The monitor has worked great since I plugged it in and set it up. No problems to report. It is just a monitor, i.e. no camera or USB ports built in.

What's not so great: have to go through menu to put it in sleep mode
I like everything about this monitor, except how I have to go through the menu to put it to sleep instead of shut it off, and there are no usb slots or anything on it. But I am living with it the way it is. Overall the monitor is worth the price!

What's not so great: No DVI cable included.
Lack of DVI cable takes the value down a notch. Computers still come with VGA inputs? My 5 year old Mac Pro didn't. Monitor works fine other than that.

I play a game (name omitted) where you have spaceships flying all over the place. Secondly I tried it at work first beside the three monitors I use every day at my desk. This monitor is freaking amazing in brightness and detail. It blew away all three of my dell monitors (Two 19" and One 23"# on the same computer with the same wires. It was much brighter. When I took it home all I can say is OMG the level of detail at the monitor's native resolution is astounding. #If you dont run LCD monitors at native resolution you are so cheating yourself but that is another story.#
A previous reviewer complained about sound quality. This is not surprising since this monitor does not have speakers.

I bought this monitor online in a black Friday sale based on the price, the reviews and the reputation of HP. I was hoping to replace a failing monitor at work where I create technical documentation. I value high, crisp resolution and lots of screen space. I like to be able to view multiple documents at once. The 2331 screen is bigger than what I was used to, but the text resolution was awful. It was starting to give me a headache in about 15 minutes. The colors looked washed out and many of the screen adjustment options were grayed out, so I was unable to correct the deficiencies. Disappointed, I returned the monitor.

Couldn't be happier! I purchased an HP computer in August/September 2011... I do photography and so I wanted a decent sized screen. At the time, I wanted a certain resolution and color... and this one happened to be on sale. I just love it, and I loved it so much that on black Friday when they were on sale for $119.99, I ordered a second one! Definitely NOT disappointed, and would have paid full price on it, if it wouldn't have been on sale.
Definitely worth the money!!! Very crisp, clean, bright, sharp, etc.

What's not so great: I've seen better black (on more expensive monitors)
After years of working on LED/LCD monitors, this is probably the best monitor I've ever used for the price. It's quality easily compares to monitors over $200, and it runs nicely at 1920x1080 resolution even on a VGA connection. I haven't noticed any problems with it so far. Straight out of the box it adjusts itself. It's vibrant, easy on my eyes (whether the room is bright or dark), and very crisp (which is adjustable, by the way). The black is mostly black, the white is white, and the colors are excellent. If you look really close, you can notice a very slight pixelation at high resolution (but only if you stick your face inches from the screen, and most monitors have this same problem). It has many types of image, power and mode adjustments. It's not perfect, but it's really hard to beat for $150.

Picked this monitor up at Best Buy the other day for $150. Pulled it out plugged it in and was up and running in less then 5 minutes. Picture is great and I have always had a good experience with HP products. Great for work and your boss can't complain about the price. The monitor also looks very sleek and does not take up a bunch of desk space. Heck of a deal.

I purchased this monitor as a second for a dual desktop setup. My current monitor is a 3 year old HP w2408h. I have had no problems with my old monitor. This monitor worked right out of the box on my extra VGA connection... Then I noticed I was having trouble reading lettering, after closer inspection I noticed that there was some type of ghosting behind everything. It was like a duplicate image in white behind and to the left of the actual image. I tried to connect via HDMI but it would not connect, says check cable. Messed with settings on PC and monitor before returning to Best Buy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this LCD monitor on sale and everything was great for just 13 days. Turned the LCD on and all I got was "Check video cable". Took it back to Best Buy and they also checked it oiut and said the LCD failed. This is the first LCD that I ever failed and I have some that are 8 years old. Exchanged/upgraded to a Samsung LED monitor. This was my first HP LCD and it wil be my last.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
