If nozzle was powered, this would be ideal for 99 per cent of household needs.

What's not so great: Little pricy but worth it especially if it holds up over time.
Bought this vacuum to use primarily on my tile floors and it works perfectly. Other vacuum tend to throw some debris around but not this one. I love it.

We bought this vacuum for our new home because we wanted a reliable, compact, powerful yet quiet vacuum...and this product meets all of our needs! It's stylish, affordable, and comes with all the attachments needed for every space in our home. I use the attachment for wood/tile flooring all the time and it picks up everything--one single pass does the job. The vacuum is easy to clean and will not disappoint. I rave about it to everyone...Highly recommended!!

This little canister vacuum meets all my needs. Lugging the old (Rainbow) vacuum up and down three flights of stairs was a disaster. I've been spoiled by the suction and air purification of the Rainbow but, this small (and light) canister does an equal job to the $1,500 ++ rainbow. Have not seen any issues with the carpet suction, as mentioned in other reviews, but my carpets are short pile. Does a great job on tile and wood surfaces. BTW, after I purchased the vacuum at full price, two weeks later the vacuum was discounted $50. I simply displayed my receipt at the customer service counter and they credited back the difference. Bingo!

I was impressed with the suction of the machine, and bagless is definitely a plus in my view. But the carpet or rug cleaning is not near as good. The so-called "Turbo brush" is only suction-operated, not power operated like a lot of canisters out there. And it stops spinning pretty quickly, so you're relying solely on the suction of the machine to get anything out of the rug or carpet. This is really a blight on an otherwise fine machine. I'm gonna keep it because I have an old Oreck upright that will do the job on the rugs.

I recently spent about an hour in Best Buy testing a few canister vacuums and this one was by far the best.
I actually got to plug this model in and test it on their carpet and the suction power was unbelievable! I assumed the Dyson would take all honors, but I assumed wrong.
I gladly purchased this vacuum and it even went on sale! Hard to beat! You'll love it too!

Love the way it handles. Love the bagless feature. Do not like attachments. Mostly the furniture cleaner, with two in one attachment. When I am using flat furniture attachment it tends to fold in. very annoying. Don't like plastic parts and no place to store attachments. Thanks. But all in all it is nice to use with good power.

If you are looking for a vaccum to clean your non-carpet floor, this is the machine for you. It's lite, quiet, and vaccums everything off the floor. Since I don't have carpet, I can't give you a review on it's performance on carpet.
The first thing I noticed was how quiet this machine was. Even my dogs who run when they hear a vaccum, actually stayed around in the room.
For the money, it's well built and it will last a long time.
Give it a shot. If you don't like it, return it.

What's great about it: Great suction power (for bare floors), easy to maneuver, washable filters, not excessively loud, nice attachments
What's not so great: Carpet attachment is extremely ineffective, overpriced since it can't handle carpeting at all.
We purchased this vacuum yesterday and I tried it out that afternoon. Just for reference we have vinyl plank, tile, slate and very little carpet downstairs, while the 2nd story is almost completely covered in a short, loop style carpet.
The vacuum isn't too heavy, the noise level was very reasonable, it's easy to maneuver and if you turn the handle properly the bare floor attachment will fit under most low furniture. The dusting and upholstery attachment is pretty clever and works well for picking up pet hair. The suction power is plenty poweful enough for barefloors. On smoother/less textured surfaces the Max setting was almost too strong, but on Min it glides along like a dream and never scatters stuff. Max is great on tiles with a bit of height though.
With all that said, I'm only giving it 3 stars overall because it's abysmal on carpet. The carpet attachment isn't powered; and even on Max the suction is barely enough to spin the brushes on a short pile carpet. At best it will pick up larger surface particles but only if you run over them 3 or 4 times. I got it with the intention of mostly using it downstairs and but I don't think it's even going to be able to handle a few area rugs. For $350, I feel like it ought to. If you have much carpet in your house at all, there's no way this could be your only vacuum. I'm thankful that I got it at BestBuy though, because I am going to return it tomorrow.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
