What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: Slight cpu fan noise
I have owned many laptops over the years and I would rate this as the best I have ever owned. Perfect size and weight for my needs. Desktop users may want a larger screen

My only complaint is that the fan is not completely silent. I previously owned a Lenovo T400 and never heard the fan. The fan is not loud but you can hear it running.

One thing of importance to note is the that 3830 uses Synaptics drivers and the 4830 uses an off brand and they are light years apart. Synaptics is the best...period. If you are an exclusive touch pad user like I am this may be important to you.

Great laptop for the price

What's great about it: Solid HW specs at affordable price.
What's not so great: Cheap materials used in keyboard
Researched and compared as many smaller, lightweight, powerful laptops and this was the winner based on it's specs and price point.
What I was shopping for: netbook/notebook hybrid. Essentially what will be the future ultrabook to be seen coming in the end of the year. I wanted something small and compact that ran a full version windows and had powerful components, but still at a lower price point often associated with netbooks.
Looked at similar 13" laptops from Toshiba, Sony, Asus, etc. Some offered better HW specs (i5, more storage, 7200 rpm, etc) and some had lower weight but not quite all of the above combined and most approaching the $1000 price point.
Decided to make this purchase. Owned for a month at the time of writing this. Physically I have enjoyed the design. Thin, fair weight and size makes it nice and portable without feeling too compact in use. Coming from a 15.6" screen it felt a little small and like I was squinting more while using it, but once adapted, I don't notice a difference. Yes the keyboard feels a little cheap as stated in other reviews, but it doesn't effect use or performance. Perhaps just cheap materials/keyboard design to lower costs. Besides that the keyboard is pretty good with the usual sort of hotkeys and buttons available. Up near the speaker is also a "P" key, which is a free button to program to open any application. The speakers are pretty nice. For laptop speakers. Placed well and clear loud sound. The location of the touchpad is a little off center and feels weird using it, but I also just don't like touchpads in general and prefer an external mouse. Battery button indicates battery level if pushed when in use and when powered off. 3-USB ports inc. 1 USB 3.0 is nice, but the other 2 USB 2.0 ports are somewhat narrow and feels like you have to use a lot of strength to plug into and pull out of them. Having bluetooth compatibility is also nice since that is what my wireless mouse uses and makes for easy syncing with other portable devices. It does not have an optical drive, however, which is not a problem for me since physical media is now becoming obsolete and the use of USB devices is suffice.
Computing is quick and smooth. An i3 with 4GB of ram is plenty for the average to above average user. Power users doing high video muxing and heavy ram using tasks will drag. Also, probably not the best setup for the newest games. I don't game so I can't state what it can run. Power up and shut down is pretty quick and sleep to wakeup is very easy. Battery life so far is great. Supposed to be up to 8 hours continuous. I have used it over 24 hours sporatically from a full charge before needing to plug it in again. The screen is glossy but sharp and vivid. Also, came with a lot of bloatware. Research it and decide what you want and don't want and uninstall through control panel.
For portability and above average use, this is perfect. Anything more may require a higher end product, but for me personally I use a desktop then in that case.
