When I first bought this, I was looking for a remote control replacement kind of like a universal control remote but something easier. This wont replace your remote control for your tv, or cable box. It will however add to it, I think we have all been there where we have to change the channel or turn on the tv and we can not find the remote well i always have my iphone within arms length so I can now do just that. There are also the days when I can not find anything to watch the more I use Peel the more tv shows I can find. I like how I can change the channel, adjust the volume, and read what the show is about or see what the particular show episode is about. It is a great device if it was able to have a rechargeable battery and not have to use regular batteries. Anyways great device four stars if it were not for the battery issue.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: I can send commands from anywhere in the house
What's not so great: It often does not get the channel correct
I like the way it works and set up was not difficult, but it often has trouble send the correct channel and has completely dropped out before and I had to reset it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The system was very easy to set up, with clear instructions. It connected to all my devices: tv, DVD, stereo, DirecTv. Only one problem. No controls for the stereo. If the stereo was included in the "room" the volume on the tv would not resond, nor would the volume on the stereo. Design flaw!?!? Ya THINK????
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Just got this for Christmas and it is SWEET!!! Set it up to work in the living room and bedroom. Just have to move it from room to room but will probably get a second one since that is a bit of a pain if you forget to move it. Set it up on iPad and two iPhones. We usually have the iPad in the living room so it's perfect for the whole family to use and our iPhones are set up with each of our own personal tastes and recommendations. We have a Harmony remote but it's too complicated and unnecessary for us. The Peel does everything we need AND it finds the stuff we want to watch without having to fumble through the long channel guide. Haven't tried this social feature yet but gonna play with that now.
Best Christmas gift of the year! Everyone loves it!

What's great about it: The app makes it better than every other remote out there
What's not so great: I paid $100 now it's on sale for $79 for Christmas which is probably the best price for it.
I got Peel this summer and really liked the ability to use both my iPhone and my old iPod Touch as a remote for all of the components in my media room. It even works with my Roku box which was unexpected!
The setup was easy. It literally walks you through each step by asking you questions before moving on. I had the harmony remote before and it took forever to setup and had to use my computer, and go through a bunch of codes for each device. The Peel just asks what brand the device is and has the codes already in the system.
Since I originally got it there have been several updates to the app usually fixing small bugs and making it faster. The latest update added this new social feature that lets you have your own little social network within the app and share ratings and post and read recommendations from your friends and the whole Peel community. It's pretty cool. I found a few new shows that I had been thinking of checking out but after seeing my friends reviews I set a reminder in the app to catch them!
Check out the app first, then you'll be hooked and want the remote!
TIP: It's shaped like a slanted pear you will want to slant it TOWARDS your TV but you need to slant it AWAY from your TV so the IR transmittor can send the signals to your devices.

What's not so great: Not a universal remote
Don't expect a Logitech Harmony like experience. It could never replace all the remotes in a home theater. But it is cool to find and tune to some of your favorite shows. Somewhat like Tivo in that it can learn what you like and make recommendations.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Each family member can user their own Iphone as a remote
What's not so great: Setup of the WiFi cable took longer than I hoped but now it works great
My daughter came home from the mall talking about this new app that she said I had to check out that gives you TV show recommendations. My wife and I checked it out since it was free. After telling it some of our specific tastes it started narrowing down the shows and gave us shows that we didn't know about or had heard of and forgot to watch. It was perfect for the new fall shows. I ended up buying the remote or "Fruit" that they call it a few days ago and found out that we can all use our own Iphones as remote controls and each of us have different show recommendations! It even worked with our DVR and Bluray player! This is a great find! I think these guys are gonna change the way people watch TV.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I wanted to replace my remote controls with a universal remote control and use my iOS device. Sadly, this just does not get the job done. It seems they hardly focused on getting it to work like a good remote and just focused on social media. Nothing wrong Social media, but not going to spend $100 on it where it's free everywhere else.
Save money and your time....
