no disposable batteries needed, great looking.
What's not so great: I really couldn't find fault with it.
How much can you say about a new wireless keyboard? For the Logitech K800, quite a lot!
This is a nice keyboard and definitely a step up from the “norm”. Very simple to set up, it took just 2 minutes from removing it from the box to using it. Simply slide the supplied wireless USB receiver plug into your PC, turn on the wireless function, (on/off switch), on the top of the keyboard, the keys light up and away you go, ready to use. Very simple and pretty snazzy!
You can’t miss something you’ve never had, and I’ve never had an illuminated keyboard before so it never even crossed my mind as being a need. However, after using this keyboard now for 10 days I wonder if I’ll ever be able to do without the illumination? It’s a great feature and I’ll recommend this to anyone. I use this keyboard in a fairly dimly lit office that also suffers with poor ambient light, and I have to say, it’s been an absolute blessing in that environment.
A nice surprise that I wasn’t expecting was the auto motion sensor in the keyboard that senses when your hands are hovering over the key board, and this immediately turns on the backlight illumination across all the keys, and vice versa, when you remove your hands away from the keyboard the backlight dims to off very quickly. The keys remain visible but not illuminated while not in use. It also has brightness self sensing, adjusting its brightness to the current lighting environment, which is a nice feature and saves manually making that adjustment for varying conditions. The sensor turns off the backlight in about 3 seconds when it senses no activity of the keys, or no hovering hands, and therefore gives maximum battery conservation.
The built in battery is also a plus and removes the need to mess with disposable batteries, and the keyboard comes with a charging cable that simply plugs into any USB port on your PC to re-charge, (perfect for overnight re-charging use), and there’s a low battery indicator on top of the keyboard next to the on/off switch. Battery life to date has been excellent; I’ve used the keyboard on and off over 10 days without a re-charge.
Use of the “smart” keys, (FN Keys), is easy and straight forward for instant access to launching the web, music/media player, email, search engine, calculator and much more.
This key board has a nice, slim, modern feel to it, predominantly black in color but with an eye catching white side flare around its inward slopping edges. It’s a very neat and tidy looking keyboard with an extended front palm rest, which is wider than a standard keyboard and gives it that more ergonomic feel and look.
The illumination on a keyboard is now a must have, must stay feature for me. It makes everything else I’ve had or used seem a bit dated. Nice job Logitech! It’s a very nice product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Adjustable Illumination, Excellent Ergonomics, Fantastic Battery Life
What's not so great: Grasping at Straws......
Hello,
The Logitech K800 is truly one of the best additions to my PC Peripheral Collection perhaps ever. Since switching from a Macbook Pro to an Asus K53e Notebook, I have been without an Illuminated Keyboard for my Notebook. As Backlighting is almost universally reserved for quite expensive Notebooks and Desktops, at 99 Dollars, the K800 is an excellent way to add this feature to both in a relatively cost effective manner..
Initial Setup could not have been easier on both by Desktop and Notebook with the necessary Drivers being easily and automatically installed after inserting the USB Input,, The K800 does come with a Disc of Drivers/Software for Computers where this is needed. However, I have not needed it with my Windows 7 PC's.
In addition, Battery Life has been amazing. I have not needed to charge the Keyboard in around 2 Weeks which for a Fully Illuminated Keyboard is truly impressive, Note, you change the Illumination Level with the press of a button. I have used the Default Setting. I can only imagine how long it lasts if used darker.
The Ergonomics are excellent as well. This truly might be the easiest to type on Keyboard I have ever used. Just a very comfortable Keyboard.
I usually can easily find faults in products, but I would be disingenuous to do so here, While not inexpensive, the K800 is truly money well spent.
Cheers,
JJ

