What's great about it: Games, online stuff and the bigger screen rules by far! Love it!
It's the best DS so far out of all of them! Love the bigger screen and the online stuff to, games, social etc.....

What's great about it: itis a lot of fun
What's not so great: a little small, the need a 3ds XL
I had a DSi XL, but after my husband bought his 3ds, I really liked it and had to get one!! I highly recommend it! So many new games are out or coming out for it and the streetpass feature is a lot of fun! Make sure you take it with you when you go out and maybe our Mii characters will meet soemday, lol

What's great about it: I was surprised by how good the graphics are
What's not so great: I wish more people had them so that there was more multiplayer action to be had
The graphics are way better than the DS, it still plays all DS games, it's in 3D, and it comes with some built in games/apps. What's not to LOVE!

Bought this for our oldest daughter. For the price we paid for it, we had assumed that a game came with it like most gaming systems you buy, but it did not. That was really the only disappointment. Other than that, it's pretty neat.

What's great about it: Its Great When You Set Aside All The Negatives Only We Adults Take Note Of.
What's not so great: The MSRP On Both The Units AND ESPECIALLY The Games!!!! Plus, the whole hinge issue... :(
My kid loves it...My only issue is the hinges become loose after average usage, and it starts to crack. Kids shouldn't have to worry about playing their DS's "delicately". A sturdy cover is a must....but for the price, Ninetendo really ought to build their DS's far more sturdier, AND include the damned covers, WITHOUT further increasing the msrp. Isn't it enough that they completely overcharge for their games - $40 per on average???! My daughter has gone thru 3 units over the past couple of years...1 [DS] for a hardware issue, and the other 2 [DSi] for the same hinge/breakage issue, despite the fact that she has never dropped them, and she knows to play them "gently."

What's great about it: ALL, but still learning thru trial and error
Not a computer geek so I purchased what I thought would be a good
xmas gift for my wife. Turns out after talking to my grandkids, The
better choice would be a Kindle Fire. So, I returned the Nintendo DS
the next day and applied what I received as a store credit towards the
Kindle Fire. The wife and the Kindle are inseparable.

the kids love it gives me a headache to watch it in 3d though. I think that the screen should have ben a little bigger then what it is but it does do a lot of stuff and they love the fact that they can download new games and other stuff from the store. They also love that they can watch netflix on it when they get tired of playing games. Battery life could be a little better also but I think that with all their handheld systems :)

Both my kids got these for Christmas and didn't put them down for 3 days and they hadn't yet put a game in it they were just playing with all the stuff that they can do on them. That's really all we could do for Christmas because of finances but they were not disappointed. They said its the best thing that they ever got. They are 9 and 10 girl and boy.

What's great about it: 3D can be turned off
What's not so great: doesn't multi-task
We haven't had it long enough to break it, but my son is thrilled with it. My dad (a techie engineer) was impressed with the 3D photos after playing with the 3DS for just a few minutes; even I was surprised that photos originally taken in 2D retained the 3D component and could be viewed either way. I'm concerned that at some point my son will take out a game cartridge without closing the game first - the manual warns against doing this, but doesn't specify what will happen if that occurs. The price is still high for it, but when on sale, it becomes more reasonable.

What's great about it: Parental control, my daughter is only 5 so it's recommended that children be at least 7 for the 3D function.
What's not so great: A bit fragile for a young child. The cost of the 3Ds is not very cheap so a child must use it responsibly.
The 3DS bundle that Santa left under the Xmas tree for my daughter has brought her hours of good fun. Also,with the camera function and built-in game, mom and dad get some good times and a lots of laughs as well!
