Nice playback with good picture quality. Easy setup and WI-fi connected to internet with no problems. Has 2 HDMI outputs which is nice. Slot loads from front center and does not have a dvd tray.

What's great about it: $250 paper weight
What's not so great: $250 paper weight
Call me old fashioned, but when I spend $250 on a blu ray player that claims to stream netflix I expect it to do just that. If I had purchased a blu ray player from walmart for $20 in the discount bin I would expect these kinds of problems. Netflix doesnt work, period. Google "Samsung bd-d6700 will not play netflix" and you will see a bunch of angry posts. This is no isolated incident as Im sure some of you will chime in claiming that its my internet connection. Some people claim that you have to jimmy around with the time zone, unplug the device for 2 min. etc... You know what? When I pay $250 I shouldnt have to do anything!!!! I have spent hours on the phone with netflix and samsung, not to mention days reading forums that bring me to the conclusion that this thing is the biggest piece of **** that I have ever purchased in my entire life. Also, it seems pretty often that when you use the "smart" hub it will say "downloading and installing" and that takes 15 freaking minutes and does nothing. I should just return this but Im really thinking about smashing it into a million pieces and mailing it to the ******** who are in charge of the firmware at samsung.

What's great about it: Digital Display and small
Great for Blu-Ray, 3D, and Smart TV all in one box. The player has been great since we purchased it and hopefully will be great for years to come.

What's great about it: Style, durability and slot loading
What's not so great: nothing yet
It came as part of a package with a D-8000 LED and 4 pair of glasses. The purchase occur 6 months ago and it has been a great surprise, the package was for a 5500 but I ask the magnolia guys if they would let me pay the difference and take the 6700, it was 100 dollars more. It is stylish, fast loading compare to last years 6500 model and the front loading avoid any tray mechanism problems. So to summarize it is a great addition to any Home Theater system. No problems here after over 6 months of use.

What's great about it: I couldn't find anything
What's not so great: Load time; netflix streaming; Hulu Plus
As we speak, the Samsung BD-D6700 is back in its box as I am returning it ASAP. However, I'm not sure if this Samsung Blu Ray player deserves my one star rating. Let me explain. Yes, it's true I kept getting a black screen while watching NETFLIX. And it's true HuluPlus froze up on me. And it took forever between the time you loaded your DVD and the time it appeared on the TV screen. But I also had these problems with my recently returned Panasonic DMP-BDT210. I hated to return the Panasonic because I LOVED it but I bought it for streaming NETFLIX and I wasn't able to do that with my new Panasonic. I returned it to Best Buy, thinking it had to be the player. I bought a more expensive Samsung model and a more expensive router, thinking these would solve my NETFLIX and HuluPlus streaming issues. I was wrong. I called Samsung and told them about the black screen throughout my Netflix movies. I mentioned that this happened with my Panasonic, too. The Samsung rep I spoke to said that if I'm having the same problems with two different players and two different brands, it must be my internet. She told me to call my ISP. I did and I was on the phone for over 2 1/2 hours, following the instructions and guidance from the Verizon rep. Oh, he did mention that I had enough speed @ 5.46 Mbps. After the 2 1/ 2 hours with my ISP, I streamed Iron Man 2 to test it because that movie would blink immediately. I watched the entire movie without one blink! I said, "Wow, my ISP fixed it." I was really happy. But my happiness didn't last long because the very next day, my blinking problem was back. So, I'm off to Best Buy a 2nd time to return my Samsung 6700. I just don't know what to do. I am a 60 year old grandmother who only wants to be able to enjoy a NETFLIX movie without having the frustrating black screen during any movie I stream. It's seems IMPOSSIBLE, no matter what I try. I just don't know what to do. I really can't understand why some people have absolutely no problems right out of the box and others, like myself, do. I'm wondering if it could be the settings on my TV. If anyone has any ideas, I would surely appreciate your comments. I am about ready to pull my hair out.

3D works as advertised. Smart TV function works without a hitch. I like the built-in wireless. I actually didn't know it had it until I hooked it up. Nice and light weight. I also like the no-button function. I had to figure out how to work the front panel. I don't remember that in the owner's manual. 2D to 3D conversion is subtle with regular DVDs. I have not tried it with BluRay DVDs.

This came as part of a package with the Samsung TV. I was doubtful about 3D, but this player along with the high quality Samsung TV real makes a difference. Additionally, the up conversion feature in the player makes Netflix movies and other internet content look that much better. Highly recommend.

