What's great about it: Worked with nothing else to install
Works under Windows 7 out of the box. No drivers to install. Instructions talk about software needed at windowsgaming.com for windows XP but I could not locate the software. Tried just plugging it in and it worked fine.
Have been running into many windows based games that only support the xbox 360 controller so now I have one.

What's great about it: great price, no batteries, long cable
I bought this to play pc games Windows 7 computer. It works great. You plug in the controller and go download the drivers from the website that goes with your windows. And that's it. This is the best controller i have bought for pc.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: price is great, no batteries needed,
I went out and bought this controller because i needed one for my Xbox AND PC gaming. It is great because it was compitable and on sale $28. The cord is not a problem because my gf will use it mostly on her pc wich is usually right infront of her.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: multi-functional, firm buttons/sticks/triggers, no batteries required
What's not so great: cord can be a hassle especially at close enclosures (such as a computer desk), D-Pad still circular, price
Pros:
-Can't beat the originally certified controllers from Microsoft. These are the best you can get, and they last very long (as long as you take care of them).
-The safety release has been one of the greatest innovations since the earlier console days and it's certainly a great feature they kept for the current gen consoles.
-Corded, so there's no worrying about stopping to change batteries or having to use the plug-n-play (that broke on me after a while).
-Buttons, analog stick and triggers feel firm and durable.
-Can be plugged into a computer's USB hub and play Games For Windows Live flawlessly.

What's not so great: Service
Great that you can buy the must have clear wired controller for the granddaughter however looking for extension breakaway cable so she play without sitting directly in front of the TV? Was told Best Buy doesn't carry Xbox accessories? Huh? Since when? Was adding another to the one we a,ready have-Called 3 different Best Buy Stores local to me- WORST service - on hold 25 minutes at one, finally gave up after calling back twice,hung up on both times? 2nd location- on hold 20 minutes and no attempt to help whatsoever, got a manager who told me to " upgrade" to wireless? ( got for Christmas from a Best Buy store?) and that she manages that department and never heard of it? 3rd store to,d "she was busy" and could we call back later? (almost as much service as the purchase of the controller- how dare I interrupt the salesperson from her texting to expect direction to locate an item and spend my cash there? ) ......final result .... Called large chain competitor- great help - had what we needed in less than 5 minutes and GREAT service- lost a long term customer here and someone needs to remember that" service" stills means you should expect some!

I kept hearing about how good Xbox 360 controllers were good for computers. They are great. Set up was easy just plug it in and let Windows install the necessary drivers. Works for all the games I have. I think the controllers though could be a little less in price.

What's great about it: Durable, long cord, worth the cost.
Even though wireless controllers may be the standard package, a wired controller is much more reliable in the long run and better for competition. Since it doesn't use a battery pack, the controller is much lighter.
A wired controller never lags and a player will never have to worry about battery life or signal interference, as well as not having to synchronize a controller to a console.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's not so great: Durability
The controller is my second favorite, it feels great, installs easily on windows vista and newer. The chatpad will not work on the pc unless you use third party software tough. I saw cheaper controllers but I opted for Microsoft. The worst thing is that after I moved, it is really picky about how the wire lays!
All in all, it is a great controller.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: absolutely amazing controller
What's not so great: nothing that wont make me not buy it
The only reason I didnt give this controller a 100% score is because its somewhat expensive at $40 and the analog sticks could have more grip on them. My thumbs slip a lot on a new controller. There are few controllers that compare to this one, especially for FPS games. These controllers will last forever if you treat um right. I have only ever needed my original controller and after 5 years I broke it over a game of Black Ops. Havent played the same since I broke the poor guy. Theres no reason to ever buy a 3rd party controller with this system unless its a Razer Onza which is equally as good. And this wired controller will get the job done for less money and you dont have to fiddle with batteries, buying rechargeable ones or anything of that junk. Better for the hardcore online players.

What's great about it: Cheaper than the wireless version
What's not so great: Cable length could be a bit longer
In certain environments, wired controllers are necessary which is why I picked up this one. Besides the obvious wire, it's identical to its untethered brother.
