What's great about it: Comparable to High End speakers better than same costing sepearate speaker system
What's not so great: Wow took a long time to get it to work in different configs properly
I have a very high end music system at home and wanted something worth listening to in the bedroom. Listened carefully to all speakers at Best Buy in 200 - 600 price range and matched these to a basic amp with capability to hook to iphone but not though miniplug - which would loose high quality digital by first converting to analogue. Picked out best combination and it came to over $600 without sub - plus wouldn't work wirelessly
Then I listened to the Zeppelin off my iphone docked to some CD quality digital tracks - Norah Jones. Amazing sound - way better than the same priced seperates. No need for a sub, it was that good. Only issue is that I like sound balance better when docked than wireless. When positioned near wall, there's too much bass end, but imaging is great for a bedroom, not as good as separates but respectable. Most impressive is precision / lack of distortion of speakers - clearly the most like my high end KEF Reference 201/2 heard until I tried their $1000+ speakers. You can clearly hear the difference in imaging of sound, depth of field when listening to high quality digital audio using the Zeppelin. If you want to hear genuine CD and higher quality sound this is the system. Very impressed with sound. The only hassle was the struggle to get it connected. Had difficulties with wireless setup until I discovered issues with my network wireless setup. Bought new wireless adapters and after many hours with technical service got these hooked up properly and since it has worked fine. Had to reset many times to get it to connect properly at first but finally figured it out.
Then discovered you could use Airplay to play on my other computer / music systems through the windows pc. After my trial and effort found a program that worked on all but my WIndow7 64 desktop. Finally tonight I found a helpful document on B&W website that explained the problem. Even bought a wireless for desktop which didn't have one to fix problem. Turned out it was a firewall issue and port addressing. Followed instructions and now can play from iTunes to speakers all over house including the Zeppelin. Wow, just great. If you got the perseverance you can get a lot out of the new system. Iphone docking and wireless is just a start. Now that I got it to work I am willing to help others through the jungle. Let me know.

What's great about it: Sound and Looks
What's not so great: Nothing
Very happy with this purchase. I use this with my Apple ecosystem which includes iPhone 4S, iPhone 3S, iPad 3, and Macbook Air--the Airplay fix works great. No problem switching back and forth. I have this located under an end table one foot away from the wall sitting on a wood floor and the combination of materials really enhances the sound. No distinguishable distortion and also like the fact that I can stream any sound via Airplay. I owned a Sonos 5 system prior to this and returned it for the Zepplin. Very happy with this product and impressed with the company as this is my first experience with Bowers and Wilkins.
If you have Apple products, love high quality sound (MOG, Pandora One, Apple Lossless, etc) you will be very pleased with this product. I also do not have the room or resources for a standalone stereo system and this has turned out to be an excellent choice. Wireless capability also negates the need to use the docking capability.

What's great about it: Sound, wi-fi connection, design and looks
What's not so great: durability - dependability
Outstanding sound. You really do want to place this unit in a place that doesn't restrict the back end, otherwise your bass could end up being left too flat or too boomy, depending on the . A very deep bookshelf or the top of a chest of drawers; about 12 to 18 inches away from a back surface.
Flawless functioning between the iPOD dock and the USB (to a laptop). No issues. Sound from both is fantastic. If you find yours is a bit off, don't be afraid to tweek using either the iPods music EQ (a bit restricted, but effective) or the iTunes EQ (a lot more robust - 10 band EQ).
The only issue I had was when switching between USB and Dock, the unit would sometimes just not play any sound. At all. I checked and double checked settings on both units (the Zeppelin and the iPod / Laptop) both configured correctly - just that the unit decided not to play. Nothing (and yes, it had power). Was odd to me - packed it up to take it back to see if something had maybe burned out inside - but upon wifes request to try it when I got it back home, it worked again. This may just be an isolated issue, but overall, this lack of dependability and durability is the only reason I give it 4 of 5.

What's great about it: when you dock your device, it sounds great
What's not so great: WiFi is not stable and doesn't work properly consistently
Sounds great, but if you buy this product for its WiFi feature, don't waste your money. I read every manual, looked at videos and talked to tech support, but couldn't get the WiFi signal to hold. I returned the first one and bought another one. Same problems. I called a really high-end audio store and they told me they couldn't get the one on display in their store to work properly. I returned the second one and bought a Bose SoundDock10 for the same price and the Bluetooth attachment for $100 extra. The Bose has better lows and the Bluetooth and is more stable and works every time!!! Don't waste you money on this product until they get it right,

