What's great about it: a few tracks
What's not so great: a lot of the tracks
there were a few songs in my opinion that sounds realy good enjoyed the lyrics.

This is a great cd. It's music I can listen to with my daughters to help uplift them. I love it as well as the other albums of hers

What's great about it: strong music & lyrics complimented by a beautiful voice
What's not so great: for some people, this cd may be a little too different from her last one
jill scott is eloquent. her lyrics never fail to inspire. her voice is rich & is always on point. some people don't like the fact that this cd is different than the last one. yes it is, it's supposed to be. some may, but not all artists can thrive through repetition. i think the regurgitative aspect in music today is sad. jill is one of the best singers this last decade has had to offer. her music is a breath of fresh air. her lyrics are real & her music is is original & i appreciate it /her for that.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Lyrics and smooth sound
I love, Love, LOVE Jill Scott and this album! Jill Scott continuously makes music that speaks to my soul! If you love music that has a meaning and lyrics that you can relate to, you HAVE to buy this album!

What's great about it: track with anthony hamilton and one other track
What's not so great: tracks have no soul at all to them very regular no banging hit
i believe this is jills last album with this record label so you put something out because of your contract obligations i am dissappointed in this album i turn it down in my car not up and my system is banging true jill scott fans in new york will still go to see her at jones beach in july but i hope she doesnt try to sing the tracks on this album seriously can i get my money back ????

What's great about it: Everything!!!!! It's Jill Scott....need I say more?
What's not so great: The unfortunate ones who will miss out on this great music because they do not purchase the CD
I have patiently been waiting on Jill Scott to release a new CD! "The Light of the Sun" was well worth the wait!!!! I put it in my CD changer before I left the Best Buy parking lot and it has been playing every since. She is motivational, inspirational, sensual and the list goes on! Finally, some REAL music with some REAL meaning behind it! I have called all of my friends and put it on my FB page letting eveyone know that Jill Scott is back and this CD is a must have for any true music lover! If I could have given her 10 stars, I would have! So Gone, Making You Wait, Until Then(my absolute favorite on the CD), Missing You, and When I Wake Up are my top picks although I can honestly say, you can't go wrong with any song on the track list! Buy it, sit back and enjoy the ride, driving courtesy of Ms. Scott!
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: The CD, cover, lyrics and JILL.... period!!!!
What's not so great: If you don't go purchase this CD and pass the word that JILL is the ISH!!!!
Jilly from Philly is back with a banging CD!!!! What a delicious way to start off the summer!!! I made sure to add this CLASSIC to my Jill Scott collection!!! When I first got my hands on this MASTERPIECE I was elated and knew I was in for a treat just by looking at the front cover!!!! My sistah-friend and I talked about the album release since we knew she was coming back and believe me it was WELL worth the wait!!!! The guest appearances added a sweet flava- ANTHONY HAMILTON!!! I made sure to text everyone I knew to let them know to GO GET IT!!!! JIll looks ILL and the CD reflects HER!!!! LOVE JILL SCOTT and been a fan since day ONE!!!

What's great about it: Each and every song!
What's not so great: NO COMPLAINTS, NONE!
Jill has been a long time favorite of mine and this new CD keeps her in that status. Her lyrics and life experiences are so worldly. She may be one of the best kept secrets on the last decade.
I would recommend this to a friend!
