What's great about it: Great Price
What's not so great: Short cord to plup in.
Excellent little speaker for the office. Not nearly the cost of an iHome dock or other type item. Uses a standard headphone jack and puts out plenty of sound.
Manipulate the volume by adjusting the volume on your player, not on the speaker.
Internal batteries enable greater sound without draining your player.

What's great about it: Fantastically powerful for cheap price
This small speaker uses three triple A batteries, which are included. It fits in the palm of your hand. I bought it to use with my netbook, because the netbook is very quiet. I was amazed at how much sound this little speaker can put out. It is actually hard to believe. If I crank it all the way up I can hear it anywhere in my house. It is a LOUD little speaker. It even has pretty decent bass. If it was 30$ I would not review it so highly, but I can't imagine beating this for 10$. The only con is having to use batteries. That's just how it is. If you don't want to use batteries, find something else.

What's great about it: Nice size
What's not so great: It doesn't work
I had a plan and said plan called for my Walkman to have an external speaker. I found the Dynex DX-PS1-C hanging right next to the Sony Walkman display. GREAT! Just what I wanted.
Got home and unpacked it. Put in the batteries, plugged it in to my NEW Walkman and turned both on. The light came on indicating it was functioning. There was NO SOUND. Nothing. Nada. In short, this brand new portable speaker does NOT work. Does not work at all.
Don't waste your time or money on one of these speakers.

Good price, but...

What's great about it: Easy to set up, good price
What's not so great: Cheap quality fell apart and speaker quality deteriorated.
I purchased the speaker and was amazed at the sound given the size and price point. After 2-3 weeks, the on/off knob fell off. Then the following week the Aux cord began to short out and now the speaker sound is completely distorted. I will be returning this to the store. Not a good buy.

What's great about it: LOUD and clear
What's not so great: Terrible Aux Cable Lifespan
I love this speaker, don't get me wrong. Great sound, very small and LOUD! But...I have only owned this speaker for going on about 4 weeks now and the AUX cable has already shorted out, rediculous. But you can't beat the price for $10!

What's great about it: Better than phone's built-in speaker, loud (fills a car or room well), most music will sound good, podcasts are clear
What's not so great: Short audio cable, no volume control
I listen to podcasts at work sometimes and the speakerphone in my HTC Hero distorts the voices too much; lack of bass & almost no mids.
This speaker was a pleasant surprise. I tested its sound quality in my car, my room at home, and a connected it to my Zune when I went for a run one day. It's loud, doesn't warp voices at all, and certainly sounds better than a plethora of cheap little speakers from other retailers. For $8 I gave it a chance on whim while I was at a store. Requires 3 AAA batteries but those are included & has an On/Off switch, thankfully. The audio cable wraps around the top, the speaker also has a wrist strap. Though the audio cable is so short you'll have to hold the MP3 player in your hand leaving the speaker free to pull on the cable.
Music sounds good and bass isnt' distorted too bad, just remember that its a 4-watt speaker so you won't really get much bass at all. Dubstep & rap can't be properly enjoyed with this.
Also has no volume controller; no rocker or scroll for adjusting it, that all must be done from the source device.
