I was happy wih my old wireless printer and had no intention of purchasing a new one. When I made some changes to my home network my printer would no longer work wth the settings so I purchased this printer. I was looking to spend the least amount of money for a decent print from a printer that would work on my network. WOW! The test picture that printed was amazing. Then to find I could print directly from my iphone and IPad---what an awesome feature. I have not event begun to explore all the features, but I already LOVE this printer!

What's great about it: Efax, photo printing, 2 sided printing, QUIET, easy setup
What's not so great: Slightly bulky
So, i have had this printer for almost 2 months now, and honestly, i could not have been happier. I have probably gone through 5 printers in 6 years or so. I am pretty rough on them.
This has stood up to the test. The features are great, I love 2 sided printing. Also, the photo quality is near pro grade. I have printed many photos out and people cannot tell the difference.
The other feature that has really sold me on this, is definitely the Efax capability. That is a very new feature, and it is great. I can have a free fax line through them, and not need to connect up to a phone line.
The 2 things that I do not like, is the fact that it is bulky. I know, I am picky. The other thing is that the paper tray is difficult. Trying to load regular paper or photo paper takes a great deal of patience.
Also, the printer is super quiet. I cannot hear in the next room when I am printing. (my old printer you could hear across the house).
I would honestly recommend this to anyone looking at a printer, and also, the HP ink, is by far the best ink I have ever had.

What's great about it: When it prints, the output was good
What's not so great: Wireless connectivity is frustrating and unreliable
When my 10-year-old HP all-in-one finally died I looked for a new HP hoping to take advantage of wireless connectivity that is available these days, and expecting that HP would get it right. Wrong. In a home with 3 desktops and 4 laptops, only the two XP desktops (XP, really?) would successfully connect to the printer over wireless. The others--once the software was installed--would find the printer (3 feet from the wireless router) but would never print, claiming a communication error. Then the two PCs that *did* connect originally would fail with the communication error. Only recycling the printer multiple times would restore the connection and then only temporarily. I never bothered to tether the printer to a PC with a USB cable because I could have bought a $50 printer to do that. The feature that I paid a little more to get was a dismal failure--and I returned it. I probably won't get another HP printer now because I'm sure that the consumer grade wireless "feature" is shared among all their models. Sorry HP, but this experience was entirely too frustrating.

What's great about it: Pretty much everything
What's not so great: Photo print quality is a little off, but still not bad. Have seen better.
When my old HP C5280 printer just up and died on me, I needed a new one. I don't really care about print speed so if you are looking for that don't bother reading on. I got this cause my old printer had everything that this has and I needed to fill the void my old one produced. I like the fact that I can not only print pics and docs wirelessly, but it has apps like Facebook where you can print the pics that are on your profile there. I needed a printer that used two separate trays for pictures and documents cause all of the cheap ones just have one. One thing that I have had a problem understanding is where is the benefit of having more than two ink cartridges. This has 5. My old one had only 2. This one takes a little more time just to get to print, meaning once you press print about 5 seconds later it might have the paper drawn in to start printing. I like the fact that this one is a little quieter and it plays a tone to let you know when your doc/pic is done printing. I will miss the simplicity of my old printer, but I have a pretty good replacement!

After reading plenty of reviews, I decided all printers were awful. I settled on this printer and LOVE IT! I always anticipate problems with set-up but this one practically set itself up. It connected to my router easily and was up and running within 30 minutes - record time for me. Print quality is great. It copies nicely and prints out awesome photos. I use it for a variety of home uses - financial, sunday school lessons, photos, work presentations. It performs beautifully so far - I highly recommend it!

Bought this printer for everyday use but mostly for the kid's for college. They use the Wi-Fi to print from their laptops from their rooms. It's fast and prints great. Love it!!

This printer was easy to set up and access from the computer, remotely and from my android phone. It is easy to use and has many features, some of which are eoverkill since they are easier to use on a computer. Overall a godd printer for the money.

What's great about it: Easy to use and great features
This printer has lots of great features. It prints well and was easy to set up. I print to this using my iMac, windows laptop, my android phone and iPad. I love having lots of options and it also has lots of print services available including templates for graph paper and such. Most of all it is easy to use, set up and has great print quality. I also like that it has separate inks for each color so I can print things that are heavy in one color and just replace that color instead of the whole cartridge.

What's great about it: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!
What's not so great: EVERYTHING
WHAT A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME...BULKY AND DIDN'T WORK...WOULD NOT FIT COMFORTABLY AT MY WORKSTATION. THE WORST PART WAS IT NEVER WORKED EVEN WITH SO-CALLED "TECH SUPPORT" FROM EFAX, HP AND TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED THAT THE SALESMAN AT BEST BUY ASSURED ME IT WOULD WORK WITH MY SYSTEM...I WILL NEVER EVER TRUST BEST BUY SALES PEOPLE AGAIN!!

What's great about it: Works exactly like it's supposed to.
What's not so great: No ethernet connection, power button in bad place
Unboxed it, put in the print cartridges, turned it on and it worked perfectly. Connected via wireless with no problems. eFax worked great, though instructions to activate were a bit unclear. The ability to print from a mobile device via the printers email address is a cool feature, though I can't think of too many reasons to do this. The seperate tray for paper and photo paper saves a ton of hassle. My three complaints are (1) lack of a physical ethernet port so I could still use the printer if the wireless failed. (there is a USB option though) (2) No USB port for direct print of photo's etc... (3) the power button is located in a bad place. I have on several occasions turned the device off while lifting the lid to place a document on the scanner. Otherwise, totally pleased with this printer.

Will not scan off of glass

What's not so great: Get error message when trying to scan off of glass surface
Set up was easy. Print quality is great for documents and photos. The problem is with trying to make copies of odd size originals. Laying them directly on the glass will not work. Went in to Best Buy last night and the sales person in computers as well as a Geek Squad member could not get the display printer to scan directly off the glass either. The HP sales rep will be in in two weeks. That's the last chance before returning it to the store and getting something else. We'll see what happens.

What's great about it: Having the photo paper & photo ink cartridge always in place and ready to print and the available from smart phone
I've always been very happy with the quality of photos printed form the HP printers that I've had in the past but the changing paper and photo ink cartridge was inconvenient. This printer has solved that problem with the photo paper and ink cartridge always ready. It also is available to print photos from my iPhone from wherever I am or documents sent from any computer or downloaded from the internet. It was so easy to set up and was printing wirelessly in minutes. I've had a lot of printers of the years but this one is the best!

I had the HP 8100 Printer and really loved the quality of the photos it printed. When it gave up I was concerned about choosing the right PhotoSmart that would give me great pictures. And, this one really does a super job. My photos look great. The only one thing I have found is that when I print pages from the web, the page numbers are partly cut off. Other than that I am completely satisfied.

I had less than a year ago bought a Kodak printer and it was smaller than this one, but very slow to print. The print head broke twice in one year and was replaced once. The second time we just bought this new printer. So far it's been great. Fast to print and doesnt make so much noise. Easy to set up all features. The only thing I'm not used to is efax. But I set it up, havent used it yet. So far, it's good. Good for photo printing.
