What's great about it: Great story, intuitive controls
What's not so great: Too many abilities to remember
I am pretty noob-ish when it comes to comic characters and the plethora of games they are in these days, but I picked this title up on sale for super cheap and thought I'd give it a go.
I loved the story and the villains much more than I thought I would and the controls were very intuitive and comfortable. You can unlock special abilities (like combos) as you progress but at the end, I was using almost the same ones as when I started because there are just so darn many! Now I do play a lot of games (about 12 at any given time) so I have a lot of rules, and buttons, and maps etc to learn and remember for each one, so maybe that hinders me on using the full gauntlet of moves in this game, but I still had fun and beat the main storyline. The cool part is, beating it unlocks Game Plus so I can play again...only harder :) There are also LOTS of goodies to find and side missions to complete and I am still working on those so you really get a lot of game in the package.
Now I am inspired to play through the one that came before this one: Batman Arkham Asylum.

What's not so great: 4 Characters
Great game with a lot to offer. Different game modes for hours of fun and challenging gameplay. Amazing graphics and storyline. Love this game. And yeah I have all the achievements.

This is one of the best, if not the best, Batman video game ever made. It was well worth the $30 price tag when it was purchased on sale at Best Buy. However, there are several items of downloadable content (DLC) priced at $10 to $15 each (Nightwing, Robin, Catwoman). As a consumer I resent that I cannot play a complete game when it is purchased. If you buy this game second hand, you will need to purchase the the Catwoman DLC (the code can only be used by the once, presumably by the original owner). If the game and DLC were all purchased on release day, this would cost nearly $100! For this reason, I can only give this otherwise great game 4/5 stars.

What's great about it: Graphics and story are good. Not great.
What's not so great: 3D effects, gameplay.
Graphics are OK. I was expecting much better 3D effects though. Not my kind of game. Bought it based on reviews and I regret it. I love first person shooters (Halo, Gears, Bulletstorm) where all you have to do is walk around, point, shoot and change weapons. This Batman game requires memorizing too many sequences of buttons for different actions. I think if you play daily, non-stop, you'll get used to it. For the casual player like me, it's like re-learning the game every time I want to play. That's very frustrating. Then, there are the puzzles, timed challenges, etc. Not the kind of game I enjoy.

This game is simply AWESOME! It feels like you're playing a movie with. The production value in this game is mind-blowing! It can make a Batman fan out of many people for sure!

What's not so great: complex controls get in the way of enjoying the game
I was SO excited to get this game...and I'm not trying to bash it here, it's a great game. But it's not worth all the hype. Skyrim? That's a game that's worth the fanfare...but Batman: Arkham City was a bit of a let-down. The controls are too much, there are too many toys, tricks and options, sub-menus, views, and on and on...I know it's Batman, and he's got all the best toys and all, but the interface makes the game play feel alien and inorganic. If you're thinking of picking this title up, do it, but don't do it for $60.00....

What's not so great: Very short story.
Storymode is awsome but kind of short, I beat the game not even close to 50% statistics, great story however I found it short, but the game is very addictive, specially when dowloading Catwoman to beat the story mode.

What's great about it: Lots of stuff to do/accomplish
What's not so great: not enough Robin/Catwoman (bought the DLC*)
While, in my humble opinion, there are slightly better games out there, the Batman 'series' (so far) is not one to be missed! This was a great sequel to Arkham Asylum. The puzzles, 'training', out-witting and generally just figuring out what 'needs to be done next' are the kinds of things I look for in a game ... and I wasn't disappointed!!

What's not so great: Some boss fights didn't feel as rewarding as I would have liked, but overall solid gameplay
I really enjoyed this game. I didn't play the prequel(s), but this game had me hooked from the instant I turned it on with a compelling storyline. The mechanics felt well thought out, and worked really well. It felt like something of a mix of Splinter Cell and Ratchet and Clank (both games I enjoyed very much). There was never a dull moment that I can remember. Some of the fights felt a little repetitive at times, but for the most part were entertaining and enjoyable.
