What's great about it: Picture quality, picture size
Ended up with this model after a long adventure. Started with a Samsung LED package deal from a warehouse store. Quickly learned about the off angle viewing limitation of LED. This was a show stopper in our house with 6 people - only 2 or 3 have a direct on view of the tv at any given time, everyone else had to deal with the artifacts. Tried two units of the 8000 series Samsung plasma whose picture absolutely wow'd me in the store )and in my home for that matter#. In both cases, the "buzz" from the screen was unbearable. I reviewed that model separately. Decided on the 60" GT30 and found I could adjust settings to get the picture to pop about as well as the Samsung 8000 did out of the box. And no buzz from the front of the GT30. After about 3 weeks, BB cut the price of the 65" to within $200 of what I paid for the 60". I decided the "perfect match" guaranty was part of the reason for buying from BB instead of the lowest online vendor. So BB came and swapped the 60 for the 65. That was mid-February. This week, they lopped another $200 of the price so a quick call to my local store and I had that adjustment too. Very happy with the tv and with BB. Note - the BB Black Tie warranty actually covers accidental burn in on plasmas - with kids who play video games and might "forget" sometime, not to mention the peace of mind of having the set serviced any time there's a problem, I decided it was a worthwhile insurance policy to take out. Only downside I've noticed is the screen is so big it emphasizes flaws in any non-HD content. Also, due to an apparent shortage of Panasonic 3D glasses, I haven't been able to see how its 3D handling compares to the Samsung #which was fantistic#.

The TV is wall mounted and was connected to my audio system with in-wall speakers, etc. so I'm really only using the screen, which displays a fantastic picture. Some reflections during daytime viewing but that was to be expected.
Again, speakers are turned off, and other utilities (Netflix, YouTube, etc) are accessed through a "Smart" Blu-Ray player.
I haven't tried the 3D feature yet.

This is a great TV. It was an upgrade from a 42" Panasonic plasma that is still being used but wanted the bigger viewing area. The picture is excellent and it was easy to set up. The speakers could be better but that is the case for most TVs and there are also great surround sound options available.

I agonized between this and the 70" Quattron for two months. On one of my trips to BB, there was one of these mounted right below a 70" Quattron. That with a $400 price drop sealed the deal. The picture on the Panasonic was so much clearer and no motion blur. I really liked the brightness of the LED sets but the blurring during fast motion (basketball or footbal) was really distracting.
I had the set shipped to the local store and it was due to come in Super Bowl Sunday. But, it came in a day early! My son and I had the set up and running in no time. Be warned, it is HEAVY. At first I had grand plans of wall mounting but after setting it on a stand and viewing for a couple of weeks I have abandoned that idea. Any higher and I fear the viewing angle would be abnormal.
Setup was a breeze. We were able to connect to the internet easily- we did have to connect a USB keyboard to key in our WEP key since one of our charachters was not available on the virtual keyboard. No worries, it was a one time deal. Netflix and Pandora work OUTSTANDING. No pixalation or lag.
There are lots of presets on this set. After experimenting, the family agrees that THX mode is the best of all worlds. Ocassionally, in a really bright room I will put it on Vivid. It looks strange but wow, it will burn your retinas it is so bright. We have the set in a well lit room with a large slider off to the side and several shuttered windows directly in front. I was REALLY worried about glare. However, it has not been a problem at all. With the shutters closed, I can still see everything fine and the glare that remains is not too distracting. The viewing angles are outstanding. The picture is beautiful, bright and clear no matter the angle, my wife likes it because she can easliy see now while standing at the kitchen sink (an old 65" rear proj weaknesses).
The set has some feature to prevent burn in which moves the pixels around for still images. The only bad part is that feature seems to be disabled in THX mode which I have come to love. Having said that, I have noticed zero burn in or ghosting which I have seen many times on my older 42" panny.
Overall, this is a beast. It is huge and the picture is awesome. The styling is much better than the set one grade lower (ST?) I am so glad I pulled the trigger and brought this set home. My family really enjoys the picture and the internet features.

this midrange plasma in the panasonic family has been all it was advertised. With some calibration changes the picture is awesome. Paired with a blue-ray and high def cable box you will be happy with the upgrade in models. the sound is average if not alittle on the poor side but i have it running through a surround system that makes up for it. As with anything you purchase in the Magnolia Store it is a bit more pricey than the normal but i believe its well worth the price.

Couldn't expect a better picture. Sound is pretty poor but that's not unexpected, not much room for speakers. Have Onkyo surround sound system anyhow so not a big deal.

