What's great about it: Picture quality, excellent color and easy to use
What's not so great: None at this time
This 27" monitor has meet more than my expectations. It provides a very clear picture and excellent colors, especially when playing videos or gaming. The size took some time to get use, for I has a 23" monitor before. if you are looking for a quality monitor, this monitor should be your choice, for you cannot go wrong in buying this monitor. HP made a real winner with this one.

What's great about it: Size and design - great large screen
What's not so great: no height adjustment, no speakers
I wanted a monitor for basic stuff, video conferencing, and for attaching an iPad and watching content. The image quality is fine, but the monitor doesn't have speakers.....this monitor with speakers would be perfect. Perhaps I should have gone with a TV.

What's great about it: Super thin and light 27 inch screen
What's not so great: Limited picture correction settings and weak blacks
This monitor is unbelievable light and thin, the power supply is also surprisingly small. I was pretty disappointed that it has such a limited picture correction settings menu, and when I say limited I really mean limited. Getting that perfect picture for gaming and movie watching is next to impossible with this monitors picture correction settings. It has a very limited viewing angle and a annoying red tint that cant be reduced. It looks great when playing games at 1920x1080, however this monitor has very weak blacks.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I only got to use the monitor for about four days before we had a major structure fire at our residence. I will be buying another one once we get settled into a new home. :)
Great monitor. Very bright, colors are great, image is crisp.

Great bang for the buck. This is the monitor for those of us on a budget. No dead pixels. Running an older Intel motherboard D955XBK with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti graphics card. Great color, great contrast and brightness controls. Also they no longer put the non-removable stickers on this HP 2711x. Purchased 8-2011

Great picture. BIG picture! I can easily put two programs side-by-side full-size. It's easy to compare two files/folders on one screen. Glad I boughtit.

After doing my homework and reading reviews and checking price I finally decided to go with it and purchased this monitor. Wow what a difference from my old one, lightweight crystal clear viewing and extremely easy to setup. Big screns are better!

This is the largest monitor I have had to date and has remarkable image quality. The super bright display is perfect for gaming and picture editing; watching DVDs on this monitor is a delight as well. I was personally happy with size and quality of this HP monitor!

This was an upgrade from an older 19" LCD Viewsonic and the difference is like night and day. Even with a factory video card the picture is beautiful and proves so amazing when working on multiple projects at once. I was a little worried about the 'glass reflection' but it's hardly noticeable at all and not an issue. It's also nice that this monitor comes with a free DVI cord.
The only reason I say the stand is a little cheap is because I feel the stand is a little shaky, though not a complete deal breaker. It's just the superb quality of the technology and monitor doesn't match the stand and the base, which at first glance seems a little shaky. It's not an issue when using if placed on a stable desk.
As a side note I was amazed at how small the packaging has gotten. Kudos to HP.

What's great about it: Great deal for the money.
I' ve had it for a month now and it's still working great for Windows display. I can easily view tow documents side-by-side for editing, play computer games. Like other LED monitors, it boots up quite quickly compared to the TFT's. It's nice and bright. Like a previous reviewer, wish there was a wall mounting option, but that's not the monitor's fault...Have yet to try the HDMI input display.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This monitor is very bright, a little too bright if anything. I leave the brightness at 50 and the contrast at 80, and it seems to be a good balance. The advertised ~5ms response time seems about right.
It is as thin and lightweight as advertised. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to mount it on anything but the included stand, which is very short and has no height adjustment. That's very disappointing because I have two adjustable monitor arms at home.
The manual claims there is a mounting kit available, but it is not on HP's site, nor does anyone from HP support have any idea when it would be available.
I would recommend this to a friend!
