Was comparing this Sony and 2 other brand names with same features but less $$...GLAD I paid a little more for the SONY. Jaw dropping calarity...NO SHAKINESS...super easy to operate.

What's great about it: Overall Quality/Performance
I am a varsity Softball coach, and I needed a camera that I could use to record my players workouts in the offseason. I'm using it to record my pitchers and their pitching motion. I'm also using ti to record hitters while they are in the cage. It is doing everything I needed it to do. Excellent range of zoom in/out and just as important, the picture quality is excellent. Coaches, if you need a quality video camera for teaching/scouting purposes, this is a great choice. I used the standard Dynex tripod to put it on and the whole system works great.

What's great about it: small size
What's not so great: no manual
Small Lightweight camera was easy to carry around with me everywhere on my recent vacation. It' not much bigger than a "bloggie" camera or a phone. HD is excellent. Some feature's are buried in the menus.

What's great about it: Could use different types of memory sticks. best bang for your buck
What's not so great: picture quality, battery life and no internal memory
This camcorder is great, Good video quality and easy to navigate thru, the touch screen is very responsive and good resolution. I'm amazed the video it takes in low lighted areas like during parties and such, the picture taking is 3mp so u can't expect to much from them but ok non the less, battery life is ok, wish it could last a bit longer but an upgrade is available. The best feature I think is that it can use multiple types of memory sticks.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: It is very easy to use.
I recommend this to everyone. It is easy to use. I am not a tech person and I can use it and I love it. It was a Christmas present to myself and probably one of the best gifts I have ever bought for myself.

Bought this camera for my wife to use with our grandkids on Christmas morning. Very lightweight, easy to use camera with outstanding picture quality. Some reviewers have complained of the sound quality but I have not noticed any issues with the sound either.

The camera and its features are great…easy to use and great video/picture quality. I love the touch screen functionality.
But, for "dumbies" like me, operating guides with specific instructions are essential. It doesn't tell you much of anything. Thank goodness for the internet. With that said, for those MacIntosh users out there, IMovie works well with this camcorder. To get started, plug in the camera to your computer via the USB cable, turn the camera on and follow the prompts. It is fairly easy to import videos (not in 1080-60p, only 1080-60i) and photos. It would be helpful if Sony told us this in the guide instead of "When using a Macintosh, the supplied software is not supported by Macintosh computers…please contact Apple Inc."

Great picture, overall size is small thus a liitle hard to hold steady for big hands, battery that comes with the camera does not last very long

I bought this item for myself a few months ago. I love how easy it is to use but has alot of features to play with for a more experienced user. I just went out and bought another one for my daughter for Christmas. Can't wait till she opens it!

This camera has phenomenal picture quality, but the battery will not last an hour even with the camera video settings on the lowest picture quality. Be prepared at the time of purchase to invest in an additional battery. Someone just starting out in the video world as I was - the instruction manual stinks!!! You're on your own to figure out how to use this camera.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

would give it a 5/5 if it easily synced up to my apple computer but cannot. Hopefully i am just doing something wrong. If someone reads this and can offer help that would be great

Great HD Camcorder

Bought this to replace my miniDV camcorder. This camera has excellent optics. The video is true HD and is excellent on my Samsung 46D7000 series 240hz HD TV. Using the Sony Blue Ray Direct Recorder is a snap. Uses Class 4 SD cards. 2 hrs on a 16g. SD. The battery lasts long enough for day trips to the National Park. Over 2 hours battery life is just fine. Don't need a built-in HD. The SD cards are cheap and 1-2 hours of recording before I burn a Blue Ray or DVD. I'm glad I spent less on the camcorder. I used the other $200 to get Sony's Direct Recorder.
I would recommend this to a friend!
