Super alternative to a phone in the bedroom!

What's great about it: 3-level illumination, Clock face hand illumination w/out numbers, and digital time @ the bottom.
What's not so great: Setting the alarm time with two hands.
I love this alarm clock radio! I use the alarm sound for waking as I think waking to the possibility of blaring music is annoying. I love the 3-level illumination as I have to sleep in the DARK, and the low lighting is just enough when I need it. The illuminated hands of the clock face WITHOUT numbers are so pleasant, and the time in digital numbers is wonderfully small at the bottom of the face if I choose to look at it. This is just what I was looking for as it seems that a dock for your phone is the most popular thing. This way, I don't have to go FIND my phone to bring it to bed with me. I would love a phone in the bedroom for emergency phone calls, but I detest being attached to a cell phone. This was a great purchase, and the price was reasonable!

What's great about it: The big & cool looking clock dial,
What's not so great: Smalll buttons for big hands
Sleek and cool looking, almost Apple like ,but without the huge price...
Simple to set up and use and looks cool in the dark !
You just have to familiarize yourself to the buttons, once you do then it's easy to use . Wish it could play CD's or plug in my i-phone but all those extra's will jack up the price of the product, and who needs all those extra's when you want keep things simple & cool ...

What's great about it: The brightness control for the clock face makes it nice at night.
What's not so great: Whats not to Like?
We Love this clock Radio. Love the design, And the radio has good sound for a small radio!

What's not so great: All controls are not simple
I was looking for an alarm clock to replace my old one that broke.
Top on my list was style to match my bedroom and for it to not look like an ugly clock radio. The Philips AJ7000 met that plus other things like its dimming ability, being small, a low price, and having other basic features. Because of the price, I did not expect this radio to have a great sounding speaker (like a Bose) but the sound is decent on its low/medium setting for me to wake to and to occasionally listen to, if I'm in the room. It is better sounding than the similar clock radio I'm replacing. I was pleasantly surprised about how small it was and how nice (non-plastic-ish) it looked and felt. The dimmer is easy to use and meets my spouse's strict criteria of not being too bright with all of the lights off. In the bright sun, I do need to increase the brightness to Medium to be able to read it, but that is expected since the low setting is so low. I did consider more expensive systems from Boston Acoustics, Sangean, Bose, and other iPod dock systems; but this won out based on style and its low price (compared to $100+). My only complaint is that the controls are not all simple (the most common controls are simple), but their complexity is what one might expect from a typical clock radio. Besides the controls, the only thing they could add to this would be an auto-dimming feature that I saw listed on more expensive systems. I'm very happy with the Philips AJ7000 clock radio.

What's great about it: Compact size, good looks, dimmer, and digital tuner
What's not so great: Poor sound, too light weight at the base, difficult controls
I was looking for a clock radio that had a digital tuner, was not too big or too bright and looked stylish. This new design from Philips shows a lot of promise but needs some improvement. Its compact and good looking and the dimmer is good so its not too bright, but the sound quality is horrible and even if you don't mind compromising some sound quality for compact size you will still be shocked at how bad it is. They need to add some more weight to the base of the unit so it is not so flimsy to use. Lastly, controls are anything but user friendly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Light level, overall look
This clock radio is perfect. The dual analog and digital clock face is great, including the ability to set the digital clock to 24 hour format. The detail that sold me was the extreme low-light emitted. Clock provides just enough light to tell time, but not enough to keep me awake. The alarm even has a nice tone to it.
I would recommend this to a friend!
