This camera has so many great features it takes alot of practice to master it.
Picture quality is excellent , and overall quality rivals my 35mm pro system I lugged around full of lenses, etc!

What's great about it: Good sale price, easy to use, point and shoot, good features, manual settings
What's not so great: no view finder
I absolutely LOVE this camera. It is by far and away the best point and shoot camera I've come across. The zoom is outstanding, the functions are great, you are able to program your own settings manually or use the "easy" or "auto" modes at any time. You are able to adjust the shutter speed, aperture, ISO, etc. There are also a lot of fun features such as "miniature effect", "fish eye", "color swap" and more. Not to mention the 14X optical zoom which I couldn't live without. I really could go on forever about all the features. The picture clarity is amazing, I have had endless wonderful comments and beautiful pictures all around.
The only thing that I dislike is the fact it has no view finder... sometimes when zoomed to the maximum it can be quite tricky to find your subject, especially if said subject is in motion. As well as on a very sunny day it can be hard to see the screen properly, as you will have with most digital cameras.
All in all a wonderful camera! I also purchased this during a sale and got the great price of $199. Well worth every penny! You will not be disappointed!

What's great about it: takes great photos with setting for low light or night time shots, great features for "artistic" shots
Great point & shoot camera for someone who wants more than their camera phone but doesn't have the photography skills to make it worth investing in a DSLR.
This camera has 14X zoom which makes it great for everything and takes great moon-and-stars shots with its nighttime settings. It was recommended to me by a friend, and I would definitely recommend it to others.
Make sure to take a look at all the great features in the manual -- the only downside is that it comes on a CD-ROM.

What's great about it: fits nicely into my hand, easy to focus, what I see is what I get
What's not so great: strap is too big for my wrist, if on my left wrist I cannot reach the buttons,
I like its small size and the ease of focusing, the automatic flash pop up when I remember to move my fingers out of the way. I also like the fact that the on/off switch is not on the top so cannot be accidentally engaged.

What's great about it: Huge zoom, creative filters and effects, nice resolution
What's not so great: Short battery life, dust on sensor after about six months
This is a great starter camera which has expansive features. I bought the camera for my wife; who loved it, but so did I! I'm using a "manual" guy and this camera had those features, too! The Creative Filters also offered neat effects you see in upper end models, like the Canon T2i. I liked the customized timer/delay which an inquiring person could adapt to bracketing (if using CHDK ;) ).
I was disappointed by battery life; however, once you are notified of low battery, it still has about 20-30% left! Pick up a spare just in case!
We experienced dark spots on the images after 4-5 months over moderate use. Warranty by Canon covered the issue. Dust on the sensor (internal) is especially noticeable on a blue sky.

I take lots of pictures of a little one in motion so I need a really good camera. I had a bigger over priced camera which I hated so I sold it and bought this hopping that it was the one.....and it was! I would suggest it to anyone.

Was looking for a compact camera with good picture quality and features. So far this one has worked out great. I don't want to lug around a bulky SLR or DSLR. I've gone through about three nikon's over the past 4 years so I figured I would try something new.

Purchased this camera after researching Nikon 9100 and 8200. While the pictures are good the pop up flash is very annoying. Upgraded memory card to San Disk 16. In sun light screen is ok but the deal breaker is the battery life or lack there of. What was otherwise a good point and shoot I choose to return it, could not live with poor battery life. Why can't Cannon make cameras with better battery life like some other manufactures?

Great picture quality. Good zoom capability. Easy to use features but you can get as technical as you want with adjusting every and any setting yourself. Capabilities that you can grow into or not - your choice. Auto features produce VERY nice pics if you are not inclined to monkey with detailed settings.

I really like the camera and it is very easy to use on the basic settings. It is quite difficult to use some of the functionality because you have to barely touch the function key and then choose the action you want. Touch it too hard and it gives you another set of functionality. Some expected functions are missing or hard to find…..I haven’t found a black and white setting or color select….perhaps they are available but I am not one to read instructions so if they are available, they are not exactly obvious.
All that said it is a great little camera with more functionality than normally available on a camera of this size and price point. The picture and video quality is excellent.

I should have done more research before I ended up with the Canon . In fact I had a Fuji film 2950 that I returned, Nikon 9100 cool pix returned, Panasonic Lumix ZS8 that I returned. I never return items. This was a first time for this. I am very happy with my purchase. Actually the Lumix was a nice camera, but I still liked the Canon better.
The only feature that I am not crazy about is the pop up flash, it does get in the way a little, you just have to get used to it.
The zoom is great. This is an advanced point and shoot camera. It is not a tiny tiny little camera, it is a good size weighs about 7 oz..
Can't go wrong. I don't know why Canon does't make the point and shoot with view finders any more. That would be a nice added feature when taking photos in the sunlight.

What's great about it: Ease of use and clarity of pictures
What's not so great: If I had to choose something, I would say that I chose to use a high end S/D card.
This Point and Shoot type camera is awesome! We bought this camera to capture the developements of our new child and I can't begin to tell you how satisfied we are with this camera. I have yet to use the flash, and even in low light conditions, the picture quality is exceptional. I have had people ask whether or not we are using an EOS type camera! Great, Great, Great. I can only imagine how much better I will become with this camera as I learn more about it. I think the possibilities will amaze me even more.

What's great about it: Easy to use
I use my camera mainly to take school pictures for the Yearbook. Most of my students are African Americans. Many of the pictures I take are in the gym. This camera takes the best pictures without the flash. Other cameras I got greenish pictures of the gym and very dark pictures when people were far away. Other cameras got great pictures of White people but I always needed to edit the ones of African Americans, the pics were so dark you couldn't tell who was who. This camera adjust the light sensibility and without the flash makes the best pics. And, it is so easy to cancel the flash. Now I need to get used to not having regular batteries and needed to have always a charged battery ready.
