What's great about it: Durable, large surface
What's not so great: Hard to find outside of BestBuy.com
I am very happy with the Rocketfish Gaming Mouse Pad - paired up with a wrist cushion and I have a wonderfully comfortable and accurate configuration with which to play or surf.

What's great about it: Nothing, well...I do have a large $20 coaster now.
What's not so great: The material its mad with.
The material on the pad itself, once it develops any type of wear, even the smallest amount, or a tiny scratch at all, this pad is rendered useless. Also if it is not completely spotless or dry it is useless. Plus the pads on the corners come off very easily . I used a Razer Naga on it for a week and then it became so jumpy and unstable on this pad I am literally using a piece of plywood right now and have a better experience.
Do not waist good money on this un thought out product. This is also their second version of this type of pad, all they did was change the shape....C'mon Rocket fish...your better than this, aren't you?

A metal mouse pad that blocks wireless signals?

What's great about it: Great surface, rugged and can be used on uneven surfaces.
What's not so great: It's made of metal and blocks any wireless signal through it.
This seriously has to be one of the worst ideas I've come across in a long time. I bought it, thinking it wouldn't block that much signal for my wireless mouse....but it causes my mouse to jump ever few inches on my screen. I can struggle around web browsing, but there is no way that this mouse pad should ever be used for a wireless mouse, let alone a wireless gaming mouse. My computer is only 4 feet away...and the only thing it's going through is the mouse pad and 1" particle board.
As an electrical engineer myself, I would love to speak with whoever designed this product and see why they thought it would be a good idea. Most 'desktop' computers aren't above mouse level and therefore the signal will have to travel through this metal mouse pad.
The surface of the mouse pad is great, I'm sure that if I could actually use it normally it would be an amazing mouse pad. The guy at best buy said that he had a few others had one and loved it, so I'm guessing other than for wireless mice, it's probably one of the best mouse pads out there. What really makes it shine is that it can be used on uneven surfaces, like a couch, bed or lap.

What's great about it: Nice design, but I think Rocketfish should try to release it in a white color, I think that may help a lot of people
What's not so great: Some mice have problems detecting the dark surface, but try to clean off you lens!!!
Hi guys, I found a fix that worked for me when I use my Razer Mamba mouse with this mouse pad. When I first tried it, I was getting the same optical detection problems as others have been having with Razer mice. What I did is I took a Q-tip and cleaned off the optic lens on the underside of the mouse. Just stick in in and twist to clean the optic. After I did that the mouse worked PERFECT with this mouse pad...hope this helps to those of you with a Razer mouse, especially the Mamba!! The pad seems to be working well so far with no problems!

What's great about it: cool metal feel, percision control, easy to clean
What's not so great: may slide more than regular mousepads unless you keep it on a rubber no-slide grip like you put under rugs
Not sure why some reviews here blame the metal mousepad for their mouse problems. But hey, sometimes I blame the sidewalk because I can't get phone service. I have both the older model and this new model mousepad, both are very similar.
This two sided mousepad gives either a speed control or precision control with your mouse. No cloth = feels cool and smooth on your hands. Easy to clean, does not stain from normal use like every cloth mousepad.
This mousepad may be more rough on your mouse feet but after years of use my gaming mouse is still going strong with the original feet. The rubber feet on the side that I have up have come off which is fine because I rarely use the "speed" side anyways. But if I do flip it that's fine too because the mousepad is sitting on a small square of rubber no-slide grip like you put under rugs to keep it in place.
I'll never go back to a cloth mousepad.

What's great about it: Very Durable and easy to clean, TWO sides: Speed & Control.
What's not so great: Takes a while to get used to.
I use this mouse-pad for my Razer Death Adder 3500. Its a durable mouse pad with a unique secure feel when you get used to it. $18 is a bit pushing it, but overall if you ignore the price and don't use a wireless mouse you'll probably enjoy it.

What's great about it: Great Price, Two Sides, Great Size
What's not so great: Nothing thus far
I created an account on BestBuy.com just to review this. Not because I really love the product (which I do, and it is excellent for your money), but because of the other 1 star review. The reviewer doesn't know why he's having the problems he is. I'm not trying to be spiteful, but to inform the misinformed who read his/her review and moved on to buy something else, when this is a great product.
The mouse he uses is notorious for having awful wireless range. 1-2 feet is usually the MAX. One of the main problems stated in reviews is that it's wireless range is near to nothing. Aluminum is reason he is having problems.
Anyway, ON TO THE REVIEW:
The mousepad is a little over 13 inches in diameter which is a great size for most user's sensitivities. Not to big, not to large. I also like the fact that it has two sides: One side is for speed and the other side is for control. Switch it up for whatever your needs are.
It does, in fact, work with wireless mice. Right now I'm using a 20 dollar mini wireless mouse and I've had absolutely no problems with it at all. The G500 I have also works great with this pad, and I prefer that on it above the tiny one (I just use the tiny one for portability). I've had no problem registering exactly what I'm doing on either mouse.
If you're looking for a hard mousepad that's great for gaming or just regular use, look no further. It's cheap, it's nice, and it works great with all mice.
YEAH BUDDEH

What's great about it: Seems to allow precision tracking, when it works
What's not so great: Doesn't work with wireless mice. And who uses anything but in 2011?
This thing is made of metal.
As the scientifically-inclined know, metal can interfere with radio frequency transmission.
So if you have a wireless mouse that uses radio frequencies (i.e. most wireless mice), the pad will interfere with the radio communication, severely cutting down the range of your mouse.
I'm talking about cutting down the range to 1ft or less!
I have a Microsoft Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000. 2ft away from its receiver, the mouse works fine on my armchair rest. Put the Rocketfish mouse pad underneath the mouse at this position -- choppy signal! Mouse barely works! Back on my desk, using the Rocketfish pad -- move the transmitter a little further away, signal is gone!
I can't believe someone would design a mouse pad with this sort of design flaw. If you really wanted to create a rigid structure, USE PLASTIC. Or at least indicate on the packaging that this DOESN'T WORK WITH WIRELESS MICE.
Additionally, the sticky 'feet' start peeling & moving quite easily.
Nice concept; exceptionally poor execution.
