A wonderful vacuum for any busy home! Between my busy two year old and our three dachshunds. This Dyson is a fabulous addition to my cleaning arsenal. After doing my own bagless comparison with Hoover, Infinity, and the Dyson Animal DC24. The Dyson still picked up after each vacuum that performed before it. I honestly thought my home was cleaned deeply before. Since I added this Dyson, now I know it is fact my home is at its cleanest! NOW if Dyson would make a carpet steam cleaning machine I'd convert completely to Dyson :D

What's great about it: Suction power was fantastic
What's not so great: short power cord, more for a studio apartment
I returned this vacuum because it was too small for my home, but would be fantastic for a small apartment because the cord length isn't so long.
But the vacuum is very powerful!

What's great about it: Sucks hard.
What's not so great: Does not have a bumper to protect the walls.
This was my 2nd Dyson and this one sucks just as much as my first one and it sucks more than most of the competition. It was a little pricy for how much it sucks, but given that it has a 3 year warranty means it'll suck in a few years just as much as it sucks today, can't say that for a lot of the cheaper vacuums. My only complaint, besides the price, is that it lacks a protective bumper around the front of the vacuum, so hitting a wall or furniture could cause some damage to the vacuum or thing being hit. The dirt tank is a little small, so if you need to clean a large home you may want to consider the larger model.

What's great about it: Perfect size for the amount of carpert/rugs we have
What's not so great: Wish the hose was longer.
My mother has the bigger version of this Dyson. It's fabulous for those of us who have pets. Our house is wood and tile but we have several large area rugs and 3 dogs. This little vac tackles them just fine as well as our microfiber sofas. It's easy to clean and maintain. Great value for the money.

My old Dyson Animal was on the fritz (8 yrs old), rather than get it fixed, my husband decided to go out and replace it. He bought the DC 24. At first I thought it was cute. I'm all of 5ft, so I appreciated the small size. I have a golden retriever and 2 young kids, so a good vacuum is a necessity . This vacuum is horrible . It hardly had any suction, the canister is ridiculously small. The cord is so short I can't vaccum my L shaped living room dining room without changing plugs. The extender to vacuum ceilings, etc is so short, not good for a short person. I felt like I was going to break the vaccum when I used it. I hated it. I would vacuum over a dog hair clump repeatedly and it just stayed there. Thankfully Best Buy allowed my husband to exchange the vacuum for the larger, and WAY better DC41.

I love, love, love this machine! It gets all the pet hair from everywhere in my house and it even cleans out dog's HUGE dog bed very easy, so light! Can't say it enough! I love it!!!!!!!!

Attachcments are difficult to attach and use and the cord is much shorter than on my previous Dyson, We have to keep replugging the vaccum into various rooms and sockets. Not happy at all with the vaccum.

What's great about it: Suction and ability to drop most things into a bag cleanly
What's not so great: Cord is too short, really annoying it's like 15 ft or something...
The suction was better than I expected. I felt my Kenmore had a lot of suction already. Just had to change the bags more often.
It found quite a bit of stuff after going over my carpet with my kenmore.
I sometimes think is it pulling apart my carpet fibers though it sucks so hard and seems to get stuff even after I vacuumed with it well.
Also, there is a part of the canister where dust and debris can get caught that is hard to keep clean and can clog it. I didn't like that part as there should be a tool to reach up there or be able to take it apart if the cyclone part where the holes are. Those holes fill up with debris and seem to not unclog unless scraped. I thought the vacuum was over engineered. It's a vacuum, it doesn't need to be rocket science. Overall I am happy but thought i was getting the bigger animal vacuum only to see it's the mini version. That's my fault though. I got it on Black Friday for 375, so I felt it was within reason. Worth the money??? Um up for debate, would rather have gotten the full animal vacuum for that price, then it would be worth it!

Very impressed with the DC24. Amazingly smaller than I expected, and does the job as adverstised. Got it at half price, so definitely worth it. The wife wanted one for a while, so she is happy.

Best vac every owned. Easy to use, works outstanding. No more cheap vac's for us, spend the money and get a good product. We have two dogs and this does a great job with dog hair.

Purchased this vac on sale for a very reasonable price or I'd be taking it back. It can't hold a candle to my old Kirby as far as power or deep-cleaning ability. It will be fine for quick clean-ups & will be great to carry in our rv since it is small & light-weight. The cord is too short as is the hose when using the attachments. The "animal" attachment works fairly well for getting cat hair off the furniture. The Dyson seems flimsy.

This thing felt extremely flimsy for a $500 vacuum. Vacuums get manhandled and when I would move the unit around, the attachments would fall off and the thing felt like it was falling apart.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Size.
What's not so great: Cut too many corners I guess to reach the size.
I simply wish I had understood that this is a toy version of a vacuum cleaner. I thought that despite it's size it would suck as well as a fuller sized one hundred dollar vacuum but it does not. It works ok on the floor sometimes, but not so much the attachments at all. It is just incredibly underpowered. Had they spent another twenty dollars producing it, it may have been an OK product. I feel an impetus to warn other Best Buy shoppers of the perils of this cruel joke of a product. If you are very frail but are not intimidated by gadgetry (a rare combination I find) you will find this product to be ergonomic and pleasant to navigate. If you're after a very clean floor and furniture, please look elsewhere. I can't comment on other Dyson products but this introduction has me petrified of their name. Their ability to place a marketing spin on this product makes me wonder if that's the entirety of what they do. The canister is very easy to empty and I don't mind the size, I wish it were picking more up and it was a bigger issue.

It is not loud like normal vacuumes and it does an amazing job on dog fur. Very easy to empty too.

What's great about it: beats even those $1000+ vacuums .
I have had my Kirby for almost a year and a half. After years of owning a very expensive vacuum sold by those door-to-door salesmen I couldn't stand it anymore and had to get a new vacuum. This vacuum is lightweight and works great. I have a long haired dog and 2 med-long hair cats as well as my daughter and I both having long hair, so hair has defiantly been an issue in my house. i used to have issues with hair wrapping around the brush of my other vacuum and the belt would cause a burnt hair smell. Eww...it was gross but there is no belt to deal with and you save so much not having to buy bags and filters. I also did a test when i got my dyson, vacuuming first with the "other" vacuum then my dyson and let me tell you...I couldnt believe how much dirt and pet hair was left behind and then picked up by the dyson. I ALWAYS recommend the Dyson to everyone!

I have a short haired cat, and my hair is really long so I shed more hair than my cat! :) This vacuum is fabulous for it!

My wife and I love this machine. We just had just installed new carpet and wanted a new machine.
First thing she loved about it was how light it was and after turning it on how quiet it is.
Works great ad get nice and deep in our new carpet. Definitely sucks up more than our old one that we spent just about te same on.
We use it about twice a week so far no issues.
Love the way it switches between modes and it is all in one.

The only thing we noticed about it is there is no where to store the attachment for it on the machine. The directions tell u where to put it but it doesn't fit. No biggie for us because we don't use it so we just store it in the closet.

When I went to purchase a new vacuum for the house i was looking to spend no more tha $200. I saw this Dyson and the technology of it and after a little convincing from a friends and testing it in the store I caved and purchased it.
I am so glad I did...it cleans my floors with ease and the ball technolgy makes it easy to maneuver and control. I dont have to force the vacuum to move and it is the best purchase for a floor cleaning prodcut I have ever made!
