What's great about it: Great Protection your Phone
What's not so great: Hard to Remove, Outer Shell Breaks after Removing It
I got the Otterbox after getting an iPhone 4S. Because of the cost of the phone, I wanted to be absolutely sure it was protected. Otterbox works GREAT in that regard. I have dropped my phone multiple times, and nary a scratch, the phone still looks new. I like how the docking port and the headphone jack are covered to prevent "lint" and junk from getting in there. I like how the edges are raised, so if you drop the phone flat "glass down", you're still protected around the edges. You would pretty much have to put something into the middle of the glass to break it, and no phone case can really protect for that. However, my wife got me this Brookstone iPhone charger clock radio for Christmas, and I have to take the cover off to charge the phone on the dock. Major pain!!!! At first, it took like 2-3 minutes to get everything lined up. After taking the phone case off about 20 times, the tabs which hold the bottom broke off. This made the phone easier to take in/out of the case, but took away some protection. I was OK with that. Then the side panel broke off about 2 months later. Now, the outer shell does not stay on by itself, and I'm out of the warranty, so it appears I'll be getting another case soon. I would say this phone case is great if you're not going to dock your phone, it provides good protection. I would say do not buy it if you dock your phone. Removing it over and over breaks it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Protective but not bulky
Best case I have but is not designed to be user friendly . If you get it don't plan on taking it off because it will take you in excess of 10 minutes to put back on. The window on the back doesn't have a piece of plastic to protect your phone so your phone is exposed . Also the rubber part at the bottom never stays in .looks good and would be a good case if it was designed properly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Top teir protection with reliable warrenty.
What's not so great: A little bulky.
First off this is an excellent case. I have had my kids drop my phone down the stairs more than once without so much as a glitchy pixel or scuffed surface. Although it is a bulky case, it provides unmatched protection for your phone that other cases just cannot provide. What's even better is that I found out first hand that the company stands by its product 100%. My initial case was slightly defective and a tab broke after about 5 months of use. I contacted Otterbox directly via e-mail and they reacted immediately, replacing the case no questions asked and free of charge. Their customer service was a pleasure to work with and I will be using their cases whenever possible going forward due to this great experience.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: size and protection
What's not so great: ability to take in and out.
I dropped my iPhone in a parking lot and destroyed the screen. The local Apple store was gracious enough to replace the phone. So the next day I bought this and was happy that it protects the phone so well but doesn't make the phone 4 times the size.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's not so great: Will break on you within months.
I have owned the iPhone since it's debut in 2007 and I've owned literally dozens upon dozens of cases before I finally came upon OtterBox around the time of the iPhone 3G. I went with the Defender but was too bulky, but then comes The Communter case. It was the PERFECT CHOICE; it covered all the holes, fit very well, and the double soft + hard construction was absolutely flawless even after plenty of accidental drops. I only bought that ONE and ONLY case.
Enter the iPhone 4, I baby this phone like it was my own child. Of course I waited anxiously for the new Commuter, and I liked it a a lot, until it cracked/broke(at the bottom, where the speakers were) 4 months later...without being dropped once... "Ok" I said, "maybe I got a fluke one." So loyal to the brand, I bought another...and today at 4 months later again...it broke!! This time on a different part of the case. What a piece of junk!!
Again, no drops, no accidents. I baby my iPhone 4 I can easily lose my "man points" for it. It's my one single piece of technology that connects my work, college, and business in one. I need a case that isn't bulky (it goes in my pocket) yet gives it great protection. The OtterBox Commuter Case for iPhone 4 WAS, I repeat, WAS the case of choice, now I have to search for another...which isn't going to be easy.

This case is just the right level of protection for my iPhone 4 in a small package. It is a perfect fit that is not too bulky, but still provides lots of protection incase I drop my phone. (which has and will happen again I'm sure!)
