What's great about it: great for travel
What's not so great: computer crashed after 2 months of ownership (1 month of use)
My husband purchased this for me on black friday weekend and gave it to me as an early Christmas gift for school. Owned it for 2 months, used it for one month - when classes started again it did an automatic windows update. The next time I turned it on I got 7 blue screens of death. I sent it back to Best Buy for a diagnostic, they told me there were some adware viruses, but what was causing the problem was the wireless software was causing my computer to crash. They wanted to charge me $199 for a year of tech support to fix it!!! I told them that was crazy, it should be under warranty, it is only 2 months old! They said it was a software issue that was not covered. I told them the only software I loaded was MicroTrends antivirus software and MS Office 2010, the wireless software came with the computer - it should be covered. They said no it was not and it would cost me $199 to fix it (paid $279 for the netbook). I called Toshiba told them the issues above. They said we could do reload of the operating system over the internet, if that didn't work they it would be fixed at one of their drop-off sites. So, all in all - it WAS COVERED!! BE CAREFUL Best Buy will try to tell you need an extended warranty when you don't!!!
Overall, the netbook is SOOO convienent for travel and school, I will put recommend to a friend, but if this happens again I will change my recs.
This product is... A nice compact size, great for travel

What's great about it: Like the non-chicklet keyboard - travel size - prefer netbook vs tablet
What's not so great: so far - nothing
Unlike the first reviewer, I have owned this model for about 11 months and found it to be a great value. I got it on sale for $250.00
I think most people would recognize that a netbook is not designed to be a business machine. I also think that most people can read the specs and understand what they are and are not buying. Want a DVD, 2-4 gig of RAM, etc.... buy a laptop.
I upgraded the memory to 2 gig when I purchased it. (easy to pop off the cover and snap in the memory). I have been more than satisfied with the machine. I use this to travel with since it is so compact.
This product is... A nice compact size, a perfect mobile computer
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Keyboard, Win 7 starter is more than enough, Plenty of usb ports, wifi connectivity, battery life
What's not so great: Glossy screen, speaker (mono)
Have had this for over 6 months and it has been great. I did the upgrade to 2GB RAM, so yes that cost me another $25 or so. But Windows 7 Starter is more than enough - I don't need to be changing themes and backgrounds and wasting time. Win 7 Starter runs everything well - Skype, iTunes, MS Office 2010, you name it. And the wifi is excellent (catches wifi quickly, stays stable.) I get about 6 - 7 hrs battery time for mixed use - some video, email, documents, etc, browsing. What more do I need. I have a PC at home with full Win 7 and a faster 3-core processor, so sure, if I need to do heavy duty stuff, that's what I use, but otherwise, this netbook is perfect. And the keyboard is Full and has large keys. Add all this to my smartphone and a portable HDD and I am totally mobile. This netbook gets only a 4 out of 5 from me just because the speaker is poor (mono), and screen is too glossy - you have to keep away from sunlit areas. But overall, total value for money. I've checked out larger Toshiba laptops and they are not something I'll recommend (not well built, too plasticky), but this netbook, Yes!
This product is... A touch pad that works great, A nice compact size
About me... insanely bright guy :)
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: small and cute but so what, it is going to end up as a toy for my 5 year old, it is useless
What's not so great: Sucks
Biggest dissapointment, customer service from Toshiba is the worst, computer comes with Windows 7 starter, which basically forces you to upgrade to Windows 7, that will cost you at least $90.00 to upgrade, I bought the upgrade through Toshiba and it did not installed so they forced me to pay $40.00 to help me install it, plus I had to pay for additional memory ($25.00 for a 2mb), also, If you want an external DVD, you need to buy a dvd decoder ($20.00-50.00) in order to be able to play dvd's, after all this que quality of the dvd's is slow and bad quality, skype runs very slowly and poor quality, it is not worth it, biggest regret, I will give it a -1 rating.
Tech support called me next day at 6:00 am to confirm the charge on my credit card, really poor service, I am very dissapointed.
I can't return it because I upgraded the memory, so they won't take it back.
I am always happy with best buys, but I will never buy another product from Toshiba in my life.
About me... Parent with kids
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
