I have this in my garage for use as an overflow refrigerator . I gave it 4 stars because I would have prefered a separete temp control for each the refrigerator and the freezer, instead of 1 temp control for both. Several sources say this model is an energy saver... which was a big reason why I went with it. Overall, I like the fridge because it works well and for the money, I'm not going to complain (much).

A great value for the price. Replaces a 25-year-old GE refrigerator of about the same size. Definitely would buy another GE product.

I've only had this for about a month but I have no complaints. I had to switch the door opening when I got it. This was very easy to do with no problems. I'm using it in my basement as a 2nd fridge for overflow. It has more than enough room inside for that. My old fridge used $30.00 a month in electricity. This one should only use that much in a year.

What's great about it: Energy Savings, Great Product for the Price, American Made, Basic Design.
What's not so great: No Deli Drawer, Very Squeaky Crisp Drawers.
Me and my father's 18 year old Whirlpool Fridge died on us back in July so we needed to get a new Fridge. So we picked out this Fridge for a variety of reasons 1. The Price, 2. Energy Savings, 3. Made in America. Make no mistake about it, there is nothing fancy about this Fridge but it does what it's suppose to do and that is keep food stored in a cool temperature, 5 Months in and no problems.
The cons are for one, there is not a deli drawer that I once thought was in every Fridge ever made and secondly the veggie crisp drawers on the bottom squeak very annoyingly when pulled out or pushed in. The drawers are the only drawback. So if you are looking for a basic, run of the mill, get the job done, innexpensive Fridge, you can't go wrong with this GE Fridge. Plus you would be getting a good energy efficient product, and one that is made by an American company.
This product has... energy efficiency, basic design

What's great about it: Easy to set up since less functions to work with.
What's not so great: Minimal functionality.
For the price I paid to have a secondary refrigerator in the garage, this was well worth the price. It is a bit louder so it may be an issue if this was in my home, but it works well for the garage. The components are a bit lower quality, but I knew this beforehand and was ok with it. Very simple design and functionality, but great pricing.
This product has... No hard to reach spots, Lots of door storage, Multiple temperature zones

What's great about it: It fits into my built-in space.
What's not so great: There is nothing fancy about this model.
This fridge is smaller than it's counterpart from the past. I bought it because it was the only model that would fit into the built-in spot in my kitchen. I expected the newer model to be the same capacity as my old GE. It's not. The shelving has a big hole that seems like wasted space in front. The door capacity is better, and perhaps that the reason for the hole. Overall, the fridge is still smaller. AND it's much noisier. While, the fridge will get the job done, there is no way this one will last as long as the old one did. (Still working, door hinge was worn and no parts for replacement) It keeps food cold, though.
This product has... Lots of door storage

What's great about it: energy star and good price
It is good for what it is: a small, reasonably priced energy efficient fridge. If you are limited to a 30 inch space, it's a great choice. Enough room to put things away in a reasonable fashion. Even needing to use ice cube trays - ick, the freezer still seems functional and able to be organized in it. Room for gallon jugs on the door of the fridge is really nice for something like this. It is very basic, but serves the purpose and cheaper than a remodel to be able to accomodate all the features I'd like
This product has... A freezer designed to fit full-size pizza boxes, Lots of door storage, practical for your small space

What's great about it: Price, Simplicity and Energy Efficient
What's not so great: Plain Design and Analog Thermostat (not digital)
What's good about it?
1. I bought it at a great price.
2. It's simple, but very energy efficient.
3. While the 16.5 cu sounds small, after moving food from the old 18.2 cu, the 16.5 cu area looks as large. Plus, the shelving in the 16.5 cu is designed better (easier to reach into the back of 16.5 cu).
What's not so good about it?
1. The analog temperature dial has is not a graduated dial, it's either OFF, AVERAGE or COLDEST. The dial basically clicks into place at OFF, AVERAGE or COLDEST. I've only had the GE for about 6 hours. So, I'll try later to see if it will work inbetween those settings.
2. The GE is nice looking, but it's "plain". GE could have done a better job of making it more attractive.
Overall, I'd rate it from good to excellent. BTW, I've had a number of
GE refrigerators in the past and I've always been satisfied with them. I've never had to have any of them serviced.
This product has... A quiet design, No hard to reach spots, A freezer designed to fit full-size pizza boxes, Lots of door storage

What's great about it: Pretty much everything!
What's not so great: Door storage isn't very secure; guards are too low ... and wish there was a lower shelf/divider in the freezer.
Needed a fridge for a small-ish galley kitchen and these proportions fit the bill ... though the newer models are about 3+" deeper and 5" narrower than the older models!! Great space in fridge and freezer compartments, tight seals, runs quietly, nice design ... it's all good. On top of that, it's an Energy Saver and qualified for a rebate from GE! Very happy with this purchase.
This product has... A quiet design, excellent value for the price

What's great about it: Excellent fit and finish, nice shelf/door layout.
What's not so great: My particular fridge had a noisy compressor.
Got this fridge because it was the right size for my smaller space, had a great size freezer, and was very energy efficient.
When it came, the fit and finish were really terrific. It was a very nicely made machine, and it kept the fridge and freezer temps perfect.
HOWEVER. The one I had had an extremely noisy compressor, and made some odd groaning noises. I called GE service to see if a technician could come out and see if anything could be done about it, and almost immediately got a call from the FACTORY! They wanted to have me return the fridge to see if there was a problem with the parts. WOW. I was extremely impressed with that. Made in the USA by a company that really cares about what it produces!
I did send it back and purchased a replacement (due to circumstances beyond my control, I ended up with another brand, which is not nearly as well made, but is quieter...)
I am sure GE will figure out the problem, and I certainly will buy one of their products again in the future because of their wonderful customer service and wanting to make sure they can build a better product RIGHT HERE IN THE USA.
