What's great about it: There is so much storage room and the freezer on the bottom is a great idea!
What's not so great: The finish on the front of doors shows fingerprints - do not like that!
I love this fridge. The individual drawers in fridge and freezer help keep everything organized. The only draw back is that is shows fingerprints!

I have only used it for a couple of days. We bought it for a home we just moved into. So far the only issue we have had is the water is not very cold from the door. We are still learning all of the features. I like the lights in the inside as you can see very clearly what is in it.

What's great about it: Very quite, spacious and well illuminated
What's not so great: Left side door with ice maker can close harshly,especially if the right side door is still open.
As stated in the literature, it takes a couple of days before the ice maker starts keeping up. After, about three days, we have been very pleased with this refrigerator. The large bottom freezer with all the trays has been great, The filtered cold water taste good and we like the smaller ice cubes. The ice and water dispense setup is excellent. The interior is well arranged for your optimal use. This refrigerator is loaded with good attributes. I was hesitant about getting a black box but did not like the stainless look - especially after they get a dent. Hand prints have been unnoticeable compared to stainless. The water filter and air filters will need replacing every few months, but the filtered water eliminates having to use bottled water or a water filtering pitcher. This unit has the linear compressor with better warranty than the competition. We've had it for little over a month now and have no issues. Just hoping it will match the long life of our previous refrigerator.

We had a side by side. Hated it. Love this Fridge with freezer on bottom!! The LED's light in it are bright and a nice blue cast. We have had it for a few months nad no problems..

What's great about it: Size, Features, Lighting
What's not so great: Bright LED lighting first thing in the morning. Door Fronts can scratch easily.
We've had this fridge now for ~3 months and are very pleased with it. The interior offers a lot of space (family of 4) and compared to our previous fridge it's much much easier to see/get whatever is in there. Initially I assumed that the drawer freezer setup would require constant digging for items but that's not the case. Because of the 3 levels it offers, most of what you need is 'right there'. The only time you would need to dig is in the larger/deeper bottom area which lets be honest, you're going to be storing larger and probably lesser used items anyhow.
The door water/ice area is reallly large - no problem getting large glasses in. I sometimes have to open the icemaker inside to break the cubes apart because this time of year we're not getting icecubes very often.
The only thing we're not pleased with is the door fronts are painted - not vinyl/plastic covered like most fridges. So you *must* be careful or it may scratch. Because of this we're not using it to display the kids art anymore. For those that get up before daybreak, put on sunglasses before you open the fridge - the interior lighting is really bright first thing in the morning. Otherwise it's great - no dark spots anywhere.

I had a side by side for 13 yrs, this french door is great so much more room. I love the LG feature that you pull up on the freezer door and it opens easily, didn't see that on other brands and deep area for filling water bottles etc. Three areas in the freezer to use! I love my new LG!

I was so excited to find a fridge that would hold everything. I have had this fridge now for about a month. Best Buy delivery had it issues and with that they gave us a $500.00 credit. However they never gave us our screws for the bottom drawer after installation. Even when we repeatedly asked for them. FYI if you buy this refrigerator they don't tell you that it can take up to 24 hours for the temperature in it to reach a normal fridge temp, so have a back up plan for your food, because we lost a lot of food waiting for our fridge and freezer to cool to a point that would be appropriate for our food. Because this compressor is so slow to cool the interior space of the fridge it causes problems with the ice maker on the door. if you don't use ice often, the ice will slightly melt and freeze together and wont dispense(I don't think the compressor is efficient enough to keep it frozen in the fridge area). In an attempt to keep this from happening we were emptying the ice into the lower freezer bucket or dumping it down the sink. The ice also sticks together in the freezer drawer as well. I think with this new type of compressor, and how big the fridge it is..... once you open it, and the cold escapes...it takes too long to re-chill allowing a periods of melting and warming of your food or freezer items. I wouldn't buy again for this reason. My freezer items are getting ice crystals on them which didn't happen in my old refrigerator. Everything else about this Fridge is great!

The only issue I have with this unit is that the finish does not appear to be very tough. The slightest touch of a rough surface and the paint scratches. Other than that, the unit is wonderfully designed and in my opinion the best on the market in this size range.

Excellent lighting, sufficient door storage for condiments, full widtheasy to use shelves with split shelf on top for milk and juice. Love the bottom freezer with slide out drawers. The ice maker makes an adequate supply of ice and the shape of the little ice cubes is so great. Plus It runs quietly. I have had many refrigerators and this is by far the best design! All the space is usable, visible and it's easy to get to everything! Love it!

Major failure of product twice in four years=lemon

Our LG is a 33' French Door model that cost $2300. It was purchased in June 2008. We have now had it fail twice in four years, ruining all food inside. In both instances, the refrigerator temperature rose to freezing levels and couldn't be controlled. The repair tech had to replace the "mother board." And this happened twice. One would think that LG would be inclined to replace this lemon. Fortunately, we purchased the 5 year warranty extension and this time it paid off. But having a refrigerator that has a major failure twice in four years marks it as undesirable. LG TVs are fine products; they should stick to that. Be warned.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's not so great: the fans fail too often
I have had multiple problems with this fridge...it has two fans and over time each has failed...loud fan noises then melting ice (messed up hard wood floors), bad door seal and paint that too easily comes off..
After talking with the LG repairman it seems there's a lot of special care instructions that you should know to keep the fridge from having problems.
We tried to get the fridge replaced by LG cuz of so many problems so early and they wouldn't do it without the repairman saying it was unrepairable - that's not gonna happen...so if you do decide to get it, I'd get the extended warranty.
Our previous fridge lasted about 19 years with few if any problems...these new fridges are more complicated and more sensitive it seems.
I would not recommend this fridge to anyone and if I had to do it all over again I'd probably go with Samsung as I've had good luck with their products..
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Opening the doors so wide to see everything in it.
My husband even had to agree that this refrigerator was a wise choice. It makes it much handier to get at the food and not have food get lost in the back of the refrigerator. We like the drawers in the pull out freezer section. Easier to see things.

