What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: Need to call Vonage and have them help you set it up but the Tech guy that helped us was really good!
We have been a Vonage customer for a "#" of years now and love it!!!
Our Vonage Router went out and Vonage credited our account for the cost to replace it with this box. Had to call them and have them walk me though the set up and you will need to as well.
Dont' have Vonage...switch and you won't be sorry! I love being able to check my voice mail via the computer anywhere I am and if for any reason we loose power the calls go right to my cell phone and If you wanted your calls transfered to another # and you forgot, no problem, sign on line anywhere and you can transfer you calls.

It is cheap alright and good for calls within US. But if you call internationally like destinations specially in South and South East Asia among others in Europe, the quality of calls are from poor to terrible. Good for those who do not need to call Internationally.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Exceelnte alternative for those who have relatives abroad. We can call more than 60 countries and now Vonage has also released an app to call from mobile phones using the same account. The fee is a flat bone that the minutes or hours call to any country within the plan always pay the same.
And remember you can also call any of the 50 U.S. states.
If all for a flat fee that after 3 months is 34.00 dollars including taxes.
