What's great about it: Picture quality. Sound is average but works in my small living room.
What's not so great: Remote not the best but it works good enough.
Overall a nice TV. At this price was outstanding value. Easy to set up.
We had ours mounted to the wall. The picture quality on the LED is excellent. No real drawbacks. We got the extened service plan just in case. We heard negatives but through the few months is an very nice TV.

What's great about it: Great picture quality
What's not so great: Sound quality
Great picture quality when connection with HDMI. Sound quality is kind of lacking with only 2 6-watt speakers. The only way to make the sound better with this TV is to plug in speakers to the headphone jack. Overall, it's a great HDTV for the price.

What's great about it: Good price
What's not so great: Have not found anything wrong.
I do not usually write reviews or anything like that. But with this product i had ro take the time to help my fellow shoopers outthere. Hook up the tv to my cable box and the picture is awsome. Just make sure the cable box is set up for 1080p. Played a dvd on my sambung blue-ray player and the quality of the picture was real nice, and with a blue-ray disc is just breathtaking. The speakers are real loud and u can adjust them accordingly. Play with all the menu features so u know what the tv can do. I have a 65'' DLP and iit cannot compare to this 55''. This one is much better picture quality. Im thinking of selling my 65'' and replacing it with another Westhinghouse. Real bang for ur buck.

What's great about it: Screen size and picture quality
What's not so great: No built-in Internet services
Love this TV! Purchased this 55-incher to replace a 40-inch Samsung "Touch of Color" LCD (4 years old). I was was completely happy with my 4-year-old Samsung's picture quality, but wanted something bigger and didn't want to spend $2,000 or more for a 55-inch LED (the average price I have seen for 55-inchers from the big-name brands). I bought this TV sight unseen -- Best Buy doesn't carry this model in its stores -- but the reviews here were solid so I took the risk and was pleasantly surprised. This TV is amazing at any price. I have a Samsung Blu-ray player with Internet connectivity (Netflix, Hulu, etc.), so even though this model doesn't have built-in Internet features, I am able to watch streaming content by way of my Blu-ray player. Another little feature that was important to me -- and most of the big-name brands lack for some reason -- this model has a headphone jack that I like to use late-night as not to disturb others.

What's not so great: my direct tv remote has no functioning code to control the tv
i was shopping for 50" to 60" flat panel for my bedroom i already own a 60" mitsubishi dlp in my living room which i love so i was going to try either an led, lcd,or plasma after a month of looking and reading the reviews i chose the westinghouse led 55" & flipped over the crisp clarity of the 1080p led hd experience it's a visual masterpiece so now i have a 60" mitsubishi in my bedroom & my new 55"led in the living room absolutly a wonderful purchase buy this tv however my direct tv remote does not have a code to operate it ive tried every single code i could find nothing

What's great about it: Nice Picture
What's not so great: Poorly built
I'm usually a very fair grader and look on the brighter side of things. This time, however, this TV truly deserves a lower review. I bought this TV on sale, it was a great price and had great reviews. I have never seen or used a Westinghouse TV before so I did a little research. I found that their TVs can give out and do so frequently. I had hoped that, with this being a more new model, they would fix that problem. All 8 reviews at the time said it was great! I took a chance, and bought it. I received the TV and it was set up perfectly. I loved the picture, it was very clear and crisp (with HDMI cables and high definition equipment). Sounded great too! It also looked good in general, slim and sleek. After delivery and set up my roommates and I headed out. When we came home we started playing our xbox and we loved it. It was so bright and big! 30 minutes into using our brand new TV, it died. It never turned on again. I called Westinghouse and the phone representative very rudely told me they are not responsible and that I should take my claim to BestBuy. I called BestBuy and was told to bring in my TV for repair or replacement. This was hard for me because I drive a small car. The warranty says that for TVs larger than 46", in-home service is available. I brought this up and unfortunately BestBuy can't do in-home service on that brand of TV. After hours of research, I decided to just return the product. Almost all of Westinghouse TVs are rated very low and not liked. Many people have had this problem with Westinghouse TVs and I was already experiencing them on day 1. It's a nice TV but cheaply built. If you buy this TV, get the extended warranty, that way, when this happens to you, you're ready.

What's great about it: Picture quality...
What's not so great: Remote and horrible audio functionality.
The picture on this 55" set far surpassed anything I've seen or imagined on a sub $800 TV. Most of the guests that have seen it comment on the superb picture quality. I must admit that I primarily use an uncompressed over-the-airwaves signal from an antenna instead of cable or satellite which is inherently much better quality. But the picture is amazing for the price of the set. That's the good news. The remote is only marginally operator friendly, the delay between pushing a button and the resultant action on the set is disturbing and the field of view of the remote to TV infrared signal is extremely narrow. If you're not pointing at exactly the right spot there is no response. Pain in the rear. By far the most disappointing aspect of the set is the incredibly poor audio, almost unintelligible at times. On top of that there is only one audio output option and that is for a set of headphones. If it weren't for the great picture I would have sent it back. I use the headphone output and run it through an AV receiver. A poor but workable solution.

I bought this product just based on the other reviews here, and wasn't able to see it in action at the store. I was NOT disappointed. Just as everyone else has stated the picture is absolutely Great! Plenty of connections for video equipment. This picture for the Price is a great buy.
The only think I would change is better sound for the TV, but I'm hooking the system up to an amplified center console with distribution to 5 speakers, so It's fine for me.

What's great about it: The picture clarity and the price. I enjoy football and the HD channels look great.
What's not so great: The only negative I can say is the number of connections or inputs, definitely not a deterrent to buy this tv.
I purchased a 55 inch LCD tv and installed it and thought it was a great deal (I purchased on black friday so at the time it was a pretty good deal). After getting it set-up and watching it it looked good but not as good as some LED models I've seen in the store. I saw this tv on sale for $799 and decided to take a chance on buying based on other reviews of it. I am completely happy with the purchase. I wanted an LED tv that wasn't very thick but didn't cost a crazy amount. After setting up this tv and watching it with my Dish Network HD channels I can say everything looks great. It has an amazing picture and for the price you can't beat what it has to offer. I would definintely recommend this to anyone looking for a 55" LED tv but doesn't want or need the extra features such as internet connectivity.
The only down side is that it doesn't have as many available inputs as other tv's but that would not deter me from buying another one of these tv's.
