What's great about it: Very useful in business
What's not so great: price
It is what I expected, since i Have used the programs before. I think the upgrades are a little high in price. I used to have the student version, which didn't have Outlook, so I bought the Home and Business. I really could use Publisher, but it isn't worth the extra money. I can only recommend buying the student version unless the other things are absolutely necessary in your business..

What's great about it: Has great tools inside.
What's not so great: Sometimes finding some simple features takes a long time.
Outlook for mail merge is a good, and it works very well for bulk emails to an organization.
Office 2010 is much different from the old 2000 version and takes some getting used to it. I'm not sure that it is an improvement. Time will tell. Many Excel features are better, but also are hard to find.

I like this. I needed it for college & it fulfilled my needs. I especially liked 'Microsoft OneNote.' I save a lot of notes to it, even though I haven't quite figured it out.

I was not completely happy with this product. I had to return to the store twice to try and get it activated after I bought it online along with my computer. The store associates could not figure out what was wrong with the card. Finally, I contacted Microsoft after 2 phones calls I was able to get someone to give me a correct activation pin so that I could use this product on my computer.

What's not so great: Activation or lack of...
Three days now and I have yet to get my pre installed software to work on my new computer. I have repeatedly attempted to put in my pin to get a product key, always down however it lets me create an account. I honestly don't waste the time to call, no point, just more frustrating.

What's great about it: nothing
What's not so great: what a pain to manually do the automatic installation
The automatic retrieval of the product key failed twice with the attempts being days apart. Upon calling help after having to search like mad for their number, I was informed that the microsoft web site had been down for days!!! Is this a tech company? The installation was a major pain and left me frustrated before I could even open an application. Nice job Microsoft!

What's great about it: The software
What's not so great: Making it hard to activate
My problem is not with the product itself, but the difficulty with getting it up an running. The product was preinstalled. This should make it easier and not harder. First you are not given a product code but a pin number to get a product code. If it was on a CD you would have the product code with the CD. Next if you run into a problem like I have, where some how after the product code was enter it does not recognize the code any more, I have no way of reloading the program to reenter the code. I tried to get help on line but was told I have to call them on the phone to correct this kind of problem. Wish me luck.

What can I say other than the new MS office is so different from older versions and more difficult to adjust settings. The layout and functionality seems to have been created by a child. It has a sloppy layout and ergonomically not setup for ease of use. Poor job by Microsoft.

Office Upgrade -

This software upgrade has so many changes from the version available from 2005. It does take some getting used to as many routine items in Word or Excel are not where you expect to find them. A MS Office user can use the product but may find they spend a good deal of time search for the little things like routine icons, etc. that initial overalll production is lower. I had to call for assistance a few times to find basic things like the 'open file' icon in Word. Luckily I have IT tech people who are related and I was able to get this assistance quickly and free.
Overall a good product but be prepared for a learning curve.

What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Ultra slow
I use Outlook 2003 at work extensively and like it.
It's fast and easy to use, even in a large scale, networked
environment with large messages and attachments, etc.
But 2010 Home Edition is horrible.
Even with no network, just doing simple, routine, stuff locally,
like moving msgs from inbox to other folders,
it's extremely slow, almost to the point of being unusable.
CPU shows high 90% idle but
Outlook is taking minutes even hours to do these routine things.
Importing old emails from Outlook Express is a huge effort
and very slow, taking many hours, 20+.
It locks up frequently and never recovers.
It has to be killed through the task manager and restarted.
Can I get my money back?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: e-mail separated by accounts they belong to.

What's great about it: Word
What's not so great: Would not load properly.
Office did not load properly.
Specific gripes: The guys at BestBuy told me that the version
of Office that I'd purchased would be loaded on the machine,
and that an on-line login with a typed-in key would activate it.
Nope. The on-line key triggered a one-hour download of the
version I'd purchased. Then, it would not load correctly, so I
spent nearly 4 hours on the phone with Dominic in India getting
a good version loaded and running.
Thanks to Dominic, it finally works. But it shouldn't have
taken that extra 3+ hours to get going. And even if it had
worked first time out, the thing should have been preloaded
as advertised. And I have to be honest -- had I not needed
Word, I never would have gone through the bother of getting
Office going.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
