Fall of Man is obviously an older game, so the graphics aren't as good, and the gameplay seemed to me more like a PS2 game. But Resistance 2 is a very good game. The story was a little short, but good nonetheless. Many people compare these games to Halo, but I would say they are more like Gears of War. The stories are essentially the same, just with different spins. The graphics are very good for its time, and surprisingly stunning in the cinematic parts. This game has some epic parts, and some intense firefights, but the big "bosses" were too easy. Getting through some of the firefights were more difficult than the last "boss". After playing Fall of Man, I wasn't sure I would get R3, but I am really looking forward to it now. These games give a good background to what will happen in R3, and for some more info check out the PSP Resistance game (set between Fall of Man and R2). The multiplayer was terrible when I played it, but I ended up getting the game used a month or two before the release of R3, just so I could see if it was worth the money to get it, so there really weren't many people playing it online.

What's great about it: Two great PS3 games
What's not so great: Resistance 2 is a little on the short side
If you own a PS3 and are planning to get Resistance 3 but do not have the first two Resistance games, then I strongly recommend getting this set.
Unlike most first person shooters, Resistance has a well developed story and playing these games gives you the chance to experience the epic struggle that is Resistance.
The games are set in an alternate history where the Human race fights a losing war against a race of monsters called the Chimera, some of the scariest enemies this side of Resident Evil. Both games deliver stunning graphics, superb control, awesome gameplay and some very cool weapons.
Resistance: Fall of Man was the best game of PS3's launch lineup and Resistance 2 is a great sequel. This set gives you both games at a great price.
Recommended for any PS3 owner who does not already have these games.

What's great about it: For how old the game is it is as fun as the new games out.
What's not so great: I didn't know about the game when it came out.
Like a few of the other people, I bought this game because I had not played any of the Resistance series and I was impressed. I have not yet made it to the second game in the pack yet but i am well im pressed with the first game of the series and would of payed the $39.99 for it alone. I have no complaints on the graphics like some others have, it could be thier tv because it is a 720p game (wich is all that is really needed for most games) and when my tv was left on 1080p it made it look fuzzy, but easily cured by changing my settings of my ps2 for the game. I highly....HIGHLY recomend pre-ordering Resistance 3 and or picking it up if its released by the time this is read.

What's great about it: fun, co-op, price, campaign length, multiplayer
What's not so great: went from original to generic, graphics
This review will be based on my separate purchases of these games. I had already done a review of Resistance: Fall of Man, but not on Resistance 2 (the "Write a Review" option for a product is no longer available on Best Buy's website once that product has been pulled from the website).
Resistance: Fall of Man ---
*(pretty much copied and pasted from my original review of the game)*
I bought this game because I was curious to see what the Resistance franchise was all about. I found out that it's pretty darn impressive, at least for this first title.
This game is just a whole lot of fun to play. I played through the campaign mode (offline co-op available) with my younger brother, and we enjoyed it. There's replay value because new weapons are unlocked in the next play-through.
I have not played the multiplayer part, because not many people play this game online, anymore.
The controls may seem a little iffy if you're used to Call of Duty, but you can customize each button instead of having to stick with pre-set button layouts, which is great. The game does have several pre-set button layouts, but if none of them seem to work for you, just create your own.
The campaign is pretty long. The developers were very creative with how you progress through the main story, the enemies, and the weapons and grenades - they're a lot of fun to play with.
Overall, this is a great game. It's a lot of fun when you play it with a friend.
Resistance 2 ---
This game is a great sequel, but it takes a step backward rather than a step forward (e.g. offline co-op is no longer available and online co-op does not involve the main campaign - more of a "side campaign").
There have been improvements on the graphics - they are more polished. However, they are a little more "shaded," so to speak, which makes some areas too dark even if the setting of a level is during the daytime.
The weapons are still cool and look better, but you are now limited to one primary and one secondary weapon (no more weapon wheel). This can make the game seem more realistic, but, at the same time, it can take away the creativity involving different ways of defeating the enemies.
There are a few new weapons and some updates on the old ones. Notice how I typed "updates" and not "upgrades" because one of my favorite weapons, the Bullseye, shoots faster but has less ammo in the clip... - SHOOTS FASTER but has LESS AMMO in each clip?! Does that make any sense?!?
This time, the chimera are faster but not necessarily smarter. There are some parts of the game where the chimera will try to bum rush you. Sometimes, it makes for great action gameplay and a good testing of the reflexes. Sometimes, it makes for headache and frustration. =P
The levels are still pretty long and are a lot larger, and you now have the option to sprint...infinitely. There is no more health bar. Player health is now the generic "I see flashing red on my screen. I should hide and wait for my health to replenish automatically." This takes a little bit of the strategic challenge out of the game.
Multiplayer is fun (up to 60 players on a single map) but can be hectic (up to...60 players...on a single...map... - exactly). Surprisingly, there is almost a seamless transition between each match. Give that server a try, and see if you like it. Otherwise, you can always create your own.
Also, two players can play online on the same screen as long as both users have PlayStation Network accounts. This is fun, too...until one person has to change weapons, in which the entire screen has been filled up, making the other player unable to see what they're doing. Do you know what happens when there are 58 other people playing especially when "friendly fire" is enabled? You might as well put down your controller if it takes your teammate a while to choose a weapon.
This game, in my opinion, has gone generic compared to the first title. Don't get me wrong. It's still fun and still worth trying as a continuation of the Resistance series. It's just not my ideal sequel.
Overall ---
I give this bundle 5 stars. Resistance: Fall of Man deserves 5 stars; Resistance 2 deserves 4 stars at the most.

What's great about it: Both games have an average difficulty and fun gameplay
What's not so great: graphics could be better, but it was one of the first PS3 games
Personally, I haven't gotten into the Resistance series, but for $40 you get RE1 & RE2 including multiplayer content+RE3 content?! You'll get your money's worth.
