What's not so great: Store Policy
Product performed okay but was unhappy with customer service. Unfortunately it was incompatible with the security programs I need for work. When I returned it, I could not get my money back because I was 2 days over the 15 day return policy even though I had brought the computer back to the store a few days after the initial purchase to have the geek squad help me with the security issues. I called the store a few days later (still within the 15 day return policy) to let them know the security issues could not be resolved and that I would like to return the computer. However, a hectic work schedule prevented me from being able to make it back to Best Buy during business hours and I inevitable was later than the 15 policy. I felt that an exception should have been granted b/c I had been in regular communication with the store and they were aware of my situation.. Instead of simply refunding my money, I got a gift card that should last me the rest of my life for all the more electronic purchases I make.
This product is... pretty standard for a laptop

What's great about it: Reasonable price, great processor
What's not so great: Poor speakers,
I bought this laptop primarily for use at home, however I do sometimes take it with me for work purposes and I also travel on the weekend about twice a month and I take it along then as well. For this reason I do like the size because it is big enough to watch shows on and have a full keyboard with the number pad, but small enough that it is still convenient to travel with.
The keyboard does take some getting used to but I do like it now. I also think it will protect the computer from getting dust particles (and food bits, oops) inside the shell. However sometimes when I am typing I manage to click the touchpad and move my cursor. That part is annoying, although I am sure I could fix it by turning down the sensitivity on the touch pad.
This computer has a great processor and plenty of memory for what I do. I have some music and store my pictures on there, but I am just a casual photographer and take pictures really only to document events and publish on my blog.
The three USB ports is a plus for this laptop, especially the high speed port. The battery life is also great--my old computer battery didn't last over 1.5 hours even after I replaced it, this one last 4+ hours.
The biggest drawback to the computer is the speakers. Even at full volume the speakers are not very loud and I have a hard time understanding video when my air conditioner is running (central air). I am investing in external speakers for this reason.
Overall this is a sleek computer (love the blue color) and has a lot of great features.

What's not so great: Sound volume
This computer has a lot of features for the price. Great value for a fairly low priced computer. Sound is fairly weak though. Fairly hard to hear the audio even though it is turned up as far as possible.

What's great about it: Quick and nice for the price
What's not so great: charging issue
It was a great computer but I only had it a week. It would only charge when turned off which was not normal. BB didn't have anymore so I bought another make. But the new i3 was quick for the money.

Nice laptop. It has plenty of ram and runs Microsoft Office 2010 without slowing anything down. Beautiful, crisp, clean display.

We bought this for my wife and it has worked very good so far - no issues. She used it a few hours a day for journalling, photo down-loading and editing, general web browsing, facebook, word processing, etc. Like the size - smaller and easier to handle than the 17" screen size she had before. So far we are happy with it.

What's great about it: Performance and features for the Price
What's not so great: Nothing is truely bad, especially for the price
For the price this is an outstanding laptop. I was looking for an inexpensive laptop for personal use while traveling and this laptop does so surprisingly well. It also doubles as my home theater PC when I'm not traveling. It boots up quick, runs whatever I want without issue. I was expecting it to slow down after I put Norton 360 on it, but that didn't seem to slow it down. I use it for Skype calls, slacker radio, chrome, Firefox, Libre Office, email and as a jukebox. It does all that just fine. The HDMI interface works good with my TV and the webcam preforms well. I'm sure its not for cutting edge graphics and cpu intensive games and/or video editing, but for everything else its a great buy for the money. My only complaints are the keyboard seems a little strange and the speakers are pretty weak. I bought a $10 set of speakers to fix the latter. Battery life isn't bad, but nothing to brag about either.
This product is... Perfect for Business, Easy to set up and is lightning fast

What's great about it: Pro's: The price was great. The display is amazing. Intel Core I3 with Sandy Bridge Technology is great.
What's not so great: Cons: I have not found one yet
This is the first laptop I have bought. I have had desktops in the past but I needed something that I can use in different parts of the house. I was looking for a laptop for about a month and came across this one at Best Buy. This laptop was right in my price range. Excellent Laptop so far. It is fast the display is great. I am very satisfied so far.

This is my 4th Gateway product, this one performs well has a good display, I like the 10 key pad, good price for a great product.

What's great about it: Excellent battery life
What's not so great: cursor jumps, keyboard not aligned, heavy
The keyboard often does not work when typing certain characters. You must hit the keys from the top of the keys and there is no possibility of typing accurately if your fingers are angled as the keys do not accept the strokes. The cursor jumps all over all of the time. Even while typing this the cursor just jumps back up to line one while I am trying to type so you must type VERY deliberately and much more slowly. A great deal of retyping is necessary during all uses. The mouse is too flush to the left of the computer base so we both are constantly right clicking while wishing to left click. The cursor is the major problem as it jumps absolutely everywhere all of the time and highlights blue on all screens constantly. We are extremely displeased with this purchase but were out of town for about 10 of the 14 days that Best Buy gives you to return it (for our wedding) so we were unable to return it given schedules and planning for travel and return. We are now stuck with it and we both hate it tremendously.

So far this laptop has more than met my expectations. It has a nice full keyboard with a number pad. The screen has a great resolution and plays movies nicely. It plays basic games without a problem. Haven't really checked the battery life. The only downside is one mentioned by an earlier reviewer: poor speaker quality. But even with that consideration, it's a very nice laptop for the price.

What's great about it: Love the screen size and the feel of the keyboard.
What's not so great: Can easily click on something you didn't intend on clicking.
The screen is a great size. I like the feel of the keyboard and the fact that it has a 10-key pad. The speed of the laptop is excellent. I'm able to edit photos with my added software easily. The laptop is also able to support my son's gaming web sites. I've had this laptop for a little over two months now. The only thing I can say negative is that it is easy to accidently click on links unintentionally using the scroll on the mouse pad. Other than that it is everything that I wanted in a laptop.

Lettering on keyboard is to lite, can not make out letters. So i have not used very much. wish i had purchased a differnet product name

I had a Gateway for the past 3 years and I needed a replacement. This computer is great. The only but is the speaker. In max volume it is not loud enough.

What's great about it: Memory, speed, looks and price!
What's not so great: Speakers could be better. Lack of bluetooth.
This laptop has everything you need for average daily use, if you surf, check emails, social networks, skype, do some work, view and modify photos, watch movies, store your music library etc..
Great speed and lots of memory.
Really good camera, very good display, keyboard feels great.
What I would add is bluetooth and probably better set of speakers, although sounds isnt that bad but if you turn up the volume then you see it could have better speakers.

Great value for the quality of the computer, Like the number key pad, being able to shut off mouse pad if I want to and have had no problems since I bought it. The only thing that could be better is the volume of the speakers.