I just took home the Samsung BD-D6700 Blu-Ray player on sale for $230. Compared to the Panasonic DMP-BD60 Blu_Ray Player that came with my 60" Sharp LCD two years ago I found the following; deeper color, the resolution and detail of a Blu-Ray movie is amazing and the load time is half the wait or more. I stream Netflix online and with the Samsung unit I haven't missed a beat with Wi-Fi available on the Samsung product, the picture even seems much clearer. If you're picky about the quality of a Blu-Ray movie this unit is definetly worth it.

What's great about it: Works perfectly
What's not so great: haven't found any faults yet
After purchasing and returning TWO BD D6500 Blu ray players because they did not work, I decided to try the unit up in their line. I hooked it up myself ( and I am not a technology smart person) and it worked right out of the box. I am so happy we finally got a solution to our problem just in time to watch all the movies the kids will get for Christmas!

We recently purchased a 64" Samsung 3D Plasma TV. To our surprise it included a free 3D Blu-Ray player, a BD-D5500. Following set up and updating the firmware we watched Cars 2 in Blu-Ray. Had to stop it part way through. When we tried tp play it again, it would not get past the splash screen. Thinking it was the disk we exchanged it. The new one did the same thing. Tried it on a Sony 3D in the bedroom and it played and restarted fine. Exchanged the player. New one did the same thing even after updating the firmware. Exchanged that one for the BD-D6500. Same Problem. Took it back and got a Sony. While waiting for the transaction to be completed, a lady that overheard our problem mentioned she had exactly the same thing happen on her Samsung player. I must say through all this that the Customer Service staff at out Best Buy was great, very understanding and helpful.

What's great about it: Size, speed, picture and sound
What's not so great: none that I know of
We've only had this player for a day, but it is by far a better machine than the BD player it replaced. It has super fast loading, and played some movies that , even though out old one would play them, there were many options on the movies that just wouldn't work! Wi-fi hook up (wireless) was super fast, and easy. The picture and sound quality are much better that the one we had previously, even though it had a stunning picture and sound. Everything so far is a win win in the trade out from the old machine!! Super happy we purchased this one!!

I just bought this Samsung Bluray player this last week and I'm so happy with it. It has all the cool features you would want and more. I have just bought a new samsung 60" TV and wanted a good 3-D Bluray to go with it. This was the one for me. If you have a samsung tv it will communicate to the Bluray player via HDMI connections giving you less clutter due to the fact you don't need to have both your controllers for the Bluray and TV. The TVs remote will control them both. I would recommend getting a good HDMI cable as this only improves on the quality of the picture.

Excellent Blu-Ray player. Out of the box it has a very sleek and slim futuristic design. If you do not like the color white you may want to pass this up but it looks great on my black shelves. Load times are super fast. Lots of great features like YouTube, Netflix, Pandora, and the built-in WiFi was super responsive and fast. Picture is outstanding in both 2D & 3D movies. Sound is phenomenal when hooked into a surround sound system. So far 1 month out and no problems with this player.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Finally upgraded my 3-year old blu-ray player, and WOW what a difference! Blazing fast load and access speeds-no more waiting.
It has the very important 2 HDMI outputs. If you are using an AV receiver that is not HDMI 1.4 compatible (3-D), and yours isn't unless you bought it in the last 6 months, then this is huge. It allows on HDMI connection with 1.4 to a 3-D TV directly, with the second HDMI passing 1.3 HDMI data to an AV receiver for your audio. (A non-HDMI 1.4 receiver will not pass the 3-D video signal on to a new 3-D TV, so on a single HDMI out 3-D blu-ray you would need to use the one HDMI out to go directly to your TV and use analog audio outputs to your receiver- a significant trade-off). This is one of only a couple of blu-rays with 2 HDMI outputs, and it saves you having to upgrade an expensive receiver. This is the smart and cheaper way to make your older (or even one-year-old) receiver work.
Great and intuitive menu system with Apps for stuff like news, weather and games, plus all the video service Apps like Netflix, Vudu, Cinema Now, Hulu, etc. Streaming worked flawlessly, as tested with the free movie offered in full 1080P by VuDu.
Easy Wi-Fi connectivity, so no need for Ethernet, but it has the hard-wired option if you have that ability as well.
Beautiful design! Slot-loading with no noisy drawer. Slick, contemporary cabinet with display that can be programed to dim or be off if desired.
Great, full-featured smart remote that can run multiple devices.
I research carefully before purchasing, this is the most fully featured blu-ray you will find, period, for $300 or less. And you will love the ultra-fast loading and playing of movies. Put an end to the minutes long (in some cases) start times and black screens in your home!