Saw this baby last year in the store and NO other 3D plasma can beat it! Panasonic rules in 3D plasma technology. My family, friends and I all agree that the picture that you see on this TV must be the work of the DEVIL. It's that great! I gave the sound a 3-star because I use a Denon AVR and the sound from the TV itself is non comparable to a home theater system so it is most recommended to invest in a AVR. I love the rich, vibrant colors that this plasma provides. 3D is incredible and stunning. I bought the 3D blu ray copy of Transformers 3: Dark Side of the Moon and the movie was even better in 3D and even more of a treat watching it on this 3D plasma. I've had this TV since 1/5/2012 and I haven't been to the movies since!

Had 15 people over for the super bowl and this gorgeous plasma was the star of the show. Purchased for $2,479 on 3 year no-interest plan, then got $280 price guarantee credit two weeks later when price dropped (60 day guarantee). I bought it at a Best Buy retail location and it was delivered. Wall mounted with a Sanus VLF220 Full Motion mount (up to 130 lbs). Hooked up to a Yamaha RX-V671 and Def. Technologies ProCinema 600 series. Incredible sound, even with music (iPhone). My three star rating for sound is based solely on the TV speakers, not the 600 series. 65 inches equals one H-U-G-E TV, what a completely different viewing and sound experience.

I just got my panny 65" and it was very easy to setup. Without changing any settings the HD picture quality was very good. Once I changed some of the settings as per www.plasmatvbuyingguide.com recommendation the picture even got better, the only different thing I did was to change the setting to cool colors since I don't like warm colors. I am glad I didn't spend money on calibrating my tv. I guess if you got the money why not spend it on calibrating your tv. I am so happy now!! Best Buy provided excellent service!!

This TV is spectacular. There's a reason that it falls under Best Buy's Magnolia line. Anyone wanting a TV this big will definitely want to add a home theater package for Audio and Bluray. I purchased the Panasonic Bluray set and it pairs very nicely with this television. Picture quality of this set puts Samsungs best to shame when it comes to color accuracy. Especially with movies. I watched this TV side by side with all of the other top contenders and this one won hands down. One of the few panels on the maket that is THX certified for picture. With a sale and some price matching, I paid $2200 for this baby and couldn't be happier.

Prior to purchasing this 3D TV I had read and researched all of the 3D TV's on the market. This one was by far the highest rated and most recommended TV out there. I have owned this 3D HDTV for the past eight months now and me and my family are extremely pleased with the outstanding picture quality in both 2D and 3D formats. I highly recommend this Panasonic 3D TV.

Replaced a six year old Sony SRXD with this, after six weeks the improvement in image quality is still impressive. Originally intended to look at Quattron sets, but could not get past the contrast ratios in plasmas, along with 600 Hz sub-field motion. Didn't buy the unit because of 3D, but have enjoyed a few 3D programs.
Tweaked the set using a calibration disk, ultimately did not vary much from the THX settings.
Noticable glare from direct light sources behind the viewer, best used in a location that has control over light sources.
Sound is mediocre at best, obviously a picture quality at this level needs a capable, independent sound system to complete the experience.
Ultimate experience comes from playing Blu Ray content with DTS-HD sound, can't get much better than this, at least until 4K hits the consumer market...

This is my first Panasonic plasma as I own/have owned a Samsung plasma and a DLP set. I was hesitant to change brands but after much research and knowing that I wanted a Plasma for the superior black level, I'm so glad I made the jump.
The picture simply jumps off the screen, 2D images are so realistic you'd think the actors were in your living room. I haven't even had the panel calibrated yet and it is by far the best picture that I've ever seen.
I can't say too much about the sound from the panel as I use an amplifier for my surround, but I'm sure they are more than adequate.
The built-in Internet apps are a great feature, combine that with the ARC (audio return channel) on the HDMI1 input, you have a feature rich tv with a gorgeous picture.
If you can swing it, don't pass this unit up.

After hours of research it came down to buying this TV, and Im glad I did. The picture quality is crisp, clear, with deep blacks. Watching sports is a whole new experience. This TV has features that prevent "burn-in", so thats not a big issue. If your on the fence like I was, just buy it.

I am not regretting anything about this TV purchase! The plasma looks SO much better than any LED out there. LEDs always look like everything's on a green screen and I've never been able to get past that. This TV has an amazing picture quality with incredible colors and deep blacks. The new 3D glasses are SO light...pretty much just like the ones in a movie theater! I would recommend this TV to anyone.