What's great about it: Great Looks, functionality, back-lighting, easy to charge, USB button & cables
What's not so great: I cannot find anything negative about this keyboard - It is great!
Fortunately for me, I had purchased one of these units about a year ago, so I had already tested it to the MAX. I am typing my review on it right now, so I can tell you that this is one of the nicest keyboards I have ever used. The feel is smooth and fairly quick (if you are a fast typist like myself typing about 80 words a minute, it will slow you down until you get used to it, but eventually I adjusted to it). It also has the 10 key number-pad, as well as extra buttons for various Windows functions.
The back-lighting is fantastic because it will adjust toe the light of the room. As I type, it is about Noon in my room and the lighting is very low. It lights the 'white' part of the letters, so even in daylight, it helps you to see the letters clearly. The 'rechargeable' batteries are included and hold a charge for weeks at a time, and I leave this unit on continuously. It will power down automatically after about 10 seconds of non-use. It comes back immediately once you touch any part of the top panel.
It comes with 2 different cables so you can charge it with your USB port, or use it 'hot-wired' to the computer without using a button. I use mine with the button in the USB port, so there are no wires. I plug it in about once a month to charge up the batteries. I can even access the BIOS (first boot screen) on my All-in-One desktop with this keyboard. It is found as soon as you boot up the computer. I love this keyboard, as you may have guessed, and would recommend it to anyone. It is worth the price if you are on your computer for a great deal of time.

What's great about it: Quiet, backlit, rechargeable, long lasting charge, useable while recharging
This backlit keyboard is a great value for the price. It is lasting well on a charge, I am at 14 days. It charges via USB and can be used while charging. Further, up to 6 of these new logitic devices can share a USB transmitter so I am using one tiny transmitter for both the keyboard and mouse. The touch of the keyboard is very nice and the backlighting comes on as your hand move over the keyboard, doesn't even require a touch...nice feature when one wishes to begin to type in a darkend environment as you don't have to touch a key like you do on my laptop. Also, this keyboard is very quiet. All in all a great purchase and I will be replacing all of my keyboards with this model and mice with the Performance Mouse MX.

What's great about it: backlighting, easy setup, light touch, simple recharge with long charge life
The backlighting is great especially when you need to access your computer but don't want to turn on the lights! Easy to install and setup; plug and play! The keys are a little different in size from my last wireless keyboard so it took awhile to get used to the placement but the keys are responsive and easy to see! The battery life is great and easy to recharge fromthe USB overnight! I am finding that Logitech is producing quality products and creating product loyalty!

What's great about it: Rechargeable battery, ergonomic design
What's not so great: Separate adapter
When I received the Logitech K800 wireless keyboard, I figured great, how does one review a keyboard? In my opinion, they're all pretty much the same. However, the Logitech K800 has several features that set it aside from other keyboards.
Initially, I was impressed by the backlit keys. I didn't think that it would be a feature that made much of a difference to me, until I used it for awhile. I have this keyboard paired with my media PC. Generally, this PC never leaves WMC. Occasionally though, I do use this PC for photo editing and writing important documents because of the 46" screen.
The backlighting makes it much easier to see what it is you are pressing when it comes to the function keys.
Another great aspect of it is the ergonomic form and the light touch of the keys when typing. I spend many hours a day on a computer and thus Carpel Tunnel has taken its toll. With this keyboard, it minimized the need for corrected positioning because of its great design and easily pressed keys.
One of the best aspects of this product is the rechargeable battery. These days, almost everything is powered by either USB or disposable battery. It was refreshing to have a product that doesn't require me to run to the store in the middle of an important term paper, because my batteries went dead (as they inevitably do whenever something very important needs to be typed up).
One thing I would like to see, it one universal adapter for every wireless Logitech product. I have a Logitech Mini keyboard/mouse, and it has bluetooth connectivity. It would have been nice not to have 2 separate wireless adapters. Other than that small criticism, i have no other problems with the keyboard.
In conclusion, I would definitely suggest this product to anybody who wishes not to be tethered to their computer by USB, and wishes to avoid those inevitable midnight battery runs.

