What's great about it: Sounds
What's not so great: Doesn't work with iPhone 4 or 4S
When I first got this item I was VERY satisfied with it. The sound is very nice and for the price it was actually better than some of the higher priced items. I started running into problems when updates came for my iPhone (4) - it doesn't work at all with my husbands 4S iPhone.
It was doing everything that it said it would do, play, charge, etc, etc UNTIL the update came to go to version 5.1 on the phone........ that's when it all went down hill....... now it will still play, when it wants to, BUT it will not charge when placed in the docking unit :-( That sort of defeats the purpose doesn't it?
Sooooo This would have gotten 4 or 5 stars but since it is now only able to be used for a very expensive clock radio I'm dropping it to 2 stars.
If you have an iPhone 3 or 3GS then this unit will work perfect for you but for any of the newer phones, not so much.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Simple set up, no hassle
What's not so great: nothing that I've come across
I received this as a Christmas gift from my hubby. It has great sound and is great to take along outside. It's really nice that you can prop your iphone or ipod on it and it automatically sinks the time. NO CLOCK SETTING!!! It's great. Great Sound at a great price!!!!

What's great about it: Easy to set up, great price considering all you can do with it
What's not so great: I haven't found anything wrong & I've used it for a month so far
What I wanted was an alarm clock radio, that I could listen to my I-pod on. When I found this one, it blew me away. Some models have one for the I-phone only, but not the I-Pod. This radio can accomidate both & also charges your I-Pod & provides you with a remote control as well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Sound quality is EXCELLENT!
The sound is absolutely fantastic. I like the variations on the sleep selections. Easy to operate. As another review stated, read the manual first so that you understand all the functions before you give it any negative reviews.

This unit has some good bass and overall sound quality. Adding an ipod, mp3 player and listening to the radio is easy. The auto tuner programming feature is great too!

What's great about it: Compact, great sound, dock protection flap
What's not so great: The antenna would ideally be integrated in the case.
For starters the dock has a protective flap for when it is not in-use. For cat and other pet owners this will help protect the dock connector when the iPod is not engaged.
On my system I connected my satellite radio receiver to the MP3 link. As a result one can easily listen to FM, satellite, or iPod sound all from the remote.
This is a fabulous deal, and the base setting works great.

What's great about it: Pretty much everything except the two items cited.
What's not so great: set up and automatic volume increase on alarm
This is a very nice device and should be worthy of a 5 rating. It has decent sound, a great iPod dock, remote control, and a sleek look.The two detractors are: 1. setting the clock, calendar, and alarm functions is an aggravating process, and 2. when the alarm (radio or iPod) comes on, the volume increases and gets very loud very quickly. If that function could be turned off or didn't get so loud, it would be a clever idea to wake up a sleepyhead. People in comas don't usually need alarms!

Nice docking station for iPhone

What's great about it: able to charge iPhone and dim the clock
What's not so great: Does not automatically set the time as far as I can see.
I purchased this for the purpose of charging the iphone at night and giving the ability to dim the front light. Also the ability to play music and have dual alarm clocks is great also. Overall the look and feel is pretty nice, it also comes with a remote control so you don't have to get up and touch the clock each time you need to change something.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's not so great: Sometimes difficult to dock
I was very impressed with the sound for the size of the dock. The silver also looks very sharp. The variable brightness of the display is a very nice bonus as well. The only down fall is that it can be slightly hard to plug in your ipod when you are in the dark.

What's not so great: Nothing really
For its size and price this is an excellent choice. Hard to believe you can get this quality of sound out of this small a unit. And it looks really nice too. The audio quality outperforms several units I've heard that were much more expensive. I also like that you can control the brightness of the display and can even turn it off the completely.

What's great about it: Deep rich sound quality, easy to set time with ipod Touch, beautiful finish
What's not so great: Would prefer numbers on clock in color other than white to improve visibility
I purchased two of the Philips alarm clock radios for my daughters for Christmas and I have not hear any complaints. They use them all the time to listen to music from their ipod Touch. I love the fact that the clock on the dock syncs with the time on the ipod Touch so their is no need to set the time on the dock. The best part, however, is the deep rich bass that the dock puts out. For me, it sounds as good or better than the Bose dock. The metallic finish is beautiful.

Bought for $49.99 on Black Friday. Best price in town. Should have brought 2 - one for bedroom upstairs and another downstairs.

What's great about it: Easy to figure out, use
I don't use it personally, but my daughter loves it. I bought it for her as a Christmas present, so she's had it for about a month. She uses it as her primary alarm clock and her stereo. She's 11, almost 12, and didn't have any problem setting up, using it, using the controls/remote, etc.

What's great about it: Sound, Play and Charge iPods while enjoying great tunes!
What's not so great: Remote ergonomics could be improved! LARGER TEXT WOULD HELP US THAT BUY THIS ITEM!!!
I've got this unit playing on a pillar in our Kitchen where it has sat and continues to sit with our iPod resting nicely out of the vehicle and we use it to wake up on weekends with gentle music in the house. It is a great investment! I would like another in our office but I don't spend the time in there to justify it right now... While working on taxes, Ours will live in the office then after taxes perhaps we'll be able to get another for several other rooms. The kids would love the interface! Just setup the iPod and select play on the tiny remote. Some logistics on the remote could be better and the display could show song title... but I love the sound!

What's great about it: Has weekdays and weekend alarms
What's not so great: Can not customize alarm for repeat on a single day, only choices are Mon-Fri or Sat & Sun.
Alarm clock, radio, and iPod/iPhone integration. Remote will control iPod/iPod with limitation when plug-in. Very loud and the bass is good considering the size. Got it on sale for $69. There's another version that will support the iPad. In my opinion it looks better, but was more expensive at the time.

I haven't used it much so far, but it seems to work great! I just bought the iPod touch 4th generation and this dock is perfect for me. I use it in my dorm room and the dock is much louder than I thought it would be. The sound quality is pretty decent as well. I can even play Pandora from my iPod through the dock. It has a connector to hook up other mp3 players or many cell phones with mp3 players in the back with a headphone input. It has the alarm although I haven't used it yet, but this product is great for most basic purposes!

I returned this item because the little tiny remote was required to set it up. I was concerned it would be lost easily and then there would be no way to reset. Not all the controls are on the radio itself, so you absolutely need the remote.
