What's great about it: It's a MAC... need I say more?
I've been using MACs since the late 80s, and they just keep getting better and better. This one is fast (I also upgraded my Airport Extreme), and I love having access to iCloud. It ties into my iPad and iPhone, and everything is integrated. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

For long time we had an old and slow computer, now we are so glad with this beautiful new one. Homework, communication, explore. My family is so happy with this new computer.

What's great about it: Stable, Reliable, Easy to use, Less chance of getting a virus, Appearance
What's not so great: Some would say "the price" but you get what you pay for.
This is the first Mac I have owned. I am very impressed with how stable it is. Since it is stable, it is very reliable. I mainly use this computer for Photo/Video editing and surfing the web. If you are a hardcore gamer, you will be happier with a PC. If you play games here-and-there, you can always run Windows along side OS X (which is an added plus). I would recommend a Mac to the average user that just wants things to work.

What's great about it: Easy to set up, stable OS, very fast
What's not so great: Price, but it's worth it if you're a sound engineer.
FIrst off, I just want to say that, if you're a gamer or a business professional, by all means, stick with a Windows-based PC. I am not a fanboy for either platform, but for audio production, I prefer Mac. The custom built PC I wanted to build came out to about the same price before warranties. Yeah, it would be nice to have an SSD/HDD combo with an i7 for the price you pay for a Mac, but to be honest, the hardware in the 21.5" 2.7 ghz i5 iMac is more than enough to get the job done. Boot time for OS X is only about 30 seconds, and the learning curve for the OS X is not that high. In fact, it's very user friendly. The screen resolution is amazing, and all of my audio hardware is more stable than it is on my current PC. Not to mention, I only had to download ONE driver for my keyboard. Even at 4 GB of RAM, it's still efficient at running multiple programs, but I went ahead and bought two more 4GB modules, so now it has 12 GB of RAM .Bottom line: if you're an aspiring or experienced sound engineer, Mac is defeinitely worth the premium price.

As usual, Apple does a great job with this machine. Outstanding quality, great graphics, speed, reliability, operating software. I am in love with the machine. Had a few glitches with the mouse, figured out the batteries were the problem and have been going strong ever since. I love my last iMac (which my son now has) and I love this one even more! It may be more expensive, but you get what you pay for!

What's great about it: color, sound, ease of set up
What's not so great: i am having to constantly reconnect the network diagnostics/wireless connection
constantly disconnects from the internet. Not sure if this is the iMac or the internet service provider. I never had disconnect issues with my old laptop, which was a dell. I've had this iMac 1 week and I have to keep connecting to my wireless network. It doesn't automatically connect. Could be I don't have the setting right.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Hardware quality, fit and finish.
What's not so great: Not sure... maybe the learning curve coming from a PC?
I used PC's for 15 years. (And have worked in IT positions for 12 years.)
I finally broke down and bought my first Mac computer 6 months ago, a Mac Air 13". That got me started on the Apple bug, aside from our iPhones and iPad.
Bought this iMac machine for the wife a few days ago. It was a huge upgrade from a 3 year old laptop, especially the screen quality. The first few weeks are painful, as you try to break all your old habits and learn new things. But once you adjust, the iMac is a better designed experience. Hopefully this iMac will last a good 3 years at least.
*Went in planning on buying the 27" version. Saw them side by side, and as silly as it sounds, the 27" was too big for any normal desk. Also, the pixels didn't seem as tight as the 21.5" version, it just didn't look as clean.
*I was actually a bit let down with the speed of this machine. It's not slow by any means, but I was comparing it to all my other machines with SSD drives, which were plainly much faster to launch anything at all. That being said, think very hard about whether you want to order the SSD upgrade to begin with, as it really makes it a whole different class of machine. Now, I am stuck deciding if I will have this machine upgraded with an SSD at even greater cost.

What's great about it: love the integration of all the apple products - imac, iphone. plus, the safety and security of the imac is impressive.
What's not so great: it's a little pricier than other pc's
I love the new iMac! Since it's not like my previous PC, I've had a little bit of a learning curve. But, it's a fantastic product and learning it is fun!

What's great about it: That there is only one wire to plug, and I don't have a bunch of spagetti under my desk. My only complaint is that

I love the this all-in-one computer. After having one that was as slow as a snail, this is a lot quicker. I just wish you had more types of printers, that are compatible, with the IMAC

This is my first Apple computer. I have always been a Windows advocate. I can honestly say that a Mac is a superior product. The user experience can't be beat and performance is outstanding! I'm already thinking of ditching my laptops for another Mac!

What's great about it: It is part of the Apple product family.
What's not so great: Takes a little time to learn the differences in iMac and PC.
Very stylish and attractive to look at. Screen clarity is very good. I have always had PCs so this iMac is different and exciting. I have had it only two months and still learning my way around the applications. I haven't touched the surface of what it can do. There are many applications included which means you do not have to purchase additional software, for example photo enhancement features, and much more.
I would recommend this to a friend!

After seeing My sister-in-law's Mac and how much she likes it, I was sold on getting an Apple for my next computer. We are so happy with this desktop IMac. We have had it for a little over a month now and it's so much of an improvement over Windows. We are still learning shortcuts every day but on the overall it was not a difficult transition. The picture program is so excellent and the quality of the pictures are great. So far we have no complaints about the computer and are very happy with our purchase.
I would recommend this to a friend!

As a Mac newbie, I'm still learning the ins and outs of the Mac platform. So far however, I am blown away by the functionality. If you are a newbie like me, do yourself a favor and pick up a good book - there are several to choose from at your local B&N -- that will walk you through the iMac features. As the subtitle of the book I bought states: "The book that should have been included in the box with your computer."
The Apple rep at the Best Buy where I primarily shop is awesome. His knowledge of all things Apple is seemingly limitless. Thanks again Nick!

What's not so great: still having to run windows programs like Quicken that don't run native.
I can't believe I waited this long to get an iMac!!! it makes my home computing life so much better.
I easily put parallels onto it for running windows programs and got office for Mac plus iWork.
The system can run windows programs and other programs natively faster than my PC handles itself doing just one operation.
Matching it with my iPhone, iPad and appletv just gives me more synch throughout my house. The bomb.
Highly recommend.

What's great about it: Clarity of the monitor
What's not so great: Reliability - replaced hard drive and processors after three weeks; High price relative to Windows-based PCs
For years I have heard how Macs are better than PCs. I bought an iMac based upon the reputation of Apple computers. After a month of use, I simply do not see how my new iMac is any better than a PC. I have not yet found any applications that really differentiate it. Some features are worse. For instance, I have to buy additional software in order to run Quicken Premier or I have to switch to another program such as iBank that receives mixed reviews online. So far I do not consider the Apple programs such as Pages and Numbers to be as good as their Microsoft equivalents. The reliability of my iMac has not been great either. I had to take it to an Apple service center after only three weeks for a warranty replacement of the hard drive and two processors. I could have bought a really nice desktop PC for less than half the price of this iMac.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Switched from a PC to a MAC due to our old PC breaking down. Though it is quite a price difference, I love the MAC. Once you get accustomed to the MAC, it's so easy to use and very reliable. I feel confident with this purchase and looking to having it for a long time.