We have only had this fridge at home for about two weeks but I fell in love with it the day I saw it in the store. I knew right away that this was the fridge I wanted to purchase to replace the side by side we owned. It doesn't take up any more noticeable room then our old fridge but I can fit so much more food in it!
The bins on the door for milk are a life saver! Its well lit inside with LED lights. The collapsible shelf works great for storing tall things on the shelf that wont fit on the door. It has 4 pull out bins that are clear and easy to see inside of , which are great. I now have a place for everything and I know exactly where it is, as do the kids which makes things so much easier.
The ice makers works very well and doesn't interfere with food placement, tho it did take about 12 hours before it started to produce ice. I can't comment on the ease of changing the filter as we have an exterior filter for our water line. I will say tho that unlike our old fridge/freezer, the in fridge filter does not have to be used which is a big plus for us.
I love the 3 level pull out freezer door. It keeps things well organized and holds more than I thought it would. I was able to fit just about everything from my old side by side in there. The lift up handle makes opening the door a breeze, even when its full.
I will agree with other reviewers and say that the black does show finger prints and smudges. That however doesn't bother me. It wipes off easily and I don't have to 'clean' it like I would with stainless steel.
Overall, it's everything I have wanted in a fridge. My only complaint would be that because I am short (just over 5') I have a hard time reaching what is on the back of the top shelf. But when you are short, you learn to work around these things. I would buy this fridge again in a heartbeat!

What's great about it: It's a refrigerated warehouse in my kitchen

This fridge is great - so much storage space, blue LED lights make the inside GLOW - I told my wife I feel like I am in a tanning bed when I open it. Makes it wasy to see to the faroff nether-regions way in the back of the fridge. I love being able to find everything at one glance with the doors open. When installed, I had to go out and buy more food as it felt so empty - there is so much space to fill. Love the lower freezer - seems like I find a new drawer every day.
Only negatives are: having to open both doors to get into the fridge (all cold air seems to escape). Doors get heavy, hard to pull open (may be a good thing for my diet plan). Black color really shows prints/smudges. I also CANNOT easily find the app/software to connect to the in-door analysis device (supposedly records info/sends it to LG for repair issues).

Got my fridge a week ago. The first piece had a minor water leakage and they got it switched the same day - I must commend Best Buy for their customer service.
The fridge itself is awesome - it is spacious, well lit and feature-rich. I love the ice maker location and also the ease of changing water filter. The control panel is very user-friendly and easy to use. I would definitely recommend this for purchase.

I had before a French door refrigerator that was only 23 cu.ft. with the ice make taking space on the top shelf. Now I have a 31 cu ft with no shelf space taken by the ice maker. The refrigerator is full of features, easy to "control" and loads of space. I love it!

I received my brand new fridge yesterday and I'm very happy with the product. I upgraded from an 8 year old 21 cu ft. GE that has the typical freezer on top, fridge at the bottom. French door style refrigerators are a must because you see things at eye level. I can actually easily find what I need without having to bend over.
First of all, I would like to thank the two delivery guys that set-up the fridge. They had to climb up a staircase that has a 90 degree bend. The two were equipped to remove the three doors so that it could be maneuvered more easily.
The refrigerator compartment is massive. After loading all of my stuff from the old fridge, I actually had a lot more space to play with (making me head out to the grocery store to buy more food). I love the fact that the ice maker is on the door rather than being on the top shelf which takes up a lot of space. LED lights are nice a bright with even illumination. It has a built in deodorizer that LG calls Fresh Air Filter. It will force fresh air in when needed and it will remove odors as well. The filter itself has carbon in it and it's rated to last six months. My problem however is trying to find the part/accessory number to order more. Unfortunately LG representatives have no idea that an air filter even exists as they kept giving me the water filter cartridge replacement part. Hopefully they'll be able to sort this out.
The filtered water tasted great... no funny odors noticed. It must be primed every time a new cartridge is put it. So a total of 2.5 gallons of water must be cleared first before you can have your first drink.
The freezer compartment is huge. It has a total of three tiers, two of which slide backward and forward. The unit comes with an ice cube tray so that you can store more ice cubes when you need it.
The ice maker takes a good 24 hours before it first starts to produce ice and the first batches also need to be disposed of to clear the system. I like the fact that the ice cubes are smaller than the standard ice cubes from most refrigerators.
On the exterior, the front is a glossy smooth black which does show fingerprints but it's not a concern because if you're like me, it's already covered with magnets, menus, and a white erase board. The hinges are hidden with gives the unit a slick and clean design.
Overall, I'm very please with my purchase and it was about time that I upgraded to a new refrigerator. The ergonomics, the use of space, placement of the ice maker, and the Fresh Air filter are the selling points of this LG product. Oh and before I forget, did I mention it's 31 cu feet? It does fit a lot of food!
