What's great about it: Tracks distance, speed, elevation with ease
What's not so great: nothing at the moment
Nike GPS watch is useful for beginners to serious runners. Make sure you install the software and firmware upgrade your watch before using it. After that, loading information to the NikePlus website is simple.
Make take 10 seconds to a couple of minutes to sync to a satellite but the constant real-time information is worth it. Obviously if you trail run with heavy trees you may loose reception but it comes with a Nike foot sensor for your shoe for that very purpose and when calibrated can provide near accurate information when running at a normal running pace. If you speed up and or sprint, the foot sensor doesn't do to well. But if you still have the Sat sync you are good to go.
It stores my run and has a very easy user interface.
I also found a clearances invishield which a cut up to the size of the glass on the watch for added protection as well as the two year protection.

What's great about it: Ease of use.....
What's not so great: tight fit for big wrist
I bought this as an aid to help train for my first marathon at age 45. I was a bit nervous when I read reviews on it because it seemed like there were some serious software issues. Since there were more good reviews vs bad reviews....I bought one.
This unit has performed flawlessly right out of the box....both the watch and the software. The watch has been a valuable tool in helping me with my pace since I am an inexperienced distance runner......and the software has been a great motivational tool.
Great product for the money....NO COMPLAINTS FROM ME!!!!!
The only issue would be for someone with a large wrist. I am 6-1 and 220. I wear the watch on the last notch.

What's great about it: Seems to work well good value for price
What's not so great: Touch to turn on back light doesn't work reliably
What can I say I spent $400 on a Garmin 4xx series a year ago. It lasted about 90 days being overly sensitive to sweat and finally failing to hold a charge. For the money the Nike is a great value. It doesn't have some of the non-nike web integration offered by Garmin but it does a commendable job of time and distance monitoring and Nike + integration is acceptable.

What's great about it: Nice features like tracking how far you run and your route.
What's not so great: No HR monitor without an additional purchase.
As I looked at the rack for various sport watches in Best Buy, I was attracted to the Nike watch because of the GPS and other features. What I did not realize until I got home was that I needed to purchase an additional sensor strap for the HR monitor to work. Went back to Best Buy and then several other stores looking to purchase the sensor strap and have still not found it. As such, I am still using my old sport watch with a working HR monitor and the Nike watch sits on my desk. Had I realized this at the time of purchase, I would have selected a different watch. Even the Besy Buy rep at the store was surprised when I told him the watch did not come with a HR monitor sensor.

What's great about it: Accuracy and Information
What's not so great: Concerned about durability over time
I've logged 12 miles over three runs during the week that I've owned this watch. The first satellite link took several minutes, but subsequent links took less than a minute. It's very lightweight (less than my non-GPS Ironman), and it fits snug to my wrist. After downloading the Nike+ software, I was able to add information to my profile to get a more accurate calorie burn. The Heartlink (sold separately, I got mine on Amazon) connected right away. Last, the Nike+ website is nice because it saves all of your run data on the website. It also has an option to train for different events (5K, 10K, half-marathon, etc) and sets up a personalized training schedule. The only drawback is that website display is in Flash format, and sometimes it's down. A new site is supposed to launch in a few months, though. The Nike Maps beta shows "hot" running routes, which is nice because it gets me out to see more of the city in areas that others enjoy. I haven't owned a Garmin so I can't speak to comparisons, but I absolutely LOVE this purchase. I hope this watch lasts for a few years.

What's great about it: Easy to use, lots of data!
What's not so great: Takes a long time to find a satellite
I had been running with a Garmin, but finally got sick of logging the run on Nike+ and then the GPS data on Garmin's site. This watch does a great job of integrating all the data in one spot. The ONLY downfall is that it somethines takes a bit long to find a satellite signal. Not enough of a downfall to care about though.

What's not so great: Slow glitchy and unreliable website and download process.
The watch is great...easy to use, all features work very well. The website is slow, and the map servers haven't been working. Able to see my pace, times, heart rate etc but GPS map servers are always down. Two calls and they keep saying "known issue we're working on it", Website loads slowly and workouts upload to computer slow and sometimes it takes several tries. Having the info on my wrist is more important than the web features so I may keep it but if you want more reliable web service and mapping features go with another product.

What's great about it: Ease of use, hardware
What's not so great: Software is the worst in the GPS industry
This watch has been out almost a year and has several things going for it and several bad flaws. The hardware is great. At $199 it is the only truly waterproof GPS watch until you get into prices above $400. With the latest firmware updates it finds and locks on to satellites in well under 30 seconds and in the box they include a Nike+ footpad for use indoors on a treadmill or in areas of poor GPS coverage (streets with skyscrapers, tunnels, heavy forest etc.) which with other companies costs $75+ extra. The actual ease of use of menus and settings is far superior to competing Garmin products that are far less intuitive.
The problem is the software! The watch uploads your runs to Nikeplus.com which is flash based and horribly buggy. Often for weeks at a time during the last year the site will lose runs, lose GPS data so no maps for runs are visible etc. and there is no recovery options, the watch will not save backups to your computer. Nike has sent out site wide apology letters to their customers but other than a vague promise of a new, non-flash based, and actually functional site due sometime in mid to late 2012 the site functionality isn't getting better it has been getting worse. Garmin watches (Nike's major GPS competitor) aren't as cheap or easy to use but the data is rock solid, never gets lost, and always saves a backup to your physical computer just in case.
I love the price, the ease of use, but hate the software. I would say a big company like Nike would fix this but it has been a full year and it hasn't happened. They claim a new site will fix everything but it is still many months away.
Buyer beware.

