I got this monitor to add as a second display to a 23 inch monitor that i already own so that i could work with 3 open word docs, 1 excel and a few PDFs.
For this size monitor, a 1080p resolution will just NOT work for something that has a solid white background ( like a word document)... the grainy pixels are going to hurt your eyes so bad, you will be looking for an optometrist within an hour of usage. adjust brightness or contrast really does not help with the grainy pixels.
For 27 inches screen size, you need atleast 2560*1440 resolutions. ( apple, HP and now NEC have this resolution, but the cost for all of them is around 900 dollars)

Great product out of the box, 2 weeks later defective. Thank god for the 3 year warranty. Replaced with same monitor. 2 stars because of the need to return and get replacement. How long will this one last

What's not so great: Short lifespan...3 weeks.
I purchased this monitor on February 23rd. After 3 weeks of use with the HDMI connection, the screen started blanking out every few seconds. You cannot exchange or refund defective merchandise after 14 days so plan accordingly.

What's great about it: Makes you hate all other LCD monitors.
What's not so great: The stand is an issue. Also, slight color shift when changing elevation.
For the price, this monitor is epic.
To me, the only things that are better are the Apple CD, and maybe one or two of the high-range Dell Ultrasharps.
If you need an Adobe RGB monitor with dead-on color, look elsewhere.
If you can handle the inaccuracy (face it, most of us can!) then this monitor will make you hate all other screens you work on.
Coding on this baby is a dream!

Make sure you have a stable desk, the stand is a joke. I'm glad; it means they sunk all the money into the electronics!
Also, you'll want to turn the brightness WAY down to a sane level, google around for a good preset for the OSD.

Starting blinking out of the blue just past the 30 days.. Glad I bought the black tie, brought back and exchanged for another. If it happens again BB can take this and shove it.
The stand sucks, putting it together makes you push the base so hard to lock it in you think the monitor is going to snap.
This product has... No speakers, poor stand design, does not last long

The screen is great but it wobbles all over the place. The pedestal design is bad! Took it back to BB and traded for a Dell screen. Tested the other Samsung models on display with the guy from BB and they all wobbled! How hard can it be to find mechanical engineers in Korea who can design a pedestal which will hold a computer screen steady without wobbling?

What's great about it: Quality of image; size

- Display is bright, crisp, clear, easy to read text
- Great performance for gaming (driving simulations)

- Negatives are not really with the display as there are issues with LDC/LED flat panel displays in general. Off-axis viewing could be better, but good for how the display is utilized.

What's great about it: Its big bright and eco friendly
What's not so great: The clear plastic stand base is a little large.
This monitor is great. If you load the software you can control the settings on the desk. Selecting stand veiwing mode to me gives the best color reproduction and brightness for my semi bright office area. The ECO motion sensor technology is a bonus. I will buy another one soon for a giant dual display set up. I recommend this monitor for purchase! Its a little pricey but worth the money if you want a big screen.

This is a very good quality monitor. It has some nice eco-friendly features. I don't care for the touch sensitive on/off switch, nor the very flimsy stand. The stand is poorly designed, allowing the monitor to rock back and forth to movement/vibration. It would be nice to have built-in speakers. The cable plug-in on the back of the monitor is also poorly designed - hard to get to. But you will rarely unplug cables. The picture quality is outstanding. Has HDMI input.

Firstly, this was purchased during Black Friday, when it was on sale. The reviews on other sites were somewhat favorable, so we were taking a chance that this would be a good replacement for a dual monitor setup.
We were quite pleased with what we got! Great picture (using HDMI-cord not included), easy setup (we just bought a Mac mini shortly after, no drivers were needed), and energy saving features make this a smart purchase for those on a budget. The only complaint is that the energy saving features are confusing to navigate on the display, but with the right set of Mac apps, there are ways around it.

Monitor was on sale that day at $300 and being a Samsung I assumed it would be a good buy. I was replacing a Samsung BW225 thinking that I would be blown away with this 27" LED. Wrong. Other than having a brighter display it was like watching the same old monitor with the extra inches. It uses a cheap TN panel, a flimsy stand, it does not swivel ( which is very annoying), it does tilt but the stand is so weak, it feels like its going to snap.
The pros for this monitor would be the 27", the light & motion sensors and its looks (as long as you don't touch it).
If you are looking for a high end monitor this is not it. But for the price, I suppose it was a fair purchase.

I bought this for my husband so he could get rid of a couple tube monitors sitting on the desk. It is now his primary with a 23" flat screen monitor as his secondary. When I look at them side by side, the colors on this new one are very brilliant. It was easy to set up and he enjoyed checking out all the settings it had.

What's great about it: Good locking, nice colors and price during Black Friday weekend.
What's not so great: You can't mount this monitor on the standard dual/triple monitor arms, unless you build your own adapter.
This monitor is VERY nice and big. I got me two of these during Black Friday weekend at $100 discount from the normal price. I use them for software development and I can't tell how happy I'am with the screen space I got with 2 of this monitors and my laptop screen. The design is VERY slim and nice looking monitors, also no glare. What's no so great is that you can't use them with the standard extension mounting arms. I had to build my own solution using parts from Home Depot and some drilling to some custom made (by me) bases so I could adapt the monitor to the standard arms.
