What's great about it: HD "Radio" with an iPod/iPhone dock
What's not so great: No AM radio and that is not mentioned in the ad or on the box.
When I got home and turned it on I was pretty happy with it until I tried to figure out how to switch the radio band to AM. There is no AM radio. This frustrating. I don't know why anyone would leave out the AM band but the real problem is that the box, the online description does not address this. The only place that I could find that mentions this is the technical spec list in the user manual.

What's great about it: Sound and portability
This HD radio is light and portable, but looks great on the shelf as well. The sound quality is excellent and the iPod dock is very convenient. For the price, this was an excellent buy.

I bought this radio specifically to listen to classical music service of my local PBS station. The main station signal came in find, but the HD subchannel reception was very poor.

What's great about it: Availablity of HD stations; size; ipod dock
What's not so great: Unplugging causes memory to erase
Overall, I'm very happy with the radio. The sound is great and the selection of HD radio stations is awesome. My only complaint is something that I was aware of before purchasing: if you unplung the radio, it erases all pre-set stations. Even if you put batteries in, it still does this. But that little annoyance doesn't detract from the overall product. Plus, I got it on sale!

What's great about it: Reception, and Price for an HD radio!
What's not so great: Lower quality sound
Pros: Excellent reception! Even with the antenna retracted into the radio. Where my other radios have a hard time picking up stations, the same stations come in clear and strong on this radio (and it picks up distant stations my other radios can't even detect, not to mention the addition of extra HD stations other radios can't even recognize)! Good/usual features: iPod dock / Aux-in (3.5mm) plug / CD player / headphone (3.5mm) plug / radio seek / station memory preset. Lightweight, fairly small design - 14" across. I was surprised to see a rounded back shape (didn't notice that in the picture.)
Cons: The sound is mediocre - at best! There isn't much "boom" in this little "boom box"! The only way I can describe it is 'kind of muffled'. I don't mean too much base, and it's not a case of poor electrical connections or broken speakers. It just isn't clear or crisp. The only audio control is Volume - nothing else like 'tone' or 'base/treble' etc., so there's no way to tweak it for personal preference or type of sound (talk radio, various music genres, etc). Wish there was a similar model with: additional audio controls (and a cassette player would be a bonus in an HD radio!).
Overall, good product for the price, but realize you're not buying a Bose, or even a $200+ stereo - you're buying a Chinese, compact so-called "boom-box" for less than $100. Unfortunately, HD radios aren't exactly filling the shelves of stores, especially in this price range. It works good as long as you're not planning to impress your friends. Sort of like comparing a 'loaded' moped to a motorcycle.

What's not so great: No remote and the external transformer
Fairly good HD radio but I returned it because it doesn't have a remote and I didn't like the clunky external transformer on the end of the power plug.

What's great about it: Nices sound. Nice features.
What's not so great: Runs down batteries even when not in use. Have to replace batteries every two weeks.
Nice sound, nice features - CD, I-phone dock, FM radio and HD radio. But that is where it ends. After you turn the unit off the batteries still run down whether you use the unit or not. So you have a choice of replacing the batteries every two weeks or take the batteries out every time you stop using it - then you lose the radio pre-sets. Have had this about a month and have already had to replace the batteries twice. When you plug in the AC adapter you also lose the radio presets. Stupid, stupid, sutpid design flaws. It is being returned today.
First time I've bought a Best Buy store brand product; probably the last.

What's great about it: Features and sound
What's not so great: Radio presets not remaining set
This was a great idea combining HD Radio, RDS, and CD in one package, But, as a previous reviewer noted you lose the memory presets when you unplug the unit. I thought putting batteries in it would correct the problem but it still occurs anytime you unplug it. Why would anyone mess up an important feature like it. That is the only reason I returned the unit. I have to have presets available because I had planned to use and move this unit inside and outside the house.

What's great about it: Great sound
What's not so great: might not need cd
I bought this radio a few weeks ago at my nearby BB. It's a solid performer... my iPhone works great and the radio sounds awesome. I have not used the cd player yet (I'm thinking that CD players might not be needed anymore in these products).

What's great about it: Easy to use, great sound for great price!
What's not so great: A little too big, but acceptable.
After researching other boomboxes, I decided on purchasing this unit due to all its positive reviews and numerous features.
II have not been disappointed. This product is very easy to use right out of the box and sounds great.
It also has HD Radio which was a really cool new feature I was unaware of. It actually brings in your FM stations in new digital channels with great sound quality. Awsome!
The product screen could be a little bit bigger to render song title/artist names that HD Radio programs deliver.
Great sound quality.

What's great about it: Many features in one box: iPod, CD, HD Radio
What's not so great: Could be a little more compact.
I bought this unit because I wanted something rich in features (iPod and CD) and with a decent price (under $99).
To my pleasant surprise, when I got home and plugged it in, I discovered it also came with HD Radio. HD WHAT??? I have a two HD TV's at home, but had never heard of HD Radio... What's next? HD ovens??
Regardless, I started playing with HD Radio and as it turns out, it's pretty cool. The sound quality is awesome. Also, the great spatial sound this puppy kicks really helps overcome the small size of the speakers. HD Radio, CD's and iPod songs sound great.
I must live in an area with significant HD Radio coverage because I did not experience the drop outs claimed by other reviewers. I guess I got lucky!! Or perhaps, they got unlucky because I checked www.hdradio.com and there are thousands of stations all over!I
Can't wait for that HD microwave from Insignia!!

What's great about it: Sound
What's not so great: wish there was no antenna
I bought a portable player and then I saw that they started carrying this one as well... so I bought. Features are terrific (plays both my iPhone and my old iPod) as is the sound quality. Getting great reception at the house... can't wait for beach weather!

What's great about it: Great product for an affordable price.
I have been searching for about a year for an HD radio-equipped docking station for my IPod. I found one from Sony but it was out-of-stock, then discontinued. I was delighted to find that Insignia finally came up with one. I ordered it the same day I found it and am not disappointed. It is excellent. Sound quality is fabulous, radio reception is perfect. The only deficiency is that if you unplug it, it erases your preset stations.

What's great about it: ???
What's not so great: HD Radio
...but don't expect it to come from HD Radio. Unless you're within five miles of the tower...and completely stationary...you won't get stable service. It's probably not the fault of this particular unit, but HD Radio itself appears to be a defective system as these issues seem to plague all the receivers.

What's great about it: Everything except HD Radio
What's not so great: HD Radio
Dr. Don (AVS) pointed us with a link to this new boombox. I bought it at the Best Buy Store on Shady Grive Road, Gaithersburg, MD. It is a nice looking radio, but way too expensive for most folks, but I wanted to try HD Radio. I am in the Wash, D.C. area, but could only find a couple of HD Radio stations, even with an external antenna. When I started walking around with the radio, the HD Radio stations kept dropping out to silence The HD channels seem to only be clever reworks of the main analog channels. I've heard that iBiquity Digital charges expensive royalties that are passed onto consumers. I'm going to return this radio and get the plain Insignia CD boombox for $29.99.
