What's great about it: Price
What's not so great: This model's remote will not work the dvd player
Fine plasma tv. Easy setup especially with COMCAST HD service. I've had it for coming up on 6 months.
**Except** the RCA remote dvd keys/buttons won't control the dvd player (page 20 users manual NOTE). Strange, since the tv has 4 hdmi inputs so will accept the player's hdmi output.

What's great about it: The picture quality is as good as it gets for the price
What's not so great: The picture quality is not as great as more expensive televisions
Recently my 20 year old 5,000 pound television croaked. I'm not a very serious television watcher, but I decided that it was time that I update my living room decor with a more sleek television. Imagine my surprise when I found this televisions on sale for $299. I love the picture quality, but I don't really love the wide screen, so I changed the view to full screen. The only problem with this view is that part of the screen is clipped on the edges. I might be able to adjust that, but it doesn't bother me enough to take the time to figure it out yet. If this television only lasts for two years, I won't regret this purchase.

I bought one of these tv's a week ago and it worked great until yesterday. The picture turned yellow/blue and the sound disappeared. I took it back to Best Buy and got another one. I took that home, hooked it up and when I turn it on, the red light turns blue and that's it. No picture or sound. I can't even turn it off (make the blue light red) with the remote or the power button on the tv itself.

Bought the first one Monday. The A-V connections on the back worked. The component connections did not along with one HDMI connection. Traded that one in Saturday. The second TV have the same issues. This one is going back early next week to get something other than an RCA plasma.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Picture WAS good
What's not so great: The whole thing since it doesn't even work anymore
I read all the reviews and decided to go with this model based on the feedback and price.
Mounted it on my wall and everything was great...for the first three months.
Then, as one reviewer said, it started clicking when turned on and there was no picuture. Then a week later, the sound went out.
Had geek squad come out to look at it. After I had to take it off the wall and they ordered parts, they say it can't be fixed. WHAT?
So be it, as they will give me a credit for a new TV.
So, if you get a good one that doesn't stop working in a short period of time, seems like a good bargain and TV. If not, like me, you got a hassle on your hands with a unviewable TV that I have to take back now.
Needless to say, I will try a different brand this time...

I bought this TV primarily bcuz of the PRICE..$299.99. Cant beat that. I bought a WESTINGHOUSE 32" LCD about a month ago for my 2 year olds room, which was going to be used to watch his Disney movies and straight out of the box, I turned it on and I could see 2 white dots on the screen. NO NO!! I hadnt gotten around to returning it because ive been shopping around looking for a replacement. I saw this TV at 299.00 and i said WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!! After reading the reviews i was convinced. I ordered it online and picked it up at the store. As soon as i hooked up i was so happy i made this purchase. The picture quality is so much better than the LCD. The colors look much brighter. The sound is great. Compared to my SONY BRAVIA 47" LED LCD this TV is actually better.

We just use this as a video game and dvd tv and so far it has been great. We have had it a little over a month. It was easy to set up the dvd player and wii game system! I would recommend to anyone.

What's great about it: Good picture - when it was working!
What's not so great: Low sound, picture is out after a month
I have had my RCA just over a month now and woke up this morning it just clicks several times when trying to turn it on and no picture! I tried everything but it will not present a picture. I have barely used this TV! I took it back to Best Buy and it had been past 30 days so they told me I had to haul it home and call RCS under the MFGT warranty. I did and it will take 8 days for a service tech to arive with 2 different parts that they think may be the problem! If that doesn't fix it, they will request a replacement TV for me and who knows how long then! I buy only Samsung but after reading the reviews and for the price, I gave it a shot - bad decision! Not to mention the Best Buy Customer Service were incompetent and had no clue what to do with it! If you want to be known for your great service, then either refund or replace a TV within the 1st 90 days at least!

cannot get channel 2 and channel 50 w/the antenna i have, will try another antenna an hope the channels come in, i have had 2 other 42 in. tvs and all channels came in so dont understand why this RCA TV doesnt.

What's great about it: The picture is pretty good. Good sound, user friendly.
What's not so great: I wish it was bigger!LOL Nothing to cry about really.
This is my first flat screen model purchase. I waited long enough for the prices to fall and $379 for a 42" Plasma is a great deal. I just donated my old RCA CRT to the goodwill after getting this. RCA did a great job of manufacturing this plasma. It was easy to hook up and has a very user friendly menu. Best bang for the buck!

What's great about it: feature rich for a low price
Purchased to replace a bedroom TV, which is also used for XBOX 360. Pleasantly surprised to find it also had a digital tuner, which is unusual for most TVs nowadays. Lots of inputs, including PC, which meant XBOX, and component video devices could all connect. Great features, great video at a great price.

I got this tv at an amazing $375, after hooking it up I was instantly in awe as this was my first hdtv purchase but the good gets better, I purchased an upconverting dvd player and wow! the tv actually shows it is displaying 1080p 60hz!! I only expected resolutions up to the advertised 720p. This was a fatastic deal!