What's great about it: Good price, looks good, works well
I saw this watch about a year ago but waited to buy the item. I decided to finally make the purchase and I'm so glad I did! I started running half marathons last year and I wanted to improve my time so I figured this watch would be helpful.
Like a previous review stated, I also had a problem connecting to nikeplus.com when I initially plugged the watch in. However, I readjusted how the watch was connected to the USB port and it worked! Everything after that has been positive. I love how the watch looks and its features. I can upload my workouts (it's uploaded every workout i've done so far) to the nikeplus.com website which I really like and I can also keep track of my time. I really love the GPS feature as well as the nikeplus.com website shows me a precise map of where I ran. The watch itself has a history of runs that you've done along with mileage for each run. It also keeps track of all your records such as total miles, fastest mile, fastest 5k, and longest run. I would definitely recommend purchasing this watch!

What's great about it: Battery life, integration with Nike +
What's not so great: Nothing so far
I had been using Nike+ on my iTouch and then on my iPhone, but I found myself having to calibrate the app too often to maintain distance accuracy. I had been shopping for a GPS watch for a few weeks when I came across the Nike+ GPS watch. I liked the fact that I wasn't going to have to switch applications and lose my running history. The software loaded very easily and immediately synced with my Nikeplus account online. Once it was fully charged I was off and running. Oh, and there is a light for the display when running in low light if you tap the top of the watch as outlined in the manual. So far the watch battery has lasted for several weeks, yes weeks, without recharging. Granted I only run 4 times a week for an average of 25 miles / week, but in contrast to charging my iTouch every other day or so, this watch battery is amazing. The watch fits well on my wrist and on my wife's also so it is equally suited for men and women. My wife will be getting one shortly so she can ditch the Nike shoe sensor too.
The watch always gets satellite reception within a minute of turning it on, and I have not lost satellite reception even while running on trails in heavily wooded areas. I know some people may have an issue with the watch only displaying limited information, but I am OK with just seeing my pace and distance traveled. Uploading my runs is as simple as plugging the watch into the included USB extension, and within a minute or so I can view my run, my route on the GPS map, my splits, etc.
One feature that would be nice is for my training schedule on Nikeplus to load into the watch, but not having that enhancement does not detract from my opinion of the device. Also the packaging and marketing materials indicate that the watch integrates with the Polar Crosslink chest strap to monitor your heart rate. Unfortunately it only integrates with one special chest strap made specifically for this watch. I was kind of hoping it would integrate with my F7 chest strap, but it does not. Wearing a separate heart rate monitor on long runs is not super convenient. I don't view the integration with a special chest strap as a huge negative, but I have already invested t$100 for the F7 and I can't justify another $100 for a new chest strap when my F7 works just fine.
Overall, the watch is an excellent value for the solution it delivers. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, and I plan on buying one for my wife who also runs as much as I do.

What's great about it: Nice size and accurate
What's not so great: Needs a backlight.
If you are on a budget and looking for a decent price GPS running watch this is the one. I was using Nike+ on my phone but this allows me to save battery by not running GPS on the phone all the time. The only bad thing about this watch is no backlight. When running at night that would be helpful. But other than that it is a nice size and not very heavy. Can be used as an everyday watch.

Junk. I bought this product for my wife for Christmas. We downloaded the program from Nikeplus.com/download, then plugged in the device. The program connected to the device and then attempted to connect to nikeplus.com. It sat in "connecting to nikeplus.com" for a few minutes before finally saying "unable to connect to nikeplus.com". I tired this 6 times with no luck, uninstalled and reinstalled the software, with no luck again. I quit. This useless junk is going back.

What's great about it: Easy to use, good value, accurate device
What's not so great: Nothing
After using this watch multiple times and talking with others who have paid more for the Garmin products, I'm totally satisfied with the Nike GPS watch. It is comfortable, looks like a normal watch, has a battery that lasts for days without recharging and has a simple user interface. While its true that you can't swap out what is being displayed on the face (I have pace and total distance displayed), but who wants to flick through info when you should be running.
The GPS works well and picks up within a minute. I have used the GPS function in South Jersey and in North East Ohio with some pretty thick tree coverage and it hasn't missed a beat. The Polar HR monitor is super easy to pair with the watch and gives accurate feedback. My next purchase will be a pair of Nike shoes so I can use the included shoe pod.
The website gives all of the normal useful information that you would expect. I haven't had any runs deleted or not uploaded. The Nike Beta+ Website gives a great visual map of pace which helps to identify weak areas. All of the other pages, such as Goals, Challenges and Coaching provide easy to navigate tools for motivation and instruction.
There is a Nike App for the iPhone, but why risk falling or sweating on your expensive phone?
I have no stake in Nike. I spent weeks trying to decide which watch to buy, and since pulling the trigger to buy this, I can't imagine running with anything else.