What's great about it: It sounds good in the store
What's not so great: Price, poor airplay connection, too glitchy
I have been eying this product for quite some time. I am not hasty to jump into $600 purchases (especially for something that essentially will serve the primary function of being an iphone accessory) without doing some research and product testing. I tested the product in the store, the sound was amazing. At one Best Buy location i was actually able to connect my iPhone wirelessly using airplay. I was sold at that point. It was only a matter of time before I would make the purchase.
Earlier this week I finally decided to take the leap and boy was i disappointed! When I got the product home I meticulously connected it to my WiFi network using my computer (as instructed by the product guide). It took 20 minutes or so but I was able to successfully connect it on the first try. I was able to stream music from my Mac Book Pro as well as my iPad2. I did notice some minor errors with connecting my iPhone 4s.
Today I have been thoroughly testing the Zeppelin comparing it to my Bose Sound Dock 10. Here are the results.
Ease of use - Bose wins hands down. (the Zeppelin has had intermittent connection issues all day...not just air play connection but aux jack and dock connection issues as well). On the contrary the Bose just works out of the box. the dock has never failed me 100 times out of 100.. The Aux jack works without a hitch as well. The bluetooth module is a great substitute for airplay if you have your idevice within 30 feet of the speaker. Some might argue that you will have lesser quality sound but I couldn't recognize any degradation.
Quality of Sound - Bose wins because of better clarity in the mids and the highs as well as more volume and bass.It was close though! If you did not have the 2 speakers in the room with you, you may not be able to discern the difference. Both my wife and I agreed the Bose Sound Dock has a little bit better sound.
Price - a Draw. They both cost $600 retail and are consider a luxury item to most people.
Conclusion - I am taking the Zeppelin back. I ignore the odd shape in favor of the sound when I made the purchase but the deal breaker for me is that it just didn't work...the airplay didn't work, the dock didn't work all the time, every time, and the aux hookup was the same. I think the problem also had to do with difficulty switching between sources because the little LED on the front is hard to see from a distance and the colors are similar to each other and very faint.
I probably just got a faulty unit (I hope so at least). At this point though, I wish I had another set of arms so i could give this product 4 thumbs down. Sorry not worth $600!

What's great about it: Sound! & Sleek Style
What's not so great: nothing
i'm very impressed, super good balance between highs mids and lows. Obviously not gonna put out earth shaking bass, but wow is it smooth! I really enjoy the airplay! I previously owned Beats By Dre Ipod dock, that has more bass but this is a much more rich balanced speaker, if you have the $ Go for it! you won't be disapointed!

What's great about it: Sound quality is second to none
What's not so great: AirPlay
Picked up this unit at a great discount thanks to Open Item discount but I've come to see why it was returned..
iPhone 4S AirPlay compatibility is spotty at best. So far I'm 2 weeks into the return period and as much as it hurts to return it seeing how I got it for 325, i cannot justify paying any amount of money for a product that doesnt perform as advertised.
I personally had no trouble setting it up on my wifi but you'll find plenty of horror stories discussing trouble with initial setup. My advice is to connect to ethernet first, then have it join your wifi.
Sound quality is great. Better than any docks that are available right now. The closes dock that comes close to matching this unit is the Apple Hi-Fi which was discontinued years ago. Both used class-d amps and similar driver arrangement. Maybe B&W copied :)

What's great about it: Form and function, Sound quality, Airplay streaming (except with the 4s until Apple addresses this via firmware update)
What's not so great: Airplay problems with 4s (but this is an Apple issue not B&W), A bit rough on the pocketbook
The Zeppelin air is simply amazing. The sound quality of this little machine is spectacular. Clearly the price point is high, but listening to this vs. other speaker docks is truly a "get what you pay for" experience. After trying 2 other products before sticking with the Zep, there's no question in my mind that it's worth the asking price. While both of the other products were good at their $300 asking price, the Zep is truly at a whole different level sound wise (as it should be considering the price is double). Airplay works great overall, but iPhone 4s users be warned that some iPhone 4s's have problems with Airplay generally (not just this product). Unfortunately, my 4s is affected by this problem and does not work with Airplay. Everytime I try to use Airplay on my 4s with the Zep, music will play for about 10 seconds then stop and I have to unplug my Zep in order for it to pair with any of my other devices again. Here's a summary of how Airplay has worked/not worked for me. There is a very consistent pattern to what works and what doesn't among the devices I have tried: iPad 2 and Macbook air to Zep = flawless. IPhone 4s to Zep Air = problems everytime (again, based on my searches of the web, this is a problem with the 4s and Airplay, not the Zep). While this is definitely frustrating, I'm confident that Apple will take care of this in one of the next updates for the 4s given that it affects all Airplay applications/products. In the meantime, I will use my iPad, Macbook air or put my 4s on the docking port.
In sum, after trying 3 products during this buying experience (and only planning to spend $300 at the start) I am completely satisfied with the Zeppelin Air despite doubling my budget. If sound quality is a premium for you and you can justify the $600 price point, you should definitely give this product a try.

What's great about it: Sound quality and portability
What's not so great: Zeppelin shape makes space use a little inefficient, no digital display for connection type
These speakers offer full rich sound in a small package. We tried several bluetooth options before selecting this system, which includes Apple Airplay to support streaming music from itunes. For comparison, the new Bose portable bluetooth system, which is less expensive, was tinny and the music became distorted at louder volumes. The Bose ipod sounddock offers comparable quality and price, but lacks the Airplay or Bluetooth options. Better display of the connection type (dock, aux, Airplay, etc) would be useful; the system currently uses various led colors to denote the connection type - minor issue.
