I have had the device 5 days. Used it twice for two hour long skype calls, and my 3 gig plan is all used up. Not that I would have known that as the internet porthole where you can check your time is not set up. In fact I have called customer service every day about some problem with the device, each time they told me that I have used very little of my time. Until it ran out in the middle of an interview. Terrible service a waste of money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Connection everywhere I go, fast, easy to use
What's not so great: Short battery life
I bought this because some of my class, including me, paid to go to Washington D.C. for a program called Close Up. At first I thought I would need a 5 gigabit plan but was wrong. I only used just less then a gigabit which tells me I need to spend less on the plan choices. After I got it set up it was simple to connect to my laptop and IPad. After using it for sometime at home n in Washington, this divice was three times faster which is great. There is nowhere I do not get connection.
The only con about this item is the battery life, I wish they made it where you can charge it and use it at the same time.

What's great about it: size and ease of use
What's not so great: easy to lose because it is so small
I purchased a Verizon Wireless MiFi 2200 No-Contract Intelligent Mobile Hotspot to use on a trip, as well as a $50 one month airtime usage card. And have been pleased with it.
It hooked up to my laptop easily and the pre-paid card loaded quickly, but the laptop did not come up, but my iPod touch did. I called into the Verizon help line, and they quickly walked me through set up and in no time the unit was working well.
I took it on the train, and it worked, used it throughout the trip in a number of places up I-95 from Central Florida to Washington DC, Sometimes the connection was slow on my laptop, but the iPod became my device of choice to use, it always connected (sometimes slower than others).
The biggest issue I had was when the unit was turned off and in my pocket it would turn on , I found by putting it front to front with my iPod stopped that!
At the end of my week long trip I had only used 100mg of the card, so there is still plenty of usage left for the rest of the month!
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Device does what it says and for a good price.
What's not so great: Wish Verizon would offer the 5GB for $50 similar to competitors
Bought this little device for solution to where I do not have WiFi connection when traveling. I'm on a no contract plan and will use device 4 or 5 times a year. Used it in PCB and in Clearwater, Fl and It worked great and the speed is fast even with 3 computers on it at the same time. The setup was harder due to the device was picking up my phone creating conflict for the signing up of prepaid minutes. Called the toll free number and Verizon walked me through it and made sure I was connected. Verizon you were awesome. The device did all that it indicated and even the battery life. So I would recommend over standard USB devices to anyone who needs high speed internet that doesn't break the bank and connect up to 5 WiFi devices. Many You-Tube videos.
I would recommend this to a friend!