What's great about it: Functionality, Fit, and Finish, back lighting A+
What's not so great: No onboard storage for nano receiver
Logitech has always produced very nice accessories for computing and gaming and this wireless keyboard is no exception.
The unit uses a USB nano receiver for communication with your device and is ideal for laptops and desktops. The receiver can stay in place without being vulnerable or catching on things. If you use your laptop on the go and then like to set up a home office environment with larger screen, full size keyboard, and standard mouse, the receiver can stay in your laptop full time and make the transition from home to on the go very easy.
To ensure that you don't have to permanently tie up too many USB ports for all your wireless devices, the new nano receivers and compatible devices use the Unifying technology which allows the use of one nano receiver for multiple devices. Basically, you can have one receiver work for both mouse and keyboard at the same time. Unfortunately, older Logitech mice, which I have several of, are not compatible with Unifying receivers so you will have to upgrade your mouse to take advantage of that. Still, if you have a limited number of USB ports on your device, Unifying technology is the way to go.
The back lit keys are the best part after considering the flawless wireless connectivity and performance. The keyboard automatically adjusts back light brightness based on ambient light levels so the back lighting is never too dim or bright for most conditions. When I connect the laptop to the HDTV, the wireless keyboard allows me to surf and control my laptop w/o having it on my lap. Coupled with a Logitech mouse, you can compute comfotably from your couch on your HDTV and do it in the dark. Great for late night video streaming and surfing on the big screen.
I could go on about the power conservation with auto back light sleep, the long battery life, and the no hassle plug and play functionality, but the review would never end. You can't go wrong with this keyboard. It is built solidly with superb fit and finish. This keyboard meets and exceeds the performance and value I've come to expect from Logitech.

What's great about it: Works great, right out of the box.
What's not so great: Only backlighting is white.
Hi all,
Have been using a keyboard from Saitek for several years, largely because I'm a "10-finger" typist and don't NEED to see the keys, but also because it had various colors of backlighting that looked nice on my desk when the other lights were turned off. After numerous complaints from other people about their inability to use my keyboard with most of the letters worn off, + this new one showing up as a Christmas gift and strong hint from my wife (one of those other users), I finally had to replace it with this one. The Logitech keyboard works very well, and is quite comfortable. In fact... it's probably much nicer than the one I used to have...but the only backlighting it has is white. In short, it completely lacks blue, green, and purple backlighting to make my desk look nice with the lights out. ;-(

What's great about it: Illuminated Wireless
I have just ordered a custom build computer and wanted to get all new peripherals. I had spent an hour looking at keyboards and mice at Best Buy and had done a good bit of poking around online for reviews. I was not looking for a wireless keyboard but was intrigued by the fact that I could have a single receiver for both a keyboard and a Logitech wireless mouse. (They call this a ‘Unifying Receiver’) So I also got a Logitech M510 wireless laser mouse.
I installed the receiver on the front of my computer and connect the mouse first. It was found right away and away I went. I next took the keyboard out and turned it on. Needed to ‘cycle’ the on off switch 2 times to get the receiver to see the keyboard but this must have been a first time thing as the unit has always connected right away since then. I do enjoy bringing a new product and setting it up with no muss and no fuss.
Unit does have a USB cable for charging the batteries. At first I thought this was going to be a major hassle as I feel rechargeable’ s do not last as long but after getting everything organized it was all fine. (Logitech not only supplied a USB cable but also a USB extension cable. This allowed me to connect the cable to the back of the computer and route it with my speaker cables. I used the supplied Velcro cable ties to secure the keyboard end to the back of the right hand speaker with a ‘service loop’ that can reach the back of the keyboard. When not in use I just fold it back behind the speaker.)
The keyboard itself is wonderful. The adjustable backlighting works as advertised and the programmable Function Keys are easily programmable (but you do need to download the keyboard and mouse management software from Logitech). I have years of using standard DELL keyboards and there has been some adjustment to slight layout difference between the units. I found the actions of the keys to be very nice but this can be very personal thing so I’d recommend going to the store to try them for yourself….I have used keyboards that one person would rave about only to find that I hated using it so always give it a try.
