What's great about it: Perfect for medium sized hands, looks sweet
What's not so great: Not quite big enough for large hands
I recently picked up a 3DS and found its ergonomics to be absolutely horrible for someone with large hands. My hands would cramp if I attempted to play for more than a few minutes unless I held it in such a fashion that the L/R buttons frequently get inadvertently pressed. Long ago I had a Nintendo Gameboy Advance SP which also killed my hands, but I recall purchasing a gel-grip case for it which 100% alleviated the discomfort by giving me something to hold onto. So I set out to find a gel-grip case for the 3DS and stumbled upon the dreamGEAR Comfort Grip, which looks exactly like what I was after.
Unfortunately, it wasn't exactly what I was after... but I don't fault the product entirely. The gel material is very comfortable and it will undoubtedly absorb a lot of force should your 3DS fall (or be flung as another reviewer suggests). The case is easy to install and stays on fairly well despite not having the best fit at the rear of the bottom half... mine doesn't come off unless I squeeze the protrusions behind the L/R buttons too hard (which is why I choose to rest my fingers on the inside of the protrusions and push up to brace the system rather than rest on the backside of the protrusions and push down). The product is very well thought out with openings for all the sliders, ports, and whatnot, and it looks so darn good on the 3DS (particularly the diffuse glow of the lights through the translucent material).
I have only two complaints:
Minor Complaint: As I'd mentioned, the fit at the rear of the bottom half is not that great. A thin strip of the gel material spans the rear above all of the ports, and it bows out a little bit like a rubber band that does not have enough tension. This doesn't seem to affect the function of the product, but I value form quite a bit and this stands out as an admittedly minor eyesore.
Less Minor Complaint: I don't have the worlds largest hands by any means, but the grip part of this case was not quite as large as I expected it to be from the pictures. I can play for much longer without discomfort than I could previously, but another 1/2"-1" to the width of this product would have been ideal. If my hands were a little smaller, this product would have been perfect. To put it in context for lack of any standard 'hand size' measuring system, I'm 6'1" and can palm a basketball fairly easily. If you can't palm a basketball easily (or at all) then this product may be perfect for you.

What's not so great: does not protect against wild Chuck Norris attacks
This case is truly invincible. I put this case on my black 3DS and............. threw it at my wall and my 3DS worked fine. I wouldnt go throwing your 3DS at a wall but this case can also protect fom an "accidental" ; ) seven foot drop. Not only does this case protect but it also looks fairly cool but feels so good when playing intense games like (I would recommend these games too) Samurai Warriors Chronicles, Super Street Fighter IV, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell. Great case and a must have for gamers
