What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Nothing
This was my first projector and it has exceeded all expectations. Pictures are crisp and clear and the projector is so quiet you can't tell that if it is running! The lens was easy to adjust. I ran a line from my cable box and watched the quarter round of the NHL playoffs. It was like being on the ice! Had the unit for about six weeks and no complaints. Just ordered a larger screen. Hope to receive before Stanley cup.

I was Skeptical at first with a projector, i have always had lcd and led back lit lcds. we were putting in a home theater in the basement and wanted something with a large screen size. the projector was the best value for screen size, and this projector is a beast. the picture out of the box was pretty good, after adjusting a few things and painting the flat white screen on the wall the picture is crisp. the projector is only about 10 away from the way b/c of basement dimensions but we still got a 95" screen size and that is the limitation of the space not the projector. We have it mounted to the ceiling flipping the picture was simple.
some reviews add negatives about no audio out, but i do not expect a projector to have these, that is what my receiver is for.
Overall great price for a really good projector.

What's great about it: Great picture.
What's not so great: A few minor issues
It is a great projector. The picture is awesome for the price. I had a few issues and ended up returning it twice, the last time for good. The first projector, on power up, would get intermittent auto-iris errors, even when the auto-iris wasn't enabled. I would have to unplug the projector because it became completely unresponsive on a couple occasions. The second one, the auto-iris was audible from 5 feet away. You could hear it clunking away. It also got the auto-iris errors on power up, but not as often, and I was able to power it down with the remote when it happened (no unplugging). I ended up getting the Epson 6010 for $2300 more because I didn't want my wife calling me to tell me she got "the iris error" again. If it was just me using it, I would have kept it for the price. No sense in spending the extra money for a few little issues. From the little research I did, the issues are correctable with firmware updates. I don't know why Best Buy doesn't do them before they sell it. They wouldn't have had 2 projectors returned and I wouldn't have spent $3500.

What's great about it: Brightness, color and clarity
What's not so great: Size
I replaced an old Panasonic 720p projector with this projector and WOW what a difference. The picture is much more bright and crisp while not getting washed out by the smallest amount of ambient light. The projector is very quiet while running and when in cool down mode. The lens shift feature is a must have feature which really works well. The only downside to this projector is its size. It is almost twice the size of my old projector which meant that I had to replace my celling mount and use the lens shift to center the picture.

What's great about it: Picture quality
What's not so great: Nothing really
Projector works and looks very good. Yes a 5000 + projector will look better but only the pickiest people would be unhappy with the picture quality. If you are at all concerned about installing this yourself let me tell you the projector is very forgiving on projector alignment. Just set it close to the middle of your screen and you can easily shift the projector lens to center it on the screen. The biggest concern would be to make sure it sits level since you will have to adjust mounting hardware to level it. There are no dial type adjustments for leveling the projector.

What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: Nothing yet!
We had our reservations about installing our media room. This was all new for us. Now that it is complete, we do not know why we did not do it sooner. If the lights are all the way up, yes, the colors will wash out some. But whats the fun of watching a program on TV, a great movie, or playing the WII with the lights way up? We turn down the dimmer and then, wow, what a picture! It looks better in our room than it did in the store! While we are seated in our theater seats and immersed in our surround sound watching 106" of media, we have no desire to ever head to the theater again!

What's great about it: Quality of the picture
What's not so great: Best Buy - Geek Squad service
Epson's support for their 8350 is very good. I had a problem after a year and they surmised the bulb was bad, eventhough the bulb warning light did not blink. They sent me a bulb next day air and I had my machine working!.
Best Buy, however, I had taken it to the store since I purchase the Geek Squad Black Tie Protection did nothing! They said that they would have to send the projector off for 4 weeks and refused to order in a bulb since they thought that that might be the problem.
I spent the $260 dollars for just this protection and was assured by the salesman that this very thing would be taken care of.
Buy the projector, but the protection plan rates pretty much ZERO

What's great about it: Value
What's not so great: Size
This projector is a great value. If you don't have to have 3D, then this one deserves serious consideration. I have it in my den with controlled lighting and it is very bright and clear. The college bowl games were fantastic. I was concerned that the movement would be blurry, but that turned out not to be a concern. I can't wait until NASCAR begins!
For an entry level system, this one is awesome!

What's great about it: Price!
My first projector, so I can not speak for the picture quality vs. other projectors... However, with no experience, I was able to simply plug it in, and aim it at a wall (with a slight blue tinted paint) and still get a fantastic 140"+ 1080p picture! Can't wait to get a proper screen and ceiling mount it. Very happy with this purchase!

I purchased the Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 8350 Projector about 2 months ago and all I could say is that it is amazing. I have it set up about 14 feet away from the wall that I have it projecting on and get a picture greater than 100". Everybody that sees it mentions that the picture is awesome. It is so easy to use and the setup took less than 5 minutes.

What's great about it: Great performance for the price.
What's not so great: It is big.
I replaced a 7 year old Benq projector with this Epson. After some work running the HDMI cable, and a different piece for my Chief mount, this projector was easy to set up and get working. The manual focus/picture shift was easy to use, and I don't have a problem with that feature being manual, instead of via a remote. For something you use very little, I am sure it helps keep the cost down. The Epson is only slightly larger than my Benq so the size wasn't an issue for me. The picture quality on 720p is very good, and 1080p is simply excellent. I have a somewhat light-controlled room, but I was always hesitant about using the Benq during the day. The Epson is about 33% brighter, and there are no issues with using it during the day. And I don't even have to put it in bright mode to do so. You can spend a lot more money on a projector, and I have, but I feel that for all but the most scrutinizing video enthusiast, this projector should deliver a great experience!

Bestbuy.com WILL NOT price match Amazon or other internet sellers. If you go into a Best Buy store...they will price match. This is my first projector. I am very happy with it so far. It has been a few days since this went on. At first the pictures looked dull. Once I flipped it to dynamic mode, the picture quality was great.
I compared it to optoma hd20 and hd 120 and I liked the fact that this one gave me lens shift and ease of mounting.
I have 2 windows in the room with the shutters closed the picture is very good and bright enough. I just hooked up netflix and Blue ray player so far. I plan on bringing my ps3 to this place.
I placed my receiver and the components in the back of the room instead of the front to avoid any lcd lights glowing when I watch the movie.

What's great about it: Picture quality, brightness, bulb life (4000 hours)
What's not so great: No Keystone function and aspect ratio that doesn't work.
This replaces a BENQ 1080i DLP projector which required a darkened room for viewing. The Epson has a great picture (1080p) and works fine with a lighted room using dynamic mode. There is no keystone correction function so you have to mount it fairly level and centered. There is an aspect ratio function that doesn't work with HDMI input. So if a movie was in letterbox, thats what you see. However this short comming from Epson was fixed with my Samsung Blu-ray player, which allowed me to fill the entire screen with it's aspect ratio function. Add a Logitech Z5500 1000w sound system and you'll enjoy great movies, sports, games and even Airplay for the Ipad. Flight Simulator works great on a big screen.
