As a devoted PC user, I hesitated before switching to Mac and was so glad I did. This computer is very small and takes up little space. It's incredibly fast and easy to set up. It's a little pricey, but I believe I'm getting more bang for my buck in the long run.

As always, Apple comes through... I only question the absence of a DVD/CDR addition. This hasn't stymied me in installing the necessary software, but it did add steps. All in all a great product!

Purchased in late Feb. Apple would not support because they were showing the 90 day period had expired. They had a purchase date of November 2011. Had great difficulty getting started with the unit because of the above. I was so frustrated that I will not purchase Apple products from Best Buy, or any other store except Apple.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I started to use Apple products for my personal use last year, and I have been absolutely amazed how much better they are compared to a PC. I have now purchased this Mini Mac for my business use, and once again was impressed. A concern many PC users may have, is regarding the Windows programs they already have, and possibly invested thousands of dollars into Windows based software. Here's the trick, buy a program called Parallels, have a legit copy of Windows XP or 7 and install and run it on your Mac as if it were a PC... keep and install all your Windows based programs right on your Mac. Windows on a Mac without the PC issues that drive you sometimes to desperation.

I started with IPad as my introduction to the world of Apple and I haven't looked back. Now the MAC Mini is my 3rd Apple product and I don't know how I worked without it. My entire family is now coming over to Apple from PC and they love it as much as I do.

In the effort to find the perfect HTPC, I've built my own SSF windows PC, but nothing comes close to Mac Mini. Energy efficient, and ease of use. Can't wait for affordable thunderbolt external storage to come out this year.

What's great about it: fast, and supposedly easy to use.
What's not so great: no instructions and can't really use it
I'm new to Apple/Mac. Have been a PC user. I never learned it to it's fullest either. My whole family talked me into changing. Now, I can't get any help from Apple trying to learn how to use it. I'm on satellite internet, which is too slow to watch a tutorial on video, and I can not find ANY help in text. I tried Apple live support once, and they seemed to only be about servicing the product. I need help in USING the darn thing! So many games don't work for Mac, even when they are supposed to. I have so many new things before me that I can't learn how to use, and I'm about to go crazy with discouragement. Hopefully, someone will come along that can help me.

I bought this computer at the recommendation of my son who is a big Apple fan. I do have an I-Phone, IPOD, and IPAD so I had a little exposure to Apple products and the OS. The small footprint was what ultimately sold me, but I have been amazed at how intuitive the computer is when working with the other Apple products and when moving data from my Windows computers. I am definitely still learning how to do things in the Apple world, but the learning experience has been fun and not frustrating.

Purchased newest Mac Mini, late 2011 model. I love this computer. I purchased this due to a recent move for work,and it is a fantastic computer to travel with. I have an iPad so didn't need a full fledged laptop, but for a fraction of the cost, with all the features of a Mac. This is a powerful specced computer, and has a NVIDIA graphics card, which allows for the heavier applications such as gaming. I play Starcraft 2 daily, and quite a few other games on Steam regularly, and it runs on higher settings without a hiccup. The integrated HDMI works great as well, my 55" Samsung is used as my computer screen. All in all, i have been a Mac fan for many years, and I love what they have done with the Mac Mini and it's price point. On the note of it not having a DVD drive, I don't miss it. You are easily able to use another network computer to access the drive, but if having a DVD drive is a must for you, consider that you'd need to purchase an attachment or use another computer for it.

What's great about it: Tiny, silent, efficient, super easy to dual-boot, beautiful.
What's not so great: Nothing.
Replaced a PC tower and a full sized Mac with this one small powerhouse. Recovered all of the space under my desk and cleaned out the dust accumulation and tangle of wiring, freed up a LAN port on my router and got easy access to everything with a compact machine that runs both OS X Lion and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, and it runs Windows 7 faster than the Intel Quad Core it replaces. Used the included Bootcamp utility to set up dual boot. Now I save on electricity and have an uncluttered work area. All positives. No negatives.
If the lack of an optical drive is keeping you from getting a new Mini please don't feel like that is a drawback. I have not missed it at all and if I should get desperate for an optical (CD / DVD) drive I will just share the one on my laptop or the wife's Macbook Pro.
I added RAM for a total of 8 Gb and got the i5 for the better video chip so support dual large monitors (23")

What's not so great: No optical drive, must buy external optical drive or use software to use another computer's optical drive
We decided to finally make the switch from PC to Mac and were looking at all the options. We had just replaced our LED display, and didn't want to have to get rid of it. The Mac mini allowed us to use all of the peripherals we already had with it! Plus, the small size made it less of an eyesore and less of a dust magnet. It's fast, the onboard RAM is upgradable to 8GB, it's easy to upgrade, and I've tried to crash it by accident, and I wasn't able to. It's a great transition computer if you're looking to make the leap from PC to Apple without breaking the bank.

What's not so great: Not all the 3rd party windows peripherals (eg Keyboard) have drivers for Mac.
I use it for both Mac and Windows 7 applications as well as software development for both platforms (running Windows 7 in a Parallels virtual machine). So far everything works great except some of the 3rd party windows peripherals don't have drivers specifically for Mac, though some work with generic drivers (but missing some features).

I was very excited about the concept. Hook it up to your big screen monitor. It was a great machine while it ran. Unfortunately, it died after a little over 1 month.

What's not so great: lack of cd/dvd player, runs slightly warm
I decided to use this Mini over the lower priced one because of the doubled amount of RAM and the use of the AMD/ATI embedded graphics chipset.
This is easily the smallest and most feature rich product that I have used coming from the 'Windows PC' side of the camp. The small form factor is fantastic and literally cuts your needed desktop footprint by more than 1/2. If you take the height into consideration that footprint becomes about a 1/10 of what a traditional mid-tower PC would use.
This computer has been able to handle Handbrake, multiple multi-tabbed browsers open, World of Warcraft, and Hulu all running at one time. The little fan does spin up and the unit gets warm but there has been little to no ill-effect from this.
